https://www.premierboxingchampions.com/isaac-cruz-vs-lamont-roach

I have posted this in the other community so I might as well put it here.

This fight is scheduled in December 6. Both of this boxers might have beaten Tank Davis. But now they will have to settle and fight each other first and maybe they can have a rematch with Tank later. Important to note that Lamont Roach is going up again in weight class as this is at 140 lbs. The fight is going to be interesting, one aggressive fighter in Pitbull Cruz against a technician in Lamont Roach.

Votes are open.

I have Roach here to win in the judges scorecard. I think his technical skills will be too much for a fighter like Isaac Cruz who relies more on his aggression. And if that didn't click then he doesn't know what to do next. On the other hard, Lamont Roach, although going 2 weight class, fought a great fight against Tank Davis but could have been robbed. He had a good counter and it should carry him on this fight. So he will for sure test that chin of Cruz if it can hold for 12 rounds. Majority decision by Roach, but it going to be very close like 7-5 rounds.

This is a clash between an aggressive brawler and a technical tactician. Pitbull Cruz’s relentless style seems tailor-made to challenge Lamont Roach’s counter-punching approach. However, I believe Roach will struggle to break through Cruz’s tight defense—especially considering Cruz’s granite chin, which was on full display in his war against Tank Davis. Davis himself had a tough time putting Cruz away, and Roach might face similar difficulties. All in all, this shapes up to be a compelling and unpredictable matchup.

Is Lamont Roach known to be a power puncher? I'm not sure about it, but maybe the added weight on him going at 140 lbs might give him that strength and power to hit Cruz chin. But as you have said, he has a granite chin and that could hold against the power of Roach.

So this in paper could be 50/50, aggressive style with granite chin against a technical fighter. For that, I will agree that it's going to be unpredictable, but with Roach moving up for the first time, it might give him a problem in later rounds unless he turns out to be a 'Crawford' and looks amazing at his new weight class.

Anyone following the updates on this fight? Kinda weird that not a lot of people are talking about it.

I actually think this is a good matchup, especially with Roach… he’s the one who almost beat Davis, or honestly maybe he got robbed. So now we’ve got two fighters who are both willing to engage, this could turn into a real war in the ring.

What’s up with this? No hype at all?

Interesting match up but I think Pitbull Cruz’s nonstop pressure, heavier natural frame at 140, and ability to drag slick boxers into uncomfortable exchanges make him the more likely the winner here as Lamont Roach despite his sharp technique and counter punching may struggle to keep Cruz off him for twelve rounds once the pace turns into the kind of aggressive, grinding fight that strongly favors Pitbull’s style.

If that’s your analysis, then it’s actually good for you because the odds for Cruz to win are around +180 right now, which means there’s a lot of value there, especially considering he’s the more aggressive fighter. That line is probably a bit overvalued because Roach gained some respect from the bookies after almost beating Tank Davis in his previous fight.

This fight between Pitbull Cruz and Lamont Roach, I reckon the fans will very much like to watch this than the scammer Tank's next professional fight which is not against Jake Paul. Everyone only wanted to watch Jake Paul vs. the scammer Tank because Jake Paul was in it. If it was another opponent, the fans will very much ignore him.

On my vote, I have voted for the Mexican Pitbull. I predict that Pitbull will have a more convincing victory against Lamont Roach than the scammer Tank heheheheh.

If Cruz is really sitting at +180, then definitely yes as the value is on his side. Odds like that usually reflect public perception more than the actual matchup. Roach getting respect after the Tank fight makes sense, but styles still make fights, and Cruz’s forward pressure and work rate can swing close rounds in his favor. His like another version of pacman.

2.78 in   betpanda-

That’s definitely a gift, because Cruz also competed well against Tank Davis, even though he lost. So I’m sure he can match Roach too. The problem with Cruz is he’s very predictable. They call him a bulldog for a reason -  he just keeps charging forward. While Roach, I believe, is more of a high-IQ fighter.

@stadus. This 2.78 on Pitbull Cruz is very much good underdog odds for gambling on a boxer that you know will have a chance to perform much better than the scammer Tank.

The tactics that Pitbull use on Lamont will certainly give Lamont much difficulty on the fight. I predict that this will be something similar to George Foreman vs. Ali where Foreman has trapped Ali on the rope, however, for this Pitbull vs. Roach the rope will not be loosened for a knockout panch!

Roach might be overestimated because of the fight with Tank. His record outside of that fight is not very impressive. He lost to Jamel Herring, got a controversial decision against Hector Garcia, and has a draw against Orlando Cruz. These are very average fighters that he has struggled with. He also only has 10 knockouts. He does not have the power to make Pitbull Cruz respect him.

Roach will have to fight defensively, but he’s not exactly Floyd Mayweather. Cruz does not have a great ring IQ, that’s why he’s the underdog, but when you compare all of their attributes, it is an evenly matched fight.

Both boxers aren't that popular despite of them ALMOST defeating Tank Davis. If only one of them defeated Tank, this fight might be more popular, but they didn't hence, the lack of hype around it. TBH, I didn't also think that both of them fight 2 weeks from now. Nobody really promoted this fight, eh? Cheesy

Anyway, an aggressive fighter against a good counter-puncher. I wonder who will be the winner on this one, but I'm not surprised that Roach is the one being favored on this one just because of how he performed against Tank Davis. Like most here though, I also put my money on Pitbull just because of how he fight. Yes, he's very aggressive, but he's very good at it hence, those 28 wins. For me, Roach only became popular because of how he fought Davis back then, or at least that's what I believed.

Of Lamont Roach’s 25 wins, only 10 have come by knockout, which suggests he’s more of a technical boxer than a power puncher. His last KO victory was back in 2019 against Jamel Herring. The jump to the 140-lb limit could affect his speed, which is one of his key advantages.

This fight is tough to call, but I’m leaning toward the quicker, more technical fighter—Roach. As they say, “you can’t hit what you can’t see.” If Roach can survive Cruz’s early pressure and avoid getting dragged into a brawl, he’s got a real shot at pulling off the win.

If he fights technical, he won’t dance to Cruz’s rhythm. It should be him dictating the pace of the fight, which makes it easier for him to beat Cruz. Cruz is mostly just an attacker, not really a smart boxer, he relies a lot on power and durability. With that style, he’ll end up being an easy target for Roach.

The fight is going to be interesting, one aggressive fighter in Pitbull Cruz against a technician in Lamont Roach.

I like Isaac Cruz's offense and tenacity in the ring, but against a highly technical fighter like Lamont Roach, I doubt he can use them. We have seen how he lost to Jose Valenzuela, a technical fighter who gave Isaac Cruz a complete beatdown.

For Pitbull Cruz to win the fight, he needs to impose himself and not give Roach any room to adjust. For Roach to win, he needs to neutralize Cruz’s aggressiveness by making him miss often, frustrating Pitbull, and countering Pitbull’s aggression.
If the match ends in a knockout, Pitbull will emerge the winner. If the fight goes the distance, I see Roach winning the battle by a wide margin.

This is the closest possible scenario, but I think it goes the distance. Lamont will respect the power of Cruz, so he’ll take the fight in a way that favors him. He’ll make Cruz miss, let him waste energy, while Lamont just jabs and scores. It might end up a bit boring since their styles don’t really match, but for bettors, we already know which fighter is more likely to win, and even the odds are telling us that.

From what I know about this fight, it could be immense pressure on Roach, who might not be super confident. Cruz is very confident in himself and quite decisive in some matches. Roach's IQ can let him win as well. It's tough, but for me, it might be for Cruz since he wants to show the world what he is capable of after losing to Davis.

You can’t question Cruz’s confidence, his style says it all. He’s always the aggressive one, I’ve never seen him in a fight where he wasn’t the one pushing forward. But that same style is also what costs him fights, because he’s not good at making adjustments. So for me, his only real chance here is if he can KO Lamont, and we all know Lamont is very technical and hard to beat by knockout.

Anything can happen, sure, we all have our own picks. But for me, I’m voting for Lamont to win by UD.

On Lamont Roach not being very much confidence and being on much pressure on the fight, I disagree on Roach not being very confident, however, I agree that being on much pressure on the fight is a correct assessment.

Roach had the victory on the fight against the scammer Tank, yes you can argue it was a draw, but it was a victory on Roach. This will give him much confident against Pitbull, however, he will be shocked on the type of pressure Pitbull will give him.
