I found it super interesting that even banks are adapting to this trend. Before it was just raffles, lotteries... now it's betting sites! At some point this was going to happen, but I didn't imagine it would be so close to the user. It could end up affecting people who don't like this kind of thing and even damage the bank's image.

It’s not surprising since bank will always follow the money. Gambling now contributes a lot of transactions due to the existence of online casino.

I remember bank in my country doesn’t allowed transactions from a casino before but now they accept it and became gambling friendly for users.

Basically, that's it. Increasing availability to gamble 24/7/365, along with increasing promotion of it. When you could only gamble physically and it was frowned upon, the level of gambling was much lower. Now it's not only better regarded, or not so bad, but even promoted by influencers. And since you can gamble even while you're taking a shit, that's what happens.

We had Covid that spread massively during 2020 - 2022, and now we have gambling to replace it. Every videos, promotion, even a tweet by CT i always saw gambling promotion there. No doubt that if it's getting massively adopted the humanity, but sadly our people are not ready in accepting the fact that gambling is just becoming a new plague that hits almost every generation now.

What do you expect? Gambling is the biggest way to loot the public, because people want to make money and they are too desperate for it. Even banks are now advertising gambling stylishly on their platform for their customers, I am not surprised that this is happening and the true winner is those that are running the casino business not the gamblers.

The government, the influencers, the banks will only go after something if looting is assured, be smart people, I  a gambler too but I don't let others result in gambling affects me, gambling pandemic is a thing because of the money they are making from it, where there are millions of people only very few needs to win, in a country with 1million people if 100,000 people can win big it is more than enough, but the rest will lose which will bring higher return for casinos.

Well, when we come up with such claims as this, it would make absolutely sense for us to be country specific because it is common sense to know that this is definitely not happening in every parts of the world, and it will be plainly being stupid to think that this very claim is happening every where around the world..

I would love to know how many countries the mentioned YouTuber have traveled to and how many banking related apps, shopping apps he has used from different countries around the world..
One thing can not be happening every where in this world at the very same time, else, bitcoin adoption would be happening in every parts of the world right now, the world isn't that a small place.

I completely agree with this opinion, because now when I go to food delivery apps or banking apps, they are full of mini-games that allow you to win promo codes or discounts or accumulate points that will give you tickets to possibly win an apartment or a car.
Basically, they're all obsessed with giving their users a chance to win and capturing people's interest. It's truly like an epidemic. And the trouble is, those who don't participate feel guilty about not helping themselves win an apartment or make their lives easier.

There was a post before about a banking app showing gambling ads, but I’m not sure which country the OP is from. In my experience, my own banking apps don’t have any gambling links or ads, and that makes sense, since most governments don’t allow that kind of promotion. In fact, even here, apps like GCash and Maya already removed their payment links from gambling sites.

But we also have to accept that the world is changing fast. Everything’s online now, and gambling has become more popular than ever. It’s not something we can completely stop anymore, so the best thing we can do is to educate ourselves and minimize the risks that come with it.

Perhaps it's all due to government regulations that allow them to do so, as these platforms wouldn't be able to advertise gambling if they themselves weren't allowed to. After all, they're businesses, and they're looking for ways to make money, even if it means marketing services that aren't intended for them. They simply don't care, and as long as they can do it, they'll happily advertise it.

It’s crazy how gambling mechanics have quietly invaded almost every corner of modern apps it used to be that you had to go to an actual casino or betting site to get that dopamine hit now it’s everywhere hiding behind “mini games” “spin the wheel” or “limited time reward” features even stuff like ordering food or paying bills now comes with a slot machine sound effect and flashing lights. The scary part is that most of these things are disguised as “fun engagement” or “customer loyalty” programs but they’re built on the same psychology that gambling uses the brain doesn’t care whether you’re betting real money or spinning for a discount it still releases dopamine when you “win” and that’s how they hook people they blur the line between playing and paying.

Companies know people love that little rush so they use it to keep users glued to their apps and spending more even kids are getting exposed early through these fake harmless looking reward systems and by the time they’re older the behavior is already ingrained it’s like being conditioned to chase rewards constantly. Yes, this may be true, but if I post from my own perspective, since I was very young, I know gambling and betting are a means to try your luck, but the chance to lose is very high than the chance to win. Another things is that, as people get addicted, what make them continue to lose money and continue to gamble in long term? I think such warning will not still be effective for those that will become addicted.

I also had the mindset that gambling was a means of making quick money. Popular ads then used to portray how easy winning big was. Exactly, and I want to express my point that I don't view this as something entirely negative. There are advantages. For example, in food delivery services, you can win discount promo codes in their mini-games. It's essentially like trading your attention and time for savings. For example, to be more precise, I'd say it's easy to get a 10 percent discount on groceries, sometimes 15 percent, and in very rare cases 20 percent. This is a good savings, and users don't have to spend a lot of time playing these games.

I don't think anyone should be suprised about the recent gambling epidemic, although several factors contributed to it but you should understand that technology is advancing and different sectors linked to it would also advance too thereby drawing the attention of people to follow the new trend, and we all know that since crypto has been adopted to gambling it has made it easier for fast deposits and also given the gambling sector more visibility. I really don't see gambling as a bad idea although not gambling responsible has it's own disadvantage and that should be the major focus and not seeing gambling as something that's totally negative like some folks do

It is the gambling companies that are paying a lot of advertising to anywhere and anyone they can find. When you say banking apps I am assuming fintech institutes or apps not traditional banking apps like Bank of America for example because with law is forbidden that a bank to promote gambling or other not so accepted by society trends if I can call them so. Now for all other apps it is allowed and they want a lot of money from different sources and if it comes from gambling then so be it. I have seen the spin the wheel on almost every app except on banking apps.
I have seen few other games too, on shopping and educational apps but not on banking apps.
May be games are present in banking apps in foreign countries but its not happening in India yet.

It's frustrating how you are searching for something else in the Internet and off a sudden soke ads popup and then redirect you to another website which is from a gambling platform.

The redirection can really be frustrating and waste of time if you are actually searching something important. Sometimes you are ask to skip in some seconds like 5 seconds which means you have to wait for it to elapse. I think this is what is going on with the rate of unemployment and chase for survival that makes many people to believe that gambling can provide them means of survival and the gambling companies are there to give them such platform of trier and error, luck and hopeful feeling. In fact if you watch videos online, you can't escape the short videos poping out on intervals. I believe they do that with banks more because they know you can easily register and transfer.
