THE ROLE OF SPORTS IN NATIONAL PEACE

There are countries where there's plenty of different population groups and in these occasions if football and generally sports associations aren't corrupt they can help foster better community between people of different backgrounds.

Sadly though competitive sports teams are mostly controlled by wealthy elites who seek to exploit communal differences for profit so for them playing out these stereotypes is in their interests. Maybe in a world where sports aren't controlled by money sports can contribute more to peace.

You can see an example of sports being more divisive in the winter Olympics where Russia is excluded while the olympic committee hadn't done anything against Israel who is committing a genocide.

That's true, we see the national teams being sponsored by the rich people although they've got their agendas there.

The essence of being united into one sports from different nations is still there but, it seems that becoming lack of sincerity when these wealthy elites are investing in it as well.

While I still believe that sports have a huge role into the unison of athletes that only has one voice to say and that's about world peace.

One big proof that sports between nation brings peace is the world cup tournament held many times, I could ask, what actually bring peace after world war I, II. Because it's amazing how Nation who once fought and kill each other started to have peace together to the point of trusting each other.

I think that could only happen through mutual sport competitions between Nations or other means too, world cup and other Olympic competitions also had brought peace and dignity among each other, I could attest to that.

While there are athletes that don't get that much support, and that's why when an elite tries to support them. They don't mind what's the agenda behind that support and they'll just accept it.

So, they have no option. They want to pursue that career they have as an athlete and one way of continuing it is to accept any help from those politicians or elites that have to push for their narratives.

I agree, world cup and Olympics. These kinds of competitions really are putting people altogether.

There's just pure enjoyment and competition and forgets if there are some gaps between participating nations.

I've heard a couple of times were people say a match is fixed to fauster peace between communities.  Players come together and play locally have fun and close.
Does sporting activities really play a role of bring peace to communities or even nations? If yes kindly state some ways it plays that. 
Or do they just play these games just first the fun of the games and leave?

Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I'm sure there were a lot of fights between the fans of different clubs in the past and some of those fights could to some bigger conflicts even. Speaking of fixed matches, I remember participating in Ukrainian sailing championship when I was a kid, and since it was held in Kyiv and after five races three first places were took by Kievites, including myself being on the second place, the rules were changed so that someone from another city could appear in the top 3 and because of that I took the 4th place. Was I happy about it? Not really.
