Compulsory leadership training before occupying a position.

This is where some governments are missing it in the area of quality leaders, they don't care what will happen to the future of the youth than to fix their relatives in those position for selfish interest that will cause damages to the country. When someone is well trained in the area of  leadership, it will give the person the ability to impart youths that will become leaders of tomorrow, because they have learned what will help them to flow well in their various position.

Whenever you see a quality leader you must surely see good character around him or her, because that is what will make the leader to achieve his purpose in the society.

The ability to lead make you a good leader. You don't need to have a straight character for you to lead people. You know why? No matter how yo act there will always be people that will say good or bad about your judgement. As a leader, you only need to do what is right even if it affects what you believe in or don;t reflect your character. However, we always see the opposite in our current leader. They will rather put themselves first before the masses.

No one is born a good leader, even though Leadership is your birth right. You grow into being a leader and that's training.
It might not necessarily be schooling, but learning under people who has learnt.

Training and retraining is very important in whatever a person is doing and so it is in the leadership field. Most leaders who are first timers in the public offices usually deliver worst performance overtime, some get better as they proceed while others remain weak until the end of their term. However it is very important to be trained before resumption of any public office holders. This will allow them to have what it takes to lead the ever dynamic world. Any leader that is trained will perform better. Most of the leaders only win because they have the money and political thugs behind them.

Assuming that there is a leadership training and it is mandatory for them to undergo it before they can get the position they seek, this politicians won’t have any problem going for it.
Leadership training won’t help, this leaders has undergone several training, formed organizations where they can lead well but all that wont hide their real characters.

I understand that a bad leader would always be a bad leader, but still, leadership training is not not bad decision. Some  leaders who are first timers easily get misled by their godfathers and get led into making so many decisions that they wouldn't make if they knew the implications. So we can achieve better in leadership when we have a citizen wellness orientated training before assuming a public office.

I think character is very important in becoming a good leader. Some of the few qualities you need to possess as a leader includes integrity, honesty, vision, adaptability, how to inspire people, good communication skills etc. Some one that does not have this qualities can't be a good leader, because these qualities are very important for a leader. Most of this qualities are definitely the character of a person, so that why I say character is very important to be a good leader. Going to an institution to learn how to lead does not necessarily make you a good leader,  rather the qualities you possess in your character helps you become a better leader,  that's why they say some people are born to lead, even without going to any institution to learn how to lead.

I believe that the most important quality of a leader is no other than accountability. What we see now as a big decline in the quality of leadership is lack of accountability. Where proper accountability exists, corruption is reduced to the barest minimum. You wouldn't embezzle public funds when you know that you must account for every penny spent and there is an independent judiciary system to hold you responsible. the leaders are not accountable and even the judiciary that would hold them accountable are mostly compromised leaving corruption to become the order of the day.

Its a pity that in todays criteria for selection of a leader, there is no much emphasis on having a leadership certificate training, that is why some are not even passionate about it, instead they go into politics and leadership position just to be able to have power and control others, a good leader set the pace for the people to follow, such is a good example that others will be so proud to follow his foot prints, before one can emerge into a leadership position, they ought to have been subjected into rigorous training that will help them discover their personal potential and what is expected of them to do for the people.

Leadership training is necessary for young growing people, they deserve it more than existing or about to be made leaders. Few years in school, some students were appointed to go for leadership training before being appointed leaders in the school, some of them did fine and others didn't. Nobody's sure of what's they'll become in life, before leadership a prospect may have done so much accomplishments for his group or company, and once they're made heads of a department life could change at their end, directly or indirectly it'll affect their working spirit in the office. No need to think that they're incompetent, a simple change can ulter all the expectations required of a leader.
