The way I see things, Trump has a grudge with Nicolás Maduro. It is not a national beef.

Although apart from Trump, there have been many complaints by foreign governments, with serious accusations of irregularities and fraud happening in the country. Trump is using that as an opportunity to seize whatever he can from the Venezuelan government.

This is not simply a grudge with between Trump and Nicolás Maduro, but a conflict of national interests. I bet that as long as the Venezuelan government continues to resist and refuse to meekly submit to the United States, regardless of who their president is. And as long as the United States has not seized Venezuela's oil, they will never cease its hostile and aggressive actions against the country with the world’s largest oil reserves.

Which countries have voiced their opposition and leveled accusations against the Nicolás Maduro government? As far as I know, most of them are allies and vassals of the United States.

There are reports in some newspapers that President Nicolás Maduro requested military assistance from Russia, China and even Iran. Russia might want to be careful to avoid more Western sanctions. China might not want to anger Wahington to avoid the start of another tarrif war. Iran is just recovering from a war with the US/Isreal and might want to focus on its internal security more than offering assitance to an ally.

In fact  it would be wrong to call it only for drugs. I will not deny that the fentanyl does not come from Venezuela but mainly from Mexico. So it is totally illogical to blame only them. From what I can see there are a lot of political and economic problems here. It is well known that Venezuela has huge oil reserves &  their government has been taking anti US actions for a long time. So they are actually a big challenge for Washington now. The Cuba story comes to mind after hearing Trumps prisoner dumping comment, but note that there is a lack of substantial evidence behind it.  So while this kind of rhetoric gets a good reception among Americans concerned about crime &   border security, I think politicians are taking full advantage of it.

I think the main purpose of the blockade &  pressure is to limit the influence of China &   Russia in the region and to bring about a change of power. In fact  it would be wrong to say that the US is attacking Venezuela only for drugs, it is just a reason, it is rooted in existing geopolitics, oil &  power games

All US claims against Venezuela are not factual. Trump claims that Venezuela is dumping prisoners in the US, but what proof does it have against them? Yes, Venezuela released prisoners, and those prisoners simply migrated to locations of their choice. The US just happened to be one of those destinations.

In my opinion, military aid at this time is unnecessary and would only make the situation worse. Because, to date, the United States has not actually launched any direct attacks on Venezuelan territory. Personally, I don't think there will be a direct war between them, instead it will be a political struggle within Venezuela’s territory. The Venezuelan people may soon face a very difficult period if the United States supports the opposition and attempts to regain power, while China and Russia pour all their resources into supporting Nicolás Maduro.

However, if the United States decides to launch a military attack on Venezuela, I wouldn't be surprised if they only do so after the war in Ukraine ends in a way that benefits Russia. If that happens, it would just be another deal between the two superpowers. Ultimately, small nations are merely pawns on their chessboard.

If there was no drugs transported to USA from Venezuela, Trump administration would find another pretending to make more pressure on the Venezuela regime. Trump said it clearly that he want to change the regime and this is to continue the process already started with Biden during his ruling period.

Why the USA wants to change the regime in Venezuela? Because it wants to control its oil resources and manipulate its economy to serve its own interests. The United States interests are mainly bolstering its strategic reserves in petrol and gradually reducing its reliance on traditional suppliers by opening the door to big companies to return again to the Venezuela market. Nothing about drug trafficking.

It's clear they are targeting Venezuela's mineral resources and are prepared to steal even more, there's no war on drugs as they claim.

Yes, there is more evidences that we have seen now that what they wanted is the Venezuelan oil. Trump first complained about migration, he later complained about drug, but now he is moving towards oil. His advisor, Steven Miller said American sweat, ingenuity and toil created the oil industry in Venezuela, that its tyrannical expropriation was the largest recorded theft of American wealth and property.

It is clearly seen that they want Venezuelan oil.

Before taking control of a country, some common accusations are made against that country. Among those accusations, drug trafficking, terrorism and democracy are very familiar. If we look at other countries in history, especially the US, the same method is still in force.

The reason for attacking Iraq was that it had weapons of mass destruction like WMD, but they could not find any evidence of those weapons after the war. Their main focus was on the oil. In exchange, civilians lost their lives.

The same situation can be seen in the case of Libya. The country had huge oil reserves, but at that time President Gaddafi sold oil in defiance of the Western sanctions, which they could not tolerate and created an unstable environment in the country due to human rights issues in various ways and destroyed the country.

I imagine it's because Trump promised to put an end to drug trafficking in Venezuela, but to do so, he must also impose sanctions on countries like Mexico, which is the main land route. In all honesty, I genuinely feel that the tension that emerges between the United State and Venezuela goes beyond just the issue of Drug fighting!! Clearly, Venezuela has one of the largest oil reserves and for years now the government of Venezuela has taken a strong position that goes against US interests and that surely makes the whole issue more of a political and economic one.. All the talk about prisoners is all cover up and another thing is that US is trying hard to limit the influence of both Russia & China in the region.

Even the eastern part of the United States was reportedly taken by force from the Mexicans according to the history that I read about it while they bought Alaska from Russia. I really wonder why Alaska was not in the main land of United States before. That could be one of the things that triggered Trump to want to buy Greenland with pressuring statements, Trump saying people in Greenland likes United States.

Trump is a lost cause. I used to think even though he's stupid, he's ambitious and could deliver what he says but he's proven to be incompetent as well.
Now I doubt he'd be able to complete his term and the harsher truth is it's not just his personal downfall but the downfall of US as well. The world would not be the same again.
