The minister is right because he is the governor of the state at the moment and whatever issues related to land in the FCT should and will always come through him, this is the reason most times we see that people see him acting out of anger, because even the solder should be on duty and not guiding personnel properties when Nigeria is under attacks.

You fail to understand that part of the duties of a soldier is the protection of lives and properties. The soldier was clearly on duty obeying orders.

Now, I am not concerned about who is right or wrong here, my concern is on the manner with which minister chose to handle the issue. It was so unprofessional and unconstitutional. It is wrong for him to have chosen verbal confrontation over legal procedures as the best means to tackle the situation. The minister has no issues with the soldier who was merely acting on orders,  who he has issues with is the one who gave the orders.  The minister should have resorted to legal means to see that the one occupying the land completes all processes for the land. The soldier is never a fool.

Both the Minister and the solder are all on the line of duties and one duty must superced the other and in this ground the minister have the political power to at least demand entrance into the property, although the way he approach them was as if he was coming to evict and demolish the property, those that leak the video online have more blames that could have been a concealed incident.

I am a military and I have dignity
That's the most interesting part for me.
As for me he did his job well done and that dignity is all he got to confront the minister  and i notice the mode of talking with a civilian and a military is far not on the same page. His Hands were in the pocket while talking to the minister and hands off the pockets while on phone with the senior officer.
I really respect the military they are really what they are. But the democratic system of government that Nigeria is in now will find a way to see that they manipulate the military in their own favor and pockets, let's pray for our country

Some of us might have heard of the trending saga online from Nigeria between the Federal Capital Territory Minister and A Lieutenant Naval Military Officer. To be brief about it, the minister has been sending policemen to stop the building project of a land owned by a retired. Naval Admiral, who was a former Chief of Naval Staff, claimed they had no documents or authorization to build, and no approval was granted.

The Admiral sent his soldiers to stand in defense of what's going on, while the Minister visits the site and has a confrontation with the Military sent by the Admiral, so that all the legal proceedings were duly followed and the land was acquired legally, as they have claimed.

But it turned into a serious argument between the Minister and the Naval Officer in charge, and this turned into a serious fight as the police escorts to the Minister engaged the Military Officers in defense of the Minister. This took them some time, and the arguments.

The Military Officer responded, Sir I'm not a fool,
I am an officer of the law,
I only obey orders

Military and Politician,  who is Superior?

Aswear some persons can be so power drunk and I really do not fancy that .from what I know this process of stop people from developing there land has been happening in the federal capital territory of which this one was just one of it. This saga happened like this because the owner is also powerful no let's think of other common citizens that do not have the voice to speak out or the power to confront the minister what happens to there property, it only means that a lot of properties has been forcefully taken away from there rightful owners and that is not a good one

Yes, I saw the news online, all I have to say is that the FCT Minister he cross the boundary because the lieutenant military officer was given a command that was what the commander instructed him to do, and he obeyed the last command, The FCT Minister has no right to issue out command to the military officer because that wasn't his territory, He went too far, all I can say is that the FCT Minister wanted to use his power to overshadow the officer, he thinks the world revolve around him, everything in life isn't all about name and power, at times a little sensitive approach matters alot.

You got it wrong he didn't say dignity, he said I have integrity always listen before you type. That's when Wike the minister of FCT said the land was illegal and till date that's not documents to back it up, Lt Yerima said he submitted all documents, then the minister said he should shut up, the Lt Yerima said he has integrity that he won't shut him up. 

They're many lessons to learn from this confrontation, both were wrong, the minister wasted to show power same inpuity the officer did too, they both just showcase how useless this country is, wike on the other hands knows the owner of the land but as usual he wants the General to bow for him as the gods of FCT, he has used his office to grab land for his friends and family. But this particular land brought disgraced to him.
