How true is this statement? Drugs has no relationship with gambling

I think there probably is a noticeable correlation between drug use and gambling. Both can trigger similar reward pathways in the brain making people more likely to chase a “high” or thrill.

When someone struggles with addiction in one area they can be more vulnerable in another. Drugs can lower judgment and self control which may lead to riskier gambling behaviour. The two issues often show up together especially in people dealing with stress or emotional problems.

Drug is for relaxation purposes, and it doesn't trigger someone into using half of his savings to gamble. If there's any of your loved ones who uses half of his savings to gamble and blames it on drugs, just know that the person is lying to you because what can possibly make someone gamble with his or her half savings is addiction.

I think there is no direct or obvious connection, but we cant deny that sometimes one comes with another hand to hand. Drugs and gambling give different emotions and people who see emotions from drugs are not interested in emotions that gambling give. I think that those who are lucky to win big money, when bored (have tried so much things for entertainment, that there is nothing left except drugs), can do drugs. Or they can do drugs if they won, lost a lot and are in depression.

Indeed drugs has nothing to do with gambling, not every gambler is a drug addict. People look at those that deal with gambling addiction and just conclude that they are drug users whereas that might not be the case. There are times when things goes too extreme that we can attribute it to the influence of drugs but at the surface, drugs has little to do with a gambler becoming addicted or becoming wild towards his gambling lifestyle. either he is clearing his head when he becomes addicted or he is just taking it to help him gamble well, both are completely bad and has every tendency of ruining the person involved and hence. gambling alone is addictive and combining it with drugs makes it even worse.

We cannot automatically associate gambling to drugs since not all gamblers are doing that heinous activity.

Maybe it just happen that there are people using that or under influence of drugs while gambling but we cannot generalize every addicted gambler are into that situation since imagine the dame to the community also for their selves that might happen if that two addiction will combine.

I don't see any relationship between drugs and gambling because they are both distinct entities. One can gamble but not take drugs, you don't necessarily need to take drugs to feel better after a loss. So you're calling all gamblers drug dealers?

I believe it's a personal decision on what to do to best feel okay after a massive loss. Some people workout, take a long rest, listen to music or go to the beach. There are different ways to clear your head and not necessarily drug intake.

This is not fact but your intuition and should not be categorized generally, that's a total misunderstanding of the concept of gambling.

Several studies have linked gambling to drug use. Other researchers have linked gambling to alcohol abuse, sex, porn and caffeine addiction. Gambling addicts could use diverse means to escape from the pain or disappointments of reality. I know many gambling addicts who don't abuse drugs. They are used to losses that they can handle it without any external influnce.

If he gambles with drugs, that will be related. But if they just gamble without using drugs, that will not be related. I have seen gamblers who just gamble without touching drugs and when I ask them about drugs, they say that don't use that, that will take your health and cause you to die. You can gamble but don't use it together with drugs. Once you get in touch with drugs, you will not have a clear mind but you will be seen as a stupid person who can't think clearly. Drugs take over your brain and make you crazy and addicted. Perhaps that is different but once you are addicted to one or both things, your life will be ruined.

I still hang out with friends who are also gamblers. Maybe we meet pretty often and talk about anything, including gambling. We have been together for quite a while, and I know that none of them use drugs. 
But I think it’s also related to the environment in which you gamble. When you gamble with friends who are both gamblers and drug addicts, there is a possibility that when you face the pressure of losing, you might be tempted to use drugs. 
Your environment matters. I don’t think drugs and gambling are directly related.

Drugs, alcohol - things, that interfere you in gambling. You begin to make silly things, lose control, your brains works worse. The only time when i allow myself alcohol during the game - when i visit offline casino and don`t plan to win. But in such situation i leave my money at home, i take a part of it that i plan to spend.
And of course all of us know that drugs and alcohol is bad for everything in common life and it would be nice to avoid it.

In reality, this all comes down to individual mentality and choice. Personally, I've experienced a gambling addiction, losing a lot of money but I've never sought escape or solace through drugs or alcohol. However I can't completely rule out the link between gambling and substance use. For some drugs or alcohol can be a way to cope with stress or losses caused by gambling, the bottom line is this isn't the case for everyone.

both are very closely related, as you said if someone already has a lot of money from gambling then he will definitely fall into other negative things such as getting drunk and playing with women, but when they are in a gambling fight they rarely use alcohol and drugs because it will affect their concentration, so it all happens when they have won big and want to celebrate the win so the two are very related, for me both must be avoided because all will ruin our lives.

There are gamblers who handle their losses without relying on drugs, there are gamblers who doesn't use drugs so why would there be a connection?
They just want to blame their addiction on other things, looking for a reason to lighten their feelings.

Nothing is connecting being into drugs to how we gamble, they are different from each other, if we gamble, it does not qualify us to be into drugs or turn us into a drug addict, however, many have been into drugs for long and still gambles, but we must not mistaken them from each other, because gambling is not what lead to drugs, this must be well spelt out for the people to know, responsible is our individual preference and decision.

This statement is not true, I do not believe that drugs and gambling are two different relationships, even though we often link gamblers and drugs, if you look at the behavior of those who use drugs and gambling addicts both are problematic and risky behavior.

My understanding is that every person who loses at gambling will experience stress and financial problems, so they look for solutions to calm themselves through drugs, behavior like that will actually complicate the situation, not solve the problem. In general, the relationship between drugs and gambling does not occur together, it happens when there are problems, so it is clear that the two have different paths.

I'm just thinking out loud, but have you ever experienced taking drugs? Since this is a topic you've brought up, although I do believe that drugs have nothing to do with gambling
that part is true don't combine them because the result in the end will only be worse.

Also, those gamblers whose life savings are affected are likely the people who can no longer control their addiction to gambling. Especially if some of them also take drugs along with it,
their lives will truly be ruined
