Education has always been accessible to everyone. Even there are multiple government schools who provide education for almost free but the real question here is are these schools really educating the students? I highly doubt so. Education has been a business and schools who offer education for free or for very less amount are usually the ones who will just operate for name sake without actually educating the students.

Prestigious schools like Harvard will always be among the top institutions and even getting there is not that easy. The fees will be extremely high and getting scholarship is almost next to impossible. These institutions are premium because after graduating one can easily land up a high paying job.

Generally, low-income people cannot provide their children with good education because it has become very expensive. As we put it this way, education is needed in order to become competitive in the job market. You won't get the edge if you have no education at all, but you can always get blue-collar jobs. You are partly right, nowadays employers only give priority to students who not only have degrees but also require experience and skills. But this is not because they no longer value degrees, but because society has become more developed.

Unlike before, only people with good economic conditions could go to school fully and get degrees. Nowadays, almost everyone has that ability so a degree is becoming the most basic criterion. Therefore, recruitment criteria have changed, in addition to having a degree, students need to meet other criteria such as skills and experience.

Education is important. I remember before, the first time I became a 1st year high school student, I stopped studying because I got too caught up with my friends or playmates at that time. I was still too young during those times I was only 13 years old. That’s the major problem. Most people go to school solely to get that certification and then being fully dependent on the government for job when they graduate, this here is the reason why there are a lot of jobless graduates in most countries.
