So must probably that the people calling to lend the gambler money is a third party and they can be a business setup to be leading people money, but it is also good to be careful because scammers have different tactics.

Yes, this can be true. I also receive calls from unknown numbers and when I text them to ask who they are and why they called, they usually do not reply. It is better to just ignore calls from numbers you do not recognize.

This does not only happen with gambling sites. It can also come from websites where you registered and provided your phone number or from your Facebook page if your number is public.
If you think it is a spam call, it is best to ignore it and not answer.

There are different possibilities as to why that happened. First, maybe he played in a non-reputable casino and his private info was sold. Next would be that he clicked an ad and they got access to his number. A reputable casino will value their players because they know how sensitive KYC is. With my years of playing, I haven’t experienced such a thing. I’ve read before that some people receive calls, texts, and emails from lending apps after signing up, even though they didn’t take a loan yet. It’s best to ask their support or just change your number and email for security purposes.

The person might have used his number to register in a loan app before. Some of these loan apps are affiliated with each other the moment you borrow money from one of them they share your details with their subsidiaries. I have similar experience but mine wasn't coming from a gambling platform. It was coming from a platform were I took a loan from. As for casinos I don't register with my mobile numbers and my document for kyc don't have my mobile number either. That's how I know that the calls for loans were coming from the loan platform.

Why should someone wise start listening to an unknown caller promising them money, fast loans, etc? It is obviously a scam. There is no free thing in this world; people should stop being foolish and later start blaming the casino for becoming victims of to scam. Yes, most casinos go against the agreement they made in their Tos. But that should not warrant us to be careless and not be vigilant of scam attempts.

If you cant trust the gambling platform to secure your private information, don't use it at all.
Having said that, I have never come across a gambling platform that requested my phone number for the KYC process if the subject was about address and ID. I would believe it's possible because what was pointed out here is something social media platforms like Facebook do with their user private information since it's something that has to do it promotion.

Meanwhile, if anyone doesn't want to share his/her private information, why not use a gambling platform that's totally no KYC, like 2UP.io, and save themselves from all this drama?

You are correct; gamblers need to know this. If you are not okay with giving the gambling site information that seems to be vital to you, there is no need to gamble with a casino like this. I know of some gambling sites where the phone number can be used as a user ID, but I don't know if gambling sites go to the extent of giving it out.

However, I doubt in this case if the person's phone number was given out; I’m sure this happened immediately after registering with this gambling site. I think people need to know whether the gambling site they are dealing with is genuine or not, and if the details they are asking for are ones they think shouldn't be given out, then they shouldn't bother trying to test the casino or even the gambling site.

When KYC information is leaked, it is very complicated to know from where it was leaked. Because KYC is used in many places for different purposes at different times. When I opened a bank account, I used it and when I went to play at the casino, I had to do KYC in multiple places. In this way, KYC has been done in multiple places. It is not known from where it will be leaked but if someone does not use KYC in multiple sectors but uses KYC in any one sector and if that data is leaked then maybe it can be known.

The fact that he said that different numbers started calling him and telling him that he is qualified for a loan makes me raise an eyebrow, because it's possible that some other platform like bank must have shared his information to other loan facilities platform. This is not just the doing of online casinos but other platforms can also sell users details to other of their sub platform or a company that they are affiliated to. Meanwhile, casinos are not innocent of doing that, there could be some data leaks and they will not publicly announce that they had a data leakage, therefore we should be careful with any platform we are using.

It’s as simple as that and sometimes we do push blame to anything which we find ourselves in at some point but the reality is that one could even have gotten involved with some activities that left them prone to such calls but perhaps since they signed up for a casino the problem shit the blame’s there since they can’t take full responsibility but however I’m not also rooting for casinos because some casino operators or owners can be more greedy or desperate that they can sell you information for money.

Your personal information can get into the wrong hands due to a lot of reasons, when the casino you make use of is taken over by a new management the details of users can be used wrongly. Another possible reason for this is when an agent who no longer works dor the casino company takes some of these informations to run a scam. We must be really careful with the casinos we upload our info

Firstly we must address the fact that the internet is never safe neither is the casino taking your information yet they owe the responsibility of keeping there out of reach of scammers but that your information should be given put is your sole concern and you must have read the terms and conditions regarding the KYC before you can upload them but however I don't buy the story of calls because of one uploaded KYC I doubt that, yet not saying it's not possible.

But I’ve heard people complaining about this same thing, but the truth is that, even if there’s every possibility that casinos may actually e responsible for this, it’s also very possible that the user may have compromised his details or inputted his details into some places he wasn’t meant to.

The last person I saw complaining about this was not suspecting the casinos but his local bank, as he claims that they’re the only ones who has access to those details, but those are just merely suspicions, except they’re able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that it’s actually true.

According to the OP, it was not even that he had taken the loan and did not payback in the due time. As made obvious he never applied for a loan from the site so they have no genuine obligations asking calling in respect of loan.

It is absolutely improper and what I sense there is either the calls is coming from scammers or the gambling is fond of encouraging irresponsible gambling through providing players more funds to proceed gambling when they are out of funds.

This is the first time I am hearing about an experience like this, but I am not really surprised because any KYC based gambling site can be selling users information or even those users information got hacked from their system and scammers are taking advantage of it. Since the callers were asking of loan, it may be that they liaise with the gambling company in order to get more patronage through the loan they’ll be giving to the gamblers.

They are after vulnerable gamblers that have no other choice when they’re gambling and are desperate to gamble. This practice is not welcoming at all and one needs to be careful where our informations are being given out on. Not all casinos who claim to demand for KYC should be tolerated, especially those that don’t have reputation. Your personal information are most important to you and you should not trade it for anything else.

There is no problem with the sites, but the problem is the people who work inside. We're really not sure what these people are doing after completing KYC. Sometimes it just gives us surprises that someone from another room knows us.

I know many casinos have followed safety protocols and respect the privacy of their players, but we can't say with confidence that we are safe. As we hand over our information, we already assume that they will keep it safe. But if they have some plans of giving our information to others, we can't stop them.

People needs to be careful of the types of Casino's that they deal with because with the rate at which scammers are looking for any possible way to scam people, I don't think that it's actually safe to be uploading your sensitive information to Casino's because in as much as Casinos will tell you that your information is safe with them. We should not forget the place of eventuality and compromise that may arise in the part of the Casino.



This whole idea of KYC is something that Casinos are taking seriously of recent and that is why I don't personally understand. Because when someone is opening an account and depositing money on the Casino they will not tell you to do KYC but when comes to withdrawals that is when they will tell you about KYC.

I used to use the "+" in Gmail to mark the site I was registering for. I don't know if it still works, but it used to work, and it even worked with other platforms.
