You are getting this all wrong and I don't mean that your experience is going to make you over profitable or it is going to change the outcome of your bet. Being an experienced gambler can give you an edge over others that are new to gambling.
Experience alone can give you the opportunity to make more profit from what others might be struggling to get.

I guess I'm understanding the point @lida is trying to make, and by that I mean he is only trying to emphasize that by being experienced as a gambler don't stop you from losing even while gambling, but it's only just that it gives you an edge into making more calculated entry in all games, which are likely to end in profit. But in a scenario as O.P portrays above regarding the inability of gamblers stop chasing losses, is the reason why majority are addicted today. And because of that, that is enough reason why as a gambler, it's always good one has a stipulated budget he or she is willing to lose at each gambling session, and when you exhaust your limit, you probably just call it a day off. Moreover, both experiences and non experienced gamblers still loses at each point in time.

Okay then. If it's about having the wisdom to know how to manage yourself with your gambling decisions then I agree about that edge which can mostly be gotten through series of experiences because where a newbie gambler may not notice a danger, an experienced gambler would do and know what right choice to make asap. Yes it is true, everyone is responsible for there actions and we are all entitled to make our own decisions so whatever the outcome maybe we are to face it on our own. We can only advise people on how they should spend or throw money but it is left for them to do whatever they feel is right for them like wise when the consequences for there wrong decision comes they will have to face the mess alone.
