Human needs are not always fixed in a fixed place. Time and circumstances change them or they are forced to change. For example since I have been working for money and my salary has increased every year my financial condition has not improved due to the effect of inflation. At that time, when I was getting a salary of $500, I thought that if my salary was $600, I would be able to live better but next year with the increase in salary the demand increased along with inflation. I mean if I was getting a salary of $1000 at that time my standard of living would be adjusted accordingly and I would expect a further increase in salary. I think that there is no limit to human needs.

It all depends on a person's ambitions. In my experience, people most often seek a comfortable level where they have enough money for everything they need, and then they get used to it and don't try to change anything. Fewer people move on to $1,000, but they do exist, and they get stuck at that level because they can't earn more, most often due to work or small businesses. And a very small percentage of people, I think 1-3%, dare to move on and want to earn more. The hardest thing is to break out of your comfort zone when you have housing and food, and there's no desire to change anything.

The difference between success and stagnation really does come down to character diligence and self discipline because even people with average intelligence or background can get far if they stay consistent and intentional with their time. It is very easy to slip into the habit of comparing ourselves to people who appear more richer, successful, or more accomplished. It's very normal for people to adjust to the environment and start taking things for granted. For instance, when you have to wake up in the morning every day to get water from the pump outside because there's no plumbing, you get used to it and don't complain, but if you had someone who always lived in a modern home and put them in such situation, they'd complain and need many days to get used to it.
