Without any doubts winning is sweet, you will surely feel good when winning so there is no comparison between it and loses which brings sadness to the gambler. Losing is more disastrous, but when you are winning, you can get more attached to the game and feel like you control your time and your winning, which is also another point that the OP was trying to make: you forget about every other thing and get too attached to the game because you are winning, and when you start losing after that attachment, it's hard to let go, as you could easily start chasing your losses.
