Was this on a mainstream sport, because from my personal experience, I have a bookie I use and unfortunately they do a similar thing for less known sports leagues.. they limit maxbet so much you would think the bookie is watching you play & trying to frustrate you.. but it's all in how popular the sport is and the alike.
