Now I'm on the verge of opening a new wallet account and my mind is telling me to store it on my phone instead . But one question still hits me .."What if someone steals your phone?". "And the person that stole your phone already knows your phone password?" Will he not automatically have access to your seed phrase? All of these questions leaves me in Hobson's choice ...any idea?
You are not even suppose to store your seed phrase on your phone, the risk is just too high if you do that, because if anything happens to your phone, then you going to be losing access to your seed phrase also. Your seed phrase shouldn’t be stored in a place where there is interest connection, make sure you store it in a place that’s completely offline. Writing your seed phrase on a paper is a good option, but instead of writing it on paper, then why don’t you carve it in iron steel. If it’s written on paper, the paper can easily be destroyed, but if it’s carved on an iron steel, then it’s just going to be so difficult to be destroyed. If you carve it on Iron steel, then just have multiple of it and store it in different locations, if anything happens to one of it, then you will be able to make use of the other ones which you stored in different locations.

~ but memorizing will not be bad either.
Dont try to memorize your seed phrase. Thats a really bad idea. The best way to keep it safe is to write it down and store it in various secure, offline places.

Writing it down in your jotter wasn't a bad idea as far it's private to you but not having a backup was where the problem was. This menomics needs duplicates because no single place of storage is 100% safe, there could be issues of water disasters, fire outbreak, theft, misplacement and even relocation issues. If there was a backup storage there would have been no need of creating a new wallet.
One of the common things that people do when it comes to a seed phrase most people just write it down in a book, but the issue with that is that paper can be easily destroyed, so even if you are writing on paper, you should also back it up somewhere safe, which can be easily destroyed, so when you are going for something to back it up it has to be something that will resist a lot of things that anyway anytime you will have access to your seed phrase, that is the whole idea of backing your seed phrase up. Writing the seed phrase in an airgap object is not enough if the object used is only a paper or notebook, which cant resist natural disasters. If the BTC is something we treasure, the use of austenitic stainless steel of grade 316L, which has good resistance to different stress/disaster, is always the best. People know what will work for them when it comes to keeping their seed phrase.
No. It is not everyone that knows what works for them when it comes to safeguarding their wallet seed phrase. If what you said is true, we won't have seen someone like OP creating this topic.

The safest place is anything that you never connect with internet. But in your thread, you're not exactly asking about the safest place, but the most convenience place. If we're talking about convenience, saving in device could be a solution, make sure to not save in cloud. Why saving in device is enough? because there's no way for you to forget with your device, this is not like a jotter or any cheap stuff. But one question still hits me .."What if someone steals your phone?". "And the person that stole your phone already knows your phone password?" Will he not automatically have access to your seed phrase?
And why the person who stole your phone can knows your phone password? this more about your personal mistake over common risk. I think there's no one know my password, even my parent or close friends, it's impossible for them to know except the one who steal my phone was a hacker.

I personally put everything on a notebook thing same on my seed phrase written down, plus have a separate thing on a flash drive just in case to have a backup.
The safest probably that most of the members here is going to recommend is the metal plate engraving thing, where you engrave your seed phrase on a metal piece, because it is safe in case your house get burned accidentally, you get that peace of mind that your seed phrase is still intact. I've read some here where they just memories their seed phrase seems to be a good approach as well, but probably not in a long-term situation where you might forget about it since you're not really always using it directly. For sure, the best way is just to have multiple of this things so that you could make sure that you have some kind of backup in case some of it are lost or destroyed.
If someone just stole your phone, they wouldn't have access to the seed phrase for sure, a lot of wallet is going to have a password just to open the wallet, so they wouldn't have access on the wallet unless they know the password. Also, if you want to view the seed phrase in the wallet, it would also ask you for a password, so no they wouldn't have direct access on it, you could still open your wallet on other devices or just to make sure send the money to other wallets.

I Think writing it in a piece of paper, correctly, that's the easy part, the hardest part is how can you make sure it is secure and no one will ever find out and use it to get your funds in your wallet, having multiple copy is a must, to be able for you to recover the wallet if something happens in your copy on another location from natural disaster etc. Some people do save their seed on their email which i think is not safe if you can't secure or have encrypt the copy of seed phrase in your email.

bad idea, mate there’s so many ways for your seed phrase to be compromised they don’t even need to physically access your phone in order to get it just that if someone can hack into your phone it’s game over

Way you have handled your crypto protection is very smart and addresses key areas of security. Backup, physical security, and digital safety. Best way to make sure that you do not lose access to your seed phrase is to have it in different locations such as notebook, flash drive, and most crucially on metal plate to stop fire and water damage. It is important to note that, in case of phone theft, thief will not be able to access your money as modern wallets need password to unlock it and another password to see seed phrase, which will give you with time to move your money to new, secure wallet as soon as possible.

Sometimes , the reason why we frequently need to create new wallet accounts may be because we keep losing track of where we've previously copied our 12 or 24 word seed phrase.
One of the reasons I lost my first wallet account seed phrase was simply because I had copied it in my jotter. It happened that somehow, somehow I lost the jotter. Since I could not retrieve the jotter , I ended up not being able to retrieve my seed phrase. And that was how I lost it.
Now I'm on the verge of opening a new wallet account and my mind is telling me to store it on my phone instead . But one question still hits me .."What if someone steals your phone?". "And the person that stole your phone already knows your phone password?" Will he not automatically have access to your seed phrase? All of these questions leaves me in Hobson's choice ...any idea?
a wallet’s private key or seed phrase is the most important thing because without it you cannot move the wallet to another phone or computer. if you lose your private key or seed phrase there is no way to recover it unless you find it again. i have saved mine in a few places like google drive phone notes and gmail login so if i lose my phone later i can recover everything through google. if you lose your private key or seed phrase then whatever is in your wallet will be lost completely. many people keep their wallet private key or seed phrase with friends so that if they lose it they can find it again later. but you have to remember one thing money can change anyone. a few days ago i saw a post where someone kept his private key or seed phrase with a friend because he trusted him and he had about 4000 dollars worth of tokens in that wallet. later the friend took advantage of his simplicity and stole all the money. so never give your wallet private key or seed phrase to anyone else.

Seed phrase is not something that should be carried around , if it is backed up in your phone it might be stolen and hence no safety to it. Memorizing my seed phrase is best for me , but somehow humans are prone to forget that's while I get the alternative of writing it down in my jotter just in case I forget it . It's not just about writing it down in a jotter and keeping it carelessly . Seed phrase is something private, so ensure you keep your jotter in a very safe place known by just you.

Sometimes , the reason why we frequently need to create new wallet accounts may be because we keep losing track of where we've previously copied our 12 or 24 word seed phrase. Yes, this is possible when you have a wallet but you don't have funds in it. Of course, you can easily create one when you lose track of your old wallet because a wallet without funds is as good as nothing and creating new ones will cost you nothing. One of the reasons I lost my first wallet account seed phrase was simply because I had copied it in my jotter. It happened that somehow, somehow I lost the jotter. Since I could not retrieve the jotter , I ended up not being able to retrieve my seed phrase. And that was how I lost it. It sounds obvious you only lost the wallet and not money. Had it been you have worthy asset in the wallet, you would have hold on dearly to that jotter.
Now, you sound like someone who's ready to succeed in this space by asking this question. There are several threads that discuss this similar topics. You should check out this Metal Bitcoin storage reviews. or this How to back up a seed phrase?Mind you, the security and safety of your passphrase depends solely on you. If you mishandle your keys, you will lose your coins in a blink of eyes. Even with your keys on jotter, if you store it very well no one can access it but the life span of a paper is very short and it'll begin to fade away your keys in a very short time. You should consider other alternatives that's long and durable.

and my mind is telling me to store it on my phone instead .
Don't do it. Read this thread to understand why mobiles are not the proper place to store your SEED phrase. As the example of proper storage I would suggest using persistent storage on Tails secured with the strong password. Even if you lock it, the SEED must be encrypted before being stored there. I recommend encrypting it with a PGP key, preferably held on hardware key dongle such as Yubico 5. Read this to get more insights.

Phone? not an option! writing it down on a hard copy like book is the most recommended but however you are sure things can go south if written on a book you can as well too make duplicate copies of the books, and keep them in separate locations and most likely to yourself.
Additionally, someone mentioned long ago that he wrote his seed phrase in a religious book (bible or quran) I don't know but he said no one has clue of it since it's a religious book, but memorizing will not be bad either.
Yes, most people store their seed phrases or keys handwritten on a piece of paper, but it's not recommended to keep them in one place to minimize the risk of total loss if the paper is lost, damaged, or stolen. You can back up the copy to another secure location, such as a flash drive, external hard drive, cloud storage, or other secure storage that can be double-locked with 2FA. If you have extra cash, some consider this a fairly safe way to store Bitcoin. You can purchase a Cryptosteel Capsule and store it in your safe. Memorizing your Bitcoin seed phrase is not recommended, as the potential for loss is much higher.

When you are writing your seed phrase in a place, I don’t think it’s so proper to write it in just a place, you can just decide to write and store it in multiple places, incase if anything happens to one, you will know you have a back up. If it’s written on a paper, if anything happens to the paper then you won’t be able to recover your seed phrase, but if written on paper, and you store it in different locations, you going to know that if one gets destroyed, you still have back up. Nobody is praying for bad things to happen, but we should always expect it, we should be prepared for it.

The best thing would be to try to memorize your seed phrase so you always have it in your head. I know it’s hard to learn 12 or 24 words, but it’s doable. If you still can’t manage that, the best option is to have it written down somewhere on paper and keep it with you as a very important document, because storing it online or on your phone is definitely not a good option.
I think that I have come across someone did said this as well before. Yes, it's doable but this is also risky, you'll never know what might hit our heads soon and the risk there is about forgetting even one of the word then it's all gone forever. This won't work for me so, writing it on a paper is the best option and the ones that are being provided by the hardware wallets is the first choice but if someone finds that out, obviously that it's a seedphrase of a crypto wallet and for sure that there's something in it. There are a lot of wonderful ideas that I've read before like writing a poem or a sort of haiku or of the same where you'll just try to be creative inserting those key words that are part of the seed phrase.

This is one example what could happen when you think your brain memory is reliable enough. One guy was stupid enough to implement a computer chip into his body, but he forgot his password. This is cyberpunk dystopia, and you can literally replace this with anything else including bitcoin passphrase; https://futurism.com/future-society/lost-password-chip-magician

~ but memorizing will not be bad either.
Dont try to memorize your seed phrase. Thats a really bad idea. The funny part was after the comment from the OP the Main OP went ahead posting this on the thread they opened before this particular because they seem confused about seed and how it can be stored entirely. There's nothing wrong with it though, it's only bad if that's the only option OP wants to tick. OP can still memorise the seed phrase + having multiple backups like the written, I know sooner than later he would forget . Apart from that, we don't pray for accident that could lead to loss of memories but If that eventually happens then there's no hope that OP or any other person will ever recover the wallet again.

The safest place to write down a seed phrase is something that is waterproof and that can resist fire. One example of waterproof and what can resist fire is metal steel. But seriously, my seed phrases are still written in a book. I make sure that it is not just one book I wrote them down in three different books and keep them in three separate locations, in case anything happens. That way it isunlikely that all of them would be affected at the same time at most maybe one.
Honestly, I am also planning to engrave my seed phrase on steel very soon. But if someone doesn’t have steel, it is not that bad to write it down in a book.but saving a seed phrase on phone is very dangerous because can be stolen or lost, especially since people carry their phones everywhere and once it lost or stolen that it end if your access to your wallet.

To have things are waterproof, fireproof, acidproof, shockproof and more, you can consider metal seed storages. They are not free but if you consider your fund safety against water, fire, acid, shock ... than a little bit cost spent for these metal storage, it's really worthy spending.
