Just as the title has already caption it..
I want to know; who is a gambler and what are the characteristics of a gambler?

Reason being that, in this section we often tends to be seeing several posts about people calling themselves gamblers, but truth be told, if you play slot today and didn't play again tomorrow or next or even till a month interval would that person be called a gambler?
If NO, who then is to be called a gambler?

If a person gamble today and lose and stoped gambling the next day second day and so on maybe like interval of a month,, such person can still be classified as a Gambler because he can place a bet and minimize his risk. Aren't we the ones that preach about being a responsible Gambler? So if you ask me I would say the guy is just being careful in other not to make silly mistakes. Maybe avoiding to become a Gambling addict or so.

And we can as well say this is his mentality on how he sees gambling to be. As every other can have their own idea on how gambling is supposed to be to them. Most persons quit for sometimes whenever they come to some amount of loses, not because they are not a gambler, but base on what you have said so far, they are only trying to keep their selves free from becoming an addict, and this will be achieved by the principle you might have kept within you. As long as you have made a bet, to earn a reward, then you are gambler, but can not say that you a chronic or addicted gambler.

also with wins too some people do not really know how to manage themselves when they lost and it's very concerning because sometimes it can get some persons into depression.

This is very true, when people fall into depression things are usually difficult only for that person, it's something that should be avoided. Personally, I say something if a person knows they have certain weaknesses they shouldn't gamble. If you are putting your money or assets on the line to gamble, you're a gambler at that moment. It doesn't matter whether or if it's your first time, your hundredth, or even just for five minutes. When you choose to gamble or bet, you are actually taking a risk, and that makes you a gambler in that instant. Being a gambler, it is not about labels or how often you do it, it is about the action. Some people gamble once in a year and people will addressed them as gamblers for that hour, some people gamble daily and they will be identify or address that way too. Because, if you are placing a bet, you're are gambling, and as long as you gamble, you're a gambler. It is as simple as that. It doesn't mean it defines you as a person, but for that moment, that's actually what you're doing.

Oh there I see some people who barely places bets on the regular saying they are not gamblers and believes gamblers are those who shows dedication or those that bets impulsively with a high expectations attached with their emotions.
This is not even that them that bets rarely don't have expectations neither do they play the games without any attachment of emotions.
Some people are just fond of fooling themselves because all I see between anyone that places bets whether regularly or irregular are gamblers

I would say "Risk"...but one way or the other we all risk something valuable....so does that makes us Gamblers?😁...i dont think so...
So just risking something valuable doesn't make us gamblers...but when this lifestyle becomes a pattern for everyday life... something you no longer have control over...then,it becomes unhealthy...

So I think a gambler is someone who "Gambling" to him/her is more than an occasional choice...it's something they do regularly that affects them negatively..

There are also gamblers that don't like to talk much whether they are making money from betting or losing money, they always like to keep their lifestyle private without announcing their revenue from gambling.

Yes he would be called a gambler. Why Because he already has experience even if he doesn't play every day. Like if you think about it gambling is a game that is played for fun. If you as a gambler keep playing every  day like  basically you might even  end up being addicted to it which would be bad. That's why for me a gambler is a risk taker who is fully aware that there isn't any guarantee of his funds but is still willing to play. That's just it it doesn't actually depend on playing every day before you can call yourself a gambler. It's easy to say as long as you have experience even if it's little, you can also be called a gambler. That's all.it's all about experience and willingness to take the risk......

Basically, such a gambler will not be easy to find. Who will stop gambling or control gambling as soon as they lose in today's gambling? It is very difficult to find such a gambler. Gambling is inherently risky, but not everyone has the ability to realize it. Because the one who considers gambling risky and gambles very carefully or can control gambling is an experienced gambler. There are many gamblers who gamble mainly for fun, but while playing this fun game, at some point they become so addicted to gambling that they cannot get out of gambling addiction even if they want to. And gambling addiction can certainly be very dangerous for a person, so one should refrain from gambling addiction and warn others. There are many gamblers who are unable to fulfill their responsibilities to their families due to gambling addiction, so one should refrain from this type of gambling addiction.

Very correct, if Many addicted can admit that they are addicted, gambling addiction would not have been a problem, because there is saying that if we as humans can admit to our problems which is identifying them, then such problem is half solved, is only a person that knows his problem that can allow people to help him in anyway.

Some people just want to prove a point, perhaps trying to prove wrong the person who's talking them out of what they want to involve in, but it's not always about proving a point when it comes to certain activities, especially gambling, you must be emotionally strong and with self discipline to have a healthy gambling lifestyle that you don't have to fall into addiction even without knowing you have. There are people who suffers gambling addiction today but are unaware somehow.
