Id say there are probably a much larger concentration of casual gamblers as opposed to addicted gamblers and I feel like there are also a lot less like critical or severe cases of gambling than we think but I could also be wrong. I think there is no need to think about the matter so critically, if we generally say that when we gamble, we will be gamblers for that time, in that case, we will call those who gamble gamblers and after that, of course, we will call them responsible gamblers and who we will call addicted gamblers.
And this is also a very simple matter. Those who gamble beyond their ability to lose for a long time are called addicted gamblers and those who basically use a minimum amount of what they have the ability to lose in their free time to gamble and take gambling only as entertainment are responsible gamblers.

In my simple understanding, OP, once you gamble whether it’s online or in an offline casino you are considered a gambler, even if you only play
once a month.

Being a gambler isn't measured by how often you do it; as long as you deposit money into a casino, you are a gambler, plain and simple. Now, if you
gamble frequently say, every single day then you already have a gambling addiction, and there’s a high tendency that you’ve already lost a significant
