Saying this because addiction is very bad, it's one of the worst sickness of the brain that in some cases require extreme measures to get free from, I've been a friend to someone who was addicted to gambling and I know how seriously bad this can be, it's something I won't even wish on my enemies.

It is one of the strongest conditions a human being can experience, whatever the addiction may be, for me it is very serious , I believe that the person should be Hospitalized so that the bad thoughts do not take over that person, some kill themselves, they commit suicide and that is what must be avoided.

The last line of defence is important as intensive medical intervention is one of the major actions when one loses control over our head because of drastic addiction. The hospital setting offers close supervision, restrictive access to dangerous triggering factors but offers the necessary psychological therapy to a considerable extent. This is an important life saving measure that needs to be given first priority to avoid unwanted tragedy. We understand that life is an imperative priority to be saved under such a serious situation.

Yes gambling is all about taking risk of different kinds all for a particular purpose which is to make profit and never lost, although at times instead of making profit we end up losing in the process but that never means its primary purposes has changed. There are different types of gamblers. You have the recreational ones who play just for fun and usually with small amounts, and I think most of us here fall under that group. Then you have the professional gamblers, the ones who made gambling their actual profession, and we can assume they’re profitable or at least consistent enough to live off it.

first of all, I don't think there is anything like professionalism when it comes to gambling, no one can master gambling because it is a game of luck. saying that people live off it means that they are making it a source of income and that is not really possible to achieve.  Like I said gambling is a game of luck and those that assume they have found a way to make consistent profit are just getting lucky

The main thing is responsibility, the outcome can never be determined for sure, that is why gambling with the expectation of winning is a very wrong idea. It is normal to lose here, but if you do not accept it as normal, it will give you an abnormal reaction. You cannot accept defeat here, so if you lose, you keep playing more thinking of recovering it, but is it actually possible? Or does it keep taking more from you? You have to understand the reality, you have to stop at the right time, if you cannot stop, you should stay away from it. Everyone is a gambler, but those who are responsible gamblers here can survive here in the long run and stay away from big losses.

The only place I can place some sort of difference in gambling is for those who have the urge to gamble all the time. They don't know when to stop like they have lost control. Those set falls under the category of pathological gamblers. They are not just your normal regular gamblers who still have control over their decisions.

first of all, I don't think there is anything like professionalism when it comes to gambling, no one can master gambling because it is a game of luck. saying that people live off it means that they are making it a source of income and that is not really possible to achieve.  Like I said gambling is a game of luck and those that assume they have found a way to make consistent profit are just getting lucky

Many gamblers are unable to gamble regularly due to personal problems or financial constraints. Many gamblers do not have time to gamble due to professional obligations to meet the basic needs of the family. I do not know what level of gambler you are. The level of gambler you are is enough to be aware of being responsible in gambling. If you know what are the reasons responsible for gambling addiction and what should be the ways to prevent it you can be a responsible gambler.

The example given of addicted gamblers may apply to some gamblers but they will soon lose most of their funds because they do not stop gambling at every stage win or lose but continue to gamble just to make money.

If we only limit the definition of a gambler to what you said, then that is too narrow, and people who gamble occasionally may think they are not gambling but just playing, even though they are using money and have the chance of losing it, which means it harms them.

I think that truly professional gamblers are those who gamble regularly and consistently, who do not bet repeatedly in the hope of making money through gambling, who make decisions based on reality while gambling and do not make decisions based on emotions. And those who gamble greedily and lose money and never gamble again, and who gamble sometimes but do not make gambling a habit in their life, cannot be called professional gamblers.

That is becoming too much if a gambler reaches that point of ending their own lives. I know that it has happened but going that far shows of being irresponsible they are.

I think we as gamblers understand that there are certain limitations that we are not willing to cross and if this has come and happens to anybody. You need someone to guide you for that.

It doesn't matter if you're described as a gambler because what matters is if you can take care of yourself while you're gambling.

There is nothing as or like a gambler and an ordinary gambler, we only have gamblers and we have addicted gamblers.
A gambler can be a professional or non-professional gambler, while an addicted gambler can either be shallow or mildly addicted or chronically or seriously addicted.
