Someone on the forum contacted me saying they have BTC for sale.

The transaction can be guaranteed by the moderator, who will charge a 1% commission. Is this true?

If it is true, how does this process work? How do I get the moderator to guarantee it?

Is the guarantee safe?

A friend recommended this forum; this is my first time using it.

Yes its true, those people are called ESCROW's, they are "Middlemen"

Here is a list of trusted Escrow's on the forum > Few Trusted Escrow Providers

I can personally recommend the top three as I have many past dealings with them but not particularly
for their Escrow service. I have also dealt with willi9974 directly.
* I am not sure if minerjones is still offering the service as the ANN thread is empty

They are not necessarily moderators, but are known as escrow service providers. We have a dozen of trusted and high ranking members in the forum that offer escrow services and their fee usually varies from one escrow provider to another.

Their reputation and feedback from past trade deals is usually what makes them trusted. If you're looking to make a very big transaction, then I suggest you split it into many small transactions one at a time.

He edited the thread in June 2025 which means he probably stopped offering the service.

You can agree with the person you wish to buy Bitcoin from on the price and all other details, and then you can contact one of the escrow service providers on the forum through forum messages or their official channels only.

The transactions will be guaranteed by one of these escrow service providers. Since they have a good reputation on the forum, they will ensure that both the seller and the buyer receive their full payment.. Don't worry, just look at their previous clients and the number of transactions they have handled, and you'll see that they are deserve your trust.

Also, since I provide the BPTRADES escrow service -> [here], I can gladly assist you with this as well, and there will be no fees for the service.

Did they respond to this post?
If you have BTC to sell at a low price, please contact me.
Nobody in their right mind sells Bitcoin at a low price. Anyone who tells you they will is most likely trying to scam you.

No. Mods don't guarantee anything.

Scammers often pretend that a moderator is involved to make it sound official. Moderators don’t hold funds and don’t guarantee trades.
