I find it hard to imagine why slots would disappear. What could possibly cause this? Perhaps there are bans in some country. But on a global scale, I think this is completely unrealistic. But if we do accept that this did happen, their place will most likely be taken by games that are as similar as possible. Most likely, roulette or similar games. These are games where you don't have to think, but rather click, spin, or spin something, and the outcome is determined relatively quickly.

This is really unrealistic knowing that this game would continue to exist whatever regulation done by government. Since this is provably the primary choice to play by gamblers especially that some people enjoy its uncertainty and feeling that they have chance to hit big rewards.

For me I think I will go with live dealer games such as baccarat or black jack or maybe roulette.

I am not so confident about the use of virtual reality for gambling. Even if it has been pushed strongly to an audience that likes to adopt these things, even in the gaming realm the adoption of VR is very low. For gambling it is even worse. If you think about slots someone can just play it from anywhere with their phone. Who wants to have another heavy device on their head that needs investment, charging and care just to be able to play some of these games? It could be nice but the effort needed is much bigger than in the case of slots. I don't think that the average person would actively use something like that. From what I have seen about VR the average person uses it for a few months and then the novelty dies out and they don't use it almost at all. I am talking about average people not gamers.

It is a big loss for everyone, but I am certain that we have all focused on more than just slot games. And I don't see it enough to take down the entire gambling industry because many were not gambling for slots alone but also with sports betting and card games.

I think the other games will become more popular, not crash. Slots are popular for a reason because they came from real slot machines in land-based casinos. Crash feels like a game that exists mostly online, so I don’t see it dominating long term. I could be wrong yes, but I am trying to consider all possible user groups. That is what I am trying to say. You can't just make observations based on yourself and some few friends that you have. I do play both things, but that does not change anything about the fact that they are very different. Also as far as I know in the traditional setting, big money is being played in slots from old people who during vacation time or trips to the casino sit there for very long hours. Very good point, I didn't emphasize the cost part at all when dismissing his virtual reality stuff. If you think about it it has no chance to compete at all with slots no matter how realistically cheap headsets become. People can play slots with $1 or even less than that directly from their phone, there is no cost involved. For a decent VR we would have to spend several hundred dollars to play slots.
