Yes miners will actually reduce probably we will see more of pool miners as it is the order order of the day but this doesn’t mean that Lower number of miners directly translates to reduction in hashrate, yes the total hash rate is said to be base on the of computer hashes and less will mean reduction in hashrate but it’s not directly more miners that increases hashrate, but the equipment like ASIC, if few miners still uses higher equipment like ASIC and continue to go for high hashrate the difficulty will adjust based on that.

Also it’s still will be miners with more hash power or computational power that can mine blocks having less miners doesn’t mean that everyone can still mine block but, it will still be first to solve the puzzle and that is base on power and still within the average 10 minutes for every 2016 blocks.

This is impossible to happen because the schedule of block reward to diminish is already hardcoded in the program of Bitcoin block reward distribution.  So I think, it is silly to ask this kind of question, IMHO.  But for discussion sake, I will give my opinion.  The reaction of miners depends on the  transaction fee that goes with the mined block.  If there is enough transaction fee to make miners motivated, the mining activity will continue, and if there is not enough transaction fee to reward the miners to sustain their operation, then miners will stop mining the Bitcoin network. It is as simple as that.

If that happened tomorrow and out of nowhere, then fees would increase in order for miners to continue to get profit of their operations, initially I would expect many minera to stop their machines because of an initial lack of profits and the hash rate would drop in the first months or so.

Eventually, with the increase of price of Bitcoin (because it's deflationary nature), hash rate would recover and the network would continue to be strong and secure, but fees would main expensive for the average person who actually seeks to use Bitcoin as a decentralized network for their payments.

That would be a total shambles in the space of Bitcoin, but I know people will eventually be buying bitcoin, but nothing is guaranteed in the space of Bitcoin and anything can possibly happen in no time, but I will actually doubt if that will ever happen for bitcoin to totally collapse or disappear, but I’m sure there are guys who will definitely be mining to continue having more bitcoin, but guys who invest in bitcoin will have to look for every possible way to adapt to this situation if it eventually happens, I feel it’s totally impossible.
