I suppose this is why so many of us have ended up here, in spaces like this forum. We are people who quit waiting. We saw that the old paths are overcrowded and the gates are closing. So we began walking through the forest instead. It is harder. There is no map. But at least we are moving.
The challenge is that after some of us have joined in criticizing systems that are not favorable to us and in the long run we happen to own a system that we influence, we still make it hard for people that are coming behind by also failing to provide the things we lacked and in the process, the chain continues again and again and again.
having the mentality that you are on your own is a good way to free yourself from unnecessary entitlement but at the same time, we need to also hold certain people that are responsible for solving the problems of the society accountable so they stand up to what they should do and not feel that because everyone will eventually sort himself out that there is no need helping others make life a bit easier for them. life is not designed to be as hard as we are taking it but unfortunately, we have all become really selfish and are actually paying little attention to things that does not benefit us directly.
People become what they previously hated. This happens all the time. In theory, I agree that, we do need to hold certain people accountable. But who exactly? And how? I have watched people go their whole lives waiting to be held accountable for something that never was. They waited for governments to give a damn. They waited for companies to be fair. They waited for society to see them. And while they were waiting, years passed. Nothing changed.
I am not saying that accountability is not important. I am saying that the cost of waiting for it is expensive. It costs time. It costs energy. It costs hope. And the people we are waiting for? They are not waiting for anything. They are building and taking and moving.
You said it shouldn't be this difficult to live. Maybe. But I stopped asking what life was "designed" to be. I began to ask what I can do with the life I actually have. Not because I gave up on other people. But because I stopped giving other people power over my future.
Perfect! That is what life is about. Not because we agree or because we would like it worked this way. It's simply about thinking rationally, critically and seeing reality how it is, without masks, disguises or fake speeches by political entities.
You know the game, you know its guidelines, but you also have free will, what means you aren't forced to follow what this world or society tries to impose on you. There are gaps on this game, and Bitcoin has been one of them. And by gaps, I don't mean something shady, criminal or unethical. Actually, the system works and acts in shady, criminal and unethical ways as part of the game.
We do the opposite. We try to survive and thrive by alternative means, while not becoming slaves of the system. One hint for people who are trying to see ahead in jobs market and finances is to avoid the crowds. Job fields everyone is, and jobs matters everyone is talking about aren't promising anymore, as it's a potential evidence the method is getting dried quite fast.
You say avoid the crowds. I understand this. But here is my question. You know, how do you know when you are avoiding the crowd and when you are alone and wrong? Sometimes the crowd is stupid. Sometimes the crowd knows something you do not. The trick is knowing the difference. And that is a very difficult skill to develop, especially when you are already outside the system at the moment and there is no feedback other than your own brain.
Also, you say we have free will. I believe this too. But free will needs options. A person who works for 12 hours a day just to pay rent, a person who does not save, does not have a network or information, does not the person have a free will? Or have the illusion of choice inside a very small box? I think the system is smart. It does not take directly away your freedom. It simply just renders the alternatives invisible or impossible.
I am not disagreeing with you. I am just saying the game is even more challenging than it looks. And maybe that is why places such as this are important. We share what we see. We make seeable for each other what is invisible.
Well, it's something we all learn as we start to get mature and observe things around us. Almost all of us must have had different perceptions about things than they actually turned out, and there is nothing wrong with that because you will only truly understand and know something if you live through it, and that's how we learn most of the things in this world. The knowledge that is transferred to us through words is only half the reality we should know, and the other half is acquired through experience.
It's true that we are on our own in this world, and there is no way we are going to get help at any point in life whether it's our academic life, professional life, or personal life; you will need to manage everything yourself, you will have to learn, adapt, and change according to situations because you can't change everything else, so the only option is to change yourself accordingly. You can't ask others to compromise on things, so you will have to compromise instead, and when it comes to help, no one will be there for you forever, so it's better that we learn to live by ourselves instead of being reliant on others.
I respect what you are saying because I can feel that it is coming from real experience. But I think that you took the lesson too far. Yes, we learn through living. Yes, nobody will save us. Yes, we have to adapt. All true. But you said "no one will be there for you forever" and "you will have to compromise instead". That sounds more like someone who got hurt and decided to never need anyone again.
I have been there. I know that feeling. But I also learned something else. Being self-reliant does not mean being alone. It means that you stop waiting on permission. It means that you're selective when choosing your people rather than trusting anyone and everyone. It means you build with other people who also know that the system is not coming to help.
If you think no one will ever help you out, you will repel the people who would. And then, your belief is true, but only because you made it true.
