A breaking point is the point you'll get to and you call it a quite in what ever you are doing.  The point were you are stretched to your limit and the option you should opt for is just giving up.
SO AT WHAT POINT SHOULD YOU CALL IT A QUIT IN GAMBLING? What is the level you will get to and you another its your breaking point in gambling?

Here's the reasons why I asked the above question;
I have a colleague that is has been into dept for the past 6 months because of debts accrued due to gambling.  At the end of the month he pays debts from his little salary so he ends up owing colleagues to just manage by till the month ends . And he complains bitterly of how he has been paying this depth for over these months and how it has even mentally affected him which inturn is affecting his performance at work as well.
At this point my only advice to him is to stop anything gambling when he is finally out of this depth because he is at his breaking point already. So what is your take on this issues?

My former colleague also liked to lend money, until everyone at work started whispering about him. It turned out he owed money to three people, and payday was still a long way off. And everyone immediately remembered that he'd once said he'd bet on a football match. And the whole team immediately put two and two together. Everyone loves to pin labels, and this guy's reputation was practically ruined. As for the main point of this thread, I believe every gambler should have a single goal: to win money for an apartment. Nothing more.

By right, they are supposed to stop gambling without wasting time or being asked to. Your colleague needs help. This question should not be asked because his first path to recovery is to stop gambling.  He is in debt and is suffering from mental health issues. He needs to seek medical help for his mental problems and pay up his debt.  Stopping gambling will help him focus on paying his debt, and it will improve his mental health. Abstaining from gambling will allow him to save more and eradicate the stress of betting.

My advice to him is to adopt any means that will work for him to avoid gambling. He could go on self-seclusion, leave your current environment, or adopt other helpful patterns. He could come back to gambling after he had paid his debt and overcome addiction.

Before we can say of anything, there must be some kind of feelings about it that makes us wanted to react or not, which is where we ought to have pay more attention to, because when we started to have those kind of feelings, it shows that something in not right or should have been in place,  but some only take it for granted and neglect taking steps until they find their self in the kind of situation they are.

Well, from the little I could understand from what you said, I did agree that gambling needs total concentration, not in the game itself but on ourselves as it is very easy to via off the lane of gambling responsibly to the lane of irresponsible gambling, gambling being an activity that is super addictive, and luring as well, needs our conscious mind watching over our changes in behaviour when ever we are gambling.

This helps us to know when it's time for a break, super long gambling or over gambling is how most gamblers end up getting themselves in trouble, like loses they can't afford to stomach, they decide to try more to see if they can win back the lost money only to end up becoming addicted.

Personally, I think that gambling beyond one's ability to lose is not only a sign of gambling addiction, but also if someone does not keep his punctuality or does not complete all his work duties completely, and also spends time on gambling in his free time, I would say that it is another sign of gambling addiction. At the same time, a gambler can be addicted to gambling without losing beyond his ability to lose.
In this regard, my only suggestion is that he should also take a break from gambling.

For him, Stop gambling, don't force yourself if you don't have money for gambling, I am confused as to why he was so impulsive in gambling before, whereas before he had a calmer life even though he didn't have much money and only a small salary he had but his life was much better after getting into gambling.

The problem here is the person not the gambling, so stopping gambling is the right choice, he must realize that he cannot control himself in gambling because of that he has a lot of debts that he must pay.

The note that can be taken is, he has no boundaries, no discipline, no understanding, no money, no self-control and does not know how to manage money is much more important for life, not just for gambling.

He should lament this problem within himself in order to fix it.

I still think the word "break point" is applicable to elasticity. You could have just used "Limit" as your subject instead, but either way it's in correlation with limit, just like "Yield point."

There's no particular fixed limit for every gambler unless the casino or betting site sets a deposit limit themselves. You as a gambler have to come up with what you would like to set as a limit for your gambling activity. Hence, you can't just come up with something random, you have to understand your income and your bills that come in after every income. It goes beyond that, but that should be a starting point.

It baffles me what people see gambling as. It's not a job neither is it a do or die affair. When you are in debt as a result of your gambling activities, you have to quit gambling because it's a sign of addiction. If you don't quit, you will frustrate yourself more and pile up bills for yourself. It means that you're a slave to gambling.

If someone is really going to such an extent of taking debts from their colleagues just to gamble then they should reconsider their gambling habits.
Its clear that they are putting in more than their capacity to gamble and when that happens, it often ends up in drastic losses.
Losses are affordable if they are happening from our own pockets but when others are involved is when the scenario goes bad.
I personally believe this where a breaking point should be and people should consider quitting gambling instead of taking loan from someone just to gamble.

Yes, but every player, even those who've been playing for a very long time, can break down at any moment, even despite a strong desire not to. Personally, I've always had this main rule in gambling: I'll never borrow money, because my inner upbringing prevented me from doing so. I understood that gambling isn't a reliable source of income where you can win constantly; it's just one-time wins, but losses are more frequent, because that's how the casino makes money. MY breaking point is when my gambling budget has been exhausted. At that point, I would have to log out or walk away. Before I mastered the art of budgeting, I would always seek funds to refill my account even when I had finished my budgeted funds. Now, I would never refill my wallet from other sources again. The end of the month for gambling is when the allocated fund is depleted. When next month's income comes, my accounts will receive funds and I will continue.

The point is that gambling is not a way of making money unless someone is lucky and the reason why he or she is in debt is all because of this gambling and the struggle to pay it back. I don’t think anyone needs to advise or tell such a person to stop gambling. They should know that the solution is to stop gambling, because there is a high probability that if they continue, they will keep losing, continue facing debt, or even add more debt to themselves, or stop paying back what they already owe. So it is clear that the best solution is to stop gambling.

Getting into debt is the worst thing that can happen to anyone because it can lead to a whole of things including suicide in some cases..it is really sad that he reached this point, this is the final stage of gambling addiction, when you start doing it then the case becomes something else...This should be the breaking point of any addicted gambler..it is not even advisable to get to this point before gambling

For me it's a simple rule. Deposit on a Casino gamble if win the exit if nose than change the game and try another one until I lost my deposit. I usually don't reinvest or deposit again on that Casino same day twice. This helps me to give maintain my monthly budget as well as keep check in the winning and losing ratio.

I think whenever you are bound to deposit again just because of you lost your deposit that's when you are addicted to the gambling .

Gambling usually tempts us with its possibilities of getting lots of money and in the actual sense, it gets us into trouble. Gambling does not give solutions instead various financial problems are aggravated. Stopping to gamble is the first step on a long way to ruin a debt and begin to change a situation of financial state to be more organised and long-lasting.

if you start out by gambling responsibly you wouldn't be in such a mess but we all make mistakes so getting addicted to something is human nature but if you don't discipline yourself it only cause problems for you. instead of allowing yourself to reach a breaking point you just need to realize what you are getting addicted would cause more harm than good. From your explanation, that should be another factor why your friend should stop gambling not quit, untill he pays up the debt ahead of him before gambling again.

But for others, when a gambler loses a lot maybe for a consecutive periods of 6 months and above without winning at all, such player gets tired and find the nearest quit option, maybe may start again after a long time of quitting as the case may be.

It is not easy for an addicted gambler to totally stop gambling and if he is ready to stop because it makes him to loss more funds, he can reduce his active in gambling. And other jobs to pass time.
