From your explanation, that should be another factor why your friend should stop gambling not quit, untill he pays up the debt ahead of him before gambling again.

But for others, when a gambler loses a lot maybe for a consecutive periods of 6 months and above without winning at all, such player gets tired and find the nearest quit option, maybe may start again after a long time of quitting as the case may be.

This is the ugly part of Gambling. Once addicted it become almost impossible fir yoh to stop outrightly even when it ruins you. People have different Breaking point because of how different we manage our emotions and how .much we tend to lose. The goal is fir you to know when to stop.
You can't be in so much debt and then expected to pay it off with the same gambling that put you in the debt. I guess your colleague isbt so lucky when it comes to gambling. Let him quit and take hold of his life

Whether you’re a gambler or not, risking your money into anything that the outcome is not assured and based off luck when you’re in debt is really not encouraging. It will only worsen the situation more. Engaging in gambling when you’re in debt even makes you to break your rules, you’ll want to risk high to see faster results so that you can get to pay your debt off, this can cause you to incur more loss or elongate your debt period more as a result of not being able to pay some parts of it and risked the money into gambling again. Your friend is indeed at his breaking point, let him pay off his debts before he begins any risky taken step now.

I have a colleague that is has been into dept for the past 6 months because of debts accrued due to gambling.  At the end of the month he pays debts from his little salary so he ends up owing colleagues to just manage by till the month ends . And he complains bitterly of how he has been paying this depth for over these months and how it has even mentally affected him which inturn is affecting his performance at work as well.

 only advice to him is to stop anything gambling when he is finally out of this depth because he is at his breaking point already. So what is your take on this issues?

Of course he should stop gambling, he should not gamble because as you mentioned, if he continues to gamble, he will suffer even more because if he gambles with excessive thoughts and debt, he will never be able to develop a good strategy in gambling. When he cannot develop a good strategy, he will bet and lose again and again. In fact, our main problem is that we create opportunities to make money around gambling. Whenever we create temptations to make money from gambling, the risk increases in us and we gradually become addicted to gambling. However, if this person does not stop gambling, this person will face more dangers and may choose the path of suicide. Therefore, classmates must advise him to quit gambling. If classmates can help him with various suggestions, I think this person will be able to easily get out of gambling and will be able to gradually pay off the depth of debt.

Gambling too much might become a trap and we should be aware of that. The brain has a limit to the information it can gathered or store at a time so that it doesn't become too saturated. Of course, your friend should stop gambling altogether, believing that he has gotten so deep into debt that he is having to pay off his monthly salary. At the end of the month, his family is struggling to make ends meet, so how can he continue gambling in this situation?
Your friend should only gamble after he has paid off all his debts and is well off. If he gambles without paying off his debts, his debt will continue to grow, and he will be so mentally disturbed that he will never be able to consider himself healthy. Therefore, your friend should completely abstain from gambling and first pay off the debt. Then, if he wants to, there is no problem with that, but it would not be right for him to participate in gambling without paying off the debt.

I agree with you that your friend is at his breaking point because he's addicted if not, why will he be borrowing money to gamble and pile up debts for himself. I don't need to reach my breaking point before I call it a day. I gamble responsible with self control and discipline to avoid addiction. Though, I was once an addict.

What I have noticed with some forks lately is that, when they have a problem, instead of facing it on the head on, like making effort to address that problem they blame it on gambling, some of those gambler's that borrow to gamble with have hard history of borrowing before, and this is why some of them, will keep borrowing even when start gambling, so the bottom line is that s debtor will always be a debtor and that is why you seeing borrowing to gamble with most often time.
Sometimes, I wonder who keep borrowing them money to gamble with any ways.

If he keeps borrowing money just to gamble, then it’s better for him to stop altogether. But if he can genuinely change his mindset and become a responsible gambler, then continuing might be fine. Falling into debt because of gambling is like a common “disease” in life difficult to overcome, so managing to change himself is something to be proud of. He should also ask a trusted friend to help monitor his gambling habits so he doesn’t fall into the same mistake twice.

Your friend is an addict, all his actions are unreasonable right from taking loans to gamble and still borrowing to sustain.

If he doesn't see this stage as a breaking point, it will eventually get to a point he has to sell all properties to meet up repayments.

He shouldn't get back to gambling as soon as making the repayment, he needs to wait for more than six months, bad gambling habits don't just heal, they need time to fade.

The best is to leave gambling and focus on work and how to earn and get those debts cleared as soon as possible since it's already affected him mentally. Though, the problem is always the same, someone who is addicted to gambling who realize those things, as long as they continue to gamble and as long as they still have money on their hands to lose to casinos.
That is why I think it is important not to keep gambling as a secret but rather share one's losses with someone considered as trustworhty, so that person can let us know where we are getting to that point of no return in which we are pushing our family away or about to ask for loans to gamble even further.

Why would he continue to gamble if his case is already that grave, i'd be better to find more sources of income, paying jobs in simple terms to pay those debt. And obviously stop gambling because it has lots of toll of him already. Pushing more in gambling won't do good, his situation is the proof of excessive gambling will always backfire.

In an emergency situation, gambling cannot be expected to help financially. The best choice is to stop or give up. Improve the situation slowly, even though it is not easy, it will definitely be finished in the end. Sometimes we need bitter experiences to make us aware and act better in the future.

once you start feeling the huge pressure on your either your finances, mental state or even relationships then clearly that breaking point in gambling is reached! for instance if a gambler is facing lots of debts or even get to a stage where he or she just can't stop borrowing from friends or even relatives and again they are not being productive to themself or at work place then that is way above limit and the smart and advisable thing to do is to quit gambling because in a way gambling is suppose to be a bit of fun activity not like a trap that will just drain a person financially or emotionally or even put you in people's debt

Sadly the hell that would be needed to support oneself against addiction in gambling are nonexistent or inadequate to help everyone in need.

We know that every gambler essentially chooses to prioritize their family and reject any kind of disruption that makes their family unhappy. However, along the way, a gambler often struggles to control themselves, which ultimately leads them to act beyond their limits. Make gambling just for entertainment, try not to sacrifice your family just for temporary pleasure.

In reality, why people don't quit while gambling is that they are too that hopeful they would win something very large and that has been their dream, I am talking with experience about this because this has also affected me serious because i was projecting a certain amount of winning which could entirely change my life and my ways of doing things, but at some points I began to understand that gambling is above how I senses it or how I think the results should be coming out. But the more I put more efforts the more it seems to be failing where I will keep losing my bet at the expense of waiting earn higher in a single folds without at least experiencing how fun or pleasurable gambling could be, after all I decided to change my perspective towards I presumed about gambling.

The worst part about addiction is that, even if you wanna care or prioritize your family over that temporary pleasure, it’s still not possible because at that point you can no longer control yourself or uour emotions, even if you’ve repeatedly told yourself that you’re not going back to gambling anymore, maybe because you’ve seen how much damage it’s doing to your relationship with your family, even if you’ve seen manage to stay away for a while, you just won’t understand the force that’ll still pull back into gambling and making a mess of yourself.

The brain execute whatever is activating the mind, some players find hard times tough to breath through. Their chances stalls around looking for help where they can't see it, instead of running to a therapists, they'll rather move straight to loan issuers for safety. Thereby endangering their own livelihood and peace of mind.
