Yes, the fight is finally made official and i think this is one of the fights that most of us here are waiting to happen while they are still in the peak of their careers. Shakur Stevenson will go up to the super lightweight to challenge the hard-hitting Teo Lopez. These two fighters are known to be counter-punchers with Shakur Stevenson labeled as a boring one but against Teo Lopez i think this will be an exciting fight to watch.

Height, age, and reach are all the same for me. This match is exciting. Only the 1 loss record of Lopez seems to me to be something off here, because for sure Shakur will defend his record for having 0 losses.

It’s an intriguing fight because both fighters are still in their prime. Their names aren’t as big as Crawford or Tank Davis, but this fight is one that could define their legacy and take their career to the next level.

I have to favor Shakur because he is a very good defensive boxer and has a style that can frustrate Teofimo. Teo hasn’t been able to knock anybody out in a long time, so it will likely come down to a judges’ decision. Stevenson just has a higher ring IQ and will be able to outpoint Lopez. Sometimes Teo surprises us and will get a big upset, like he did against Loma and Josh Taylor, but he hasn’t been consistent enough for me to have faith in him.

Stevenson seems to like to play it safe with his fights; relying too much on his defense (which is solid), but if he sticks to that defensive style too much, this fight might get boring, to a point where the crowd would lose enthusiasm, along with the judges. Lopez, as we all know, is a hard-hitter and is usually aggressive in his fights. If this fight continues until the end of round 12, Lopez might take home the win with his possible solid points, gained from his aggressiveness.

It's either because they know Stevenson may win based on whatever analysis they've made or they just want to balance out the bets. Maybe the bookie noticed that most bets are for Lopez. Since part of their business model is to make profit, they'll do whatever it take to balance their books, and that includes favoring someone who isn't a crowd favorite like Stevenson.

I think their names is a big as Davis, specially that Tank avoided Roach for a rematch and then supposedly fight Jake Paul for exhibition. There's no comparison with Crawford as he is in the bigger or heavier weight class.

Although I want Teofimo Lopez to win because I like fighters who go toe-to-toe, it’s really hard to imagine him beating someone quicker and smarter like Shakur Stevenson.

This fight is long overdue, but I’m honestly seeing it as a possible one-sided match. Shakur’s style is close to Mayweather’s, very calculated, so for him to lose he’d either need to make a big mistake or face someone even faster than him who’s also a KO artist.

If these two were fighting in the era of Manny Pacquiao, they’d probably just be added to Pacman’s win record.

Boxing isn’t focused on real competition anymore, it’s all about the money. So it’s normal they’ll hype this fight so both the fighters and the promoters earn big. There’s already a lot of hype since Teofimo Lopez is fun to watch. At least it’s a 50-50 chance that the fight won’t be boring. But if it was Devin Haney vs Shakur Stevenson, then there’s zero chance the fight would be entertaining.

I consider Shakur the best fighter to win this match; he has never been dominated or knocked down by any fighter he has faced, whereas Teofimo Lopez struggled with some of the fighters he faced. The hardest one was against Kambosos, whom he lost by a decision.
Shakur is a more technical fighter between the two. I expect him to win by a decision and school Lopez. Lopez is just all talk, while Shakur has already proven a lot.

That’s actually the exciting part. His father has always been a big trash talker ever since Teo first became popular.

When Teo beat Loma, his father was already talking trash back then, and it seemed to work because Teo ended up winning. That fight was really where Teo’s career started to take off. It’s a smart tactic if you think about it. Trash talk also markets the fight, the more people get interested and start watching, the more money flows in.

I do agree, it's like a instant karma for them to trash talk pre-fight and then lose badly in the game. And the most recent in my memory is Adrien Broner against Marcos Maidana wherein it was a classic trash talk that back fired. But I don't know here, both of this fighters are trash talking so maybe we can only know who can back that talk up in the ring itself. But in the promotion, we love those trash talking specially if both are Americans. I'm seeing here that Teo might open his mouth more and then Stevenson trying to give it back to Teo and then play the mind games.
