What's funny is that Teo's father is doing a lot of trash-talking too, acting like his son can't do the talking himself. By the looks of it, Shakur is very confident he can beat Lopez come this Jan. 31st, he's predicting that Teo's gonna cry after the fight.

I hate it when his father does this; he did it to Kambosos Jr. We don't need stage fathers in boxing. Trash-talking should be between boxers, not fathers or trainers. Boxers are the ones who will do the boxing in the ring.
Anyway, Shakur is a more highly technical boxer between the two. He is the next guy after Floyd, and he will make Teofimo a stepping stone to more lucrative fights and more titles.
I don't rule out Teofimo's chances, but if he is going to have a good chance against Shakur, he needs to be the aggressive one, because Shakur will use his technical skill and advantages if he is passive.

I am very much embarrassed. When I see the name Teo Lopez, my mind is automatic in considering him a 33-35 year old boxer and when I see the name Shakur, my mind is still thinking that he is only 22-23 years old similar to King Ry and the crying Haney's rising popularity only 5-6 years ago.

In any case, this makes the argument stronger that Teo Lopez can win against Shakur! I wish I can change my vote!

No, his father is like that in every fight of him, if you would watch their press conference on that Loma fight before, it could have been worst. I don't know if you are familiar with Danny Garcia's father, because that's another one who really talk a lot for his son during Danny's prime years.

So we really have to give credit to those father though, because they really made their son good and obviously make a name for themselves and then the money will come in next for the family.

This is a big disrespect imo. The bookies clearly don’t respect Lopez’s quickness.
With these odds, they’re basically assuming Lopez gets tired chasing a slick Shakur and the fight ends with Shakur winning by unanimous decision.

If that’s the scenario, then we’re probably in for a boring fight, and I’m not a fan of that.

That’s why I’m leaning the other way. I’m taking Lopez to win at those odds, it’s just too good to ignore.

Just look at the poll, Shakur has a huge lead against Teo, and we have a saying that style makes the fight. Teo will be the aggressor, and Shakur will do a Mayweather hit-and-run, and Shakur will score most of the rounds, and unfortunately, your guess is as good as mine, the fight will be boring, unless Teo changes his attack and show aggressiveness that will throw Shakur's plan.

I doubt Teo Lopez stands a chance if Shakur Stevenson can do well to avoid his one punch equalizer. Teo also has a record finding difficulty in the ring with fighters who move around a lot and that is one strength that Shakur has to outwit him.

Still, according to current betting odds & market pulse, the favorite to win  is Shakur Stevenson and he is highly favored to go the whole 12 rounds or win by unanimous decision, because he has shown much superiority in ring IQ over the years and may easily just walk away with the WBO belt.

Teo is taking this seriously because he knows he’s a heavy underdog with the bookies, so he really needs to find a way to deal with a very slick opponent.

What Mike Tyson can offer him is a lot in terms of mindset, power, and explosiveness, but for Teo, the key is speed. If he wants to catch Stevenson, he has to improve there, because without speed, it’s going to be tough. Stevenson is a smart boxer, so it’s not just about strength. Teo will need to outthink him as much as outfight him if he wants to win.

That is a bold statement coming from somebody whose most notable win on his resume is Oscar Valdez, who is a human punching bag. Valdez was an entertaining fighter, but he was just average in terms of skill level. There is no denying that Shakur is great defensively, but he is delusional if he really believes he is in the same class as all time greats.

I hope Teo would win this one, but I'm doubting it considering that this fight is most likely decided by the score cards. It's probably going to be a generally boring fight, especially if Lopez's risks of coming in and throwing combinations would only be taken by Shakur as an opportunity to make points by throwing 1 or 2 counters before backing up to his comfortable range. If Teo's aggressive moves would bear no fruit but won't make him so frustrated either that he'd just mindlessly attack, their promotions might be more fun than the fight itself.

It's very hard to see whether it's just a hype or Teo is very serious on this fight that's why he invited Mike Tyson to inspire him more as he is the underdog in this fight or at least fans doesn't think that he can't win because of Shakur's style.

With that said, Teo Lopez should take this fight on a high note. It could his biggest fight since the Loma upset that he did years ago. And in the actual fight itself, he should not be frustrated if he can't hit Shakur cleanly because of his defense.

I can agree with you, you’re right. If I use my head, I’d probably pick Stevenson, but if I go with my heart, I’m choosing Lopez. Honestly, I’m not a fan of boring boxers who are also cocky at the same time, and Stevenson kind of falls into that category for me. The fight’s coming up in a few days toward the end of the month, and hopefully Lopez doesn’t disappoint us.

Pacquiao is already 47 years old, this is the age where boxers are past their primes and just relegated to being trainers, managers, or promoters if they are still involved in boxing, but never as a boxer. Pacquiao is just an exception, and many boxers have taken him for granted, so they target Pacquiao to add prestige to their name.

Easy money, I’d say. Fighters are more willing to face him now since he’s not as dangerous as he was in his prime, but the payday is already guaranteed anyway. That said, they still won’t get a bigger share than Manny Pacquiao, since he’s clearly the main attraction in any fight he’s in. I honestly miss seeing Manny fight after the Mario Barrios bout. I think he still has something left to offer, and he deserves another chance, especially after that fight where some people felt he got robbed.
