If you hang out with people who only talk about other people, talk about gossip, talk about grievances and talk about things that are not important for your personal development, you will stay in that position, don't expect life to get better.

If you hang out with people who have ambitions, talk about business potential or profit potential, talk about the future for the better, self improvement, talk about knowledge, talk about technology and investment, slowly your ambitions will be awakened, your knowledge will increase and you will realize that you have to organize your life to be better, because every time you will hear people talking about how to live more advanced.

It could be you today who is stuck in the economy because you hang out with weak, stupid, and failed people, who only talk about things that have no value.

In short, whatever surrounds us and is always with us, we can adopt their customs or culture. It's just like a song you don’t want to hear, but because you hear it every day and your neighbor keeps playing it, you don’t even realize that you’ve already memorized the lyrics.

That's actually true, your topic reminds me of the statement that says " if you want to fly with the eagles, you will have to stop swimming with the docks"  this message portray that to fly higher you need to step up. By stopping the current thing you do that keeps you stagnated and begin to think of how to fly with the big birds. A lot of sacrifices is needed to stand out in the public. I was once surrounded by friends who where limited to what they know and never wanted to improve, instead of improving they argue Alot, they even ague what they don't know even when someone that knows it is taking to them. They always believe they know everything and at a point i decided to stay away from them and make new friends who don't ague but learn from anything. And now I am far far away from them because I never learned anything good from them. Now they see me as a bad friend because I don't follow their company but I rather be a bad friend to them and become useful in life than be a good friend to them and be useless in life. We are the products of what we feed ourselves. A positive mind will begot a positive vibe and a negative mind will begot a negative influence or vibe in the society.

Yeah that's true, OP I believe that as an individual, we should make sure that the people who surround us are those who we are willing to learn from ,or who are willing to learn from us. Because the moment you stick with people that   can't impact you, gradually, gradually, you will start falling financially, physically, mentally, and psychologically. This is a typical thing we think but life is dynamic. It's not the way we see things from movies, from other people that is going to happen to everyone. Like, I know one man that literally hate everyone and complain about people, including his family but the man is working as manager to a power holding company and his making money only his son is having access to. Is the son a stubborn and don't listen type? No, he is one of the cool kid I have seen into money.

Life can happen to anyone, you may not having too much friends in your cycle and you can be successful as fuck. People welcome people with the same mind.  I do not think people with good morals will stay to mingle with people with bad morals but I agree environment shape people unless people seclude themselves and keep away from outside influence.  But once a character is established, I do not think outside influence will have that strong influence anymore.
