Violence from gamblers? A casino won’t shut down unless they are directly involved or even caused the fight. Otherwise, I see no reason why they would shut down. I have seen many cockfighting games get shutdown either it got too intense or just because it’s not really completely legal lol.

I don't think anyone could easily get out or withdraw their funds from the casino during an investigation or once the casino is bankrupt/hacked.
I'm sure physical casinos won't leak any information that they are having an issue because it can affect their business, but for illegal casinos, I believe you won't be able to do anything with your funds, and since they are bankrupt, they can't pay you immediately, or your funds are totally lost forever since it's an illegal casino.
That's why the illegal casinos are the bad places to go. You don't know when they're going to release your funds if something goes wrong.

But if it's with the legal ones, you still have the better odds of withdrawing your funds because they have a reputation to protect. And true when there are things happening in the physical casinos.

They'd mostly avoid publicizing what's happening on them to avoid fear from their customers, repeat and new.

Avoiding the issue of operating without a valid licence puts our risks at a higher level particularly in receiving our winnings. Legally obliged institutions have more incentive to fulfil their financial obligations and this facilitates continuity in business and prevents sanctions by the regulators. We rely on a low amount of transparency by legal organisations and unlawful organisations can do what they want with minimal or no fear of a legal penalty on our side.

There are situations like fight in a casino and this may be a brutal one leading to a shutdown even before the government intervention, also, in some cases, the shutdown may com from government, but not because of their non compliance to their regulations like that of license, but government taking decisions to lock down a physical casino because of violence taken place in the casino, there could be cases of rape, theft, fight and so many others, just as we know can happen in a physical casino and the operators or government decided to shutdown activities there.

There's also a good chance the business will be locked temporarily, and then resume business once all duties are over. Or just move to another place.

I suppose you can pick a reputable place with a good security, so if something violent occurs they have that. You're also likely to get paid or reimbursed by a reputed casino. Ultimately, I think you can just hope for the best lol. Because we can't control other people, and sometimes you get real unlucky in life. I do think majority of people playing in physical casinos would be just fine—meaning it's more than likely than not that they won't encounter such thing.

I don't think I have experienced it before, but I don't think violence can make a physical casino to shutdown although it depends because already violence can make many things to shutdown. That's why online casino are more preferable than physical casino because there's nothing can make online casino to shutdown anyhow, unless they engage with illegal activities, if not there's nothing concerned them with violence.

Here's what I meant.

If you ever experience a casino shutdown as a result of violence or illegal activities from a physical casino?

Share your experience from any and what happened that led to the shutdown, this will help us to learn and know how we could possibly prevent ourselves from any similar occurrences and remain unaffected in situations whereby it happened.
Are you planning to set up a physical casino and want to know the DOs and Don'ts so you don't do something that could lead to your casino getting shut down?
Well, no fears in this regard bud, 😁, so long as you do not withhold users winning, refusing to pay and finding a false offence to lay on the user so you could use that a reason why you choose not to pay the user his winnings, then everything will definitely be alright with your casino 😊

On a more serious note now, one I've seen is court ordered that a physical casino not far from my area be shut down indefinitely for refusing to pay a winner and on top of that, laid some false crime on the winner which the court later found out was all a lie, the court ordered the casino to pay the winner his winnings, and pay for damages too (I've forgetten the amount the judge mentioned).

The casino was later reopened but it took about 7 months, but this is after the management of the casino was able to pay all the fine they were told to pay by the judge.

If they get shut down for violating the law, then they’ll just be closed and the government will take over their assets to pay the creditors. It’s similar to what happens with exchanges that get shut down, the assets are still there, so the government steps in, audits everything, and it takes years before users get paid.

But in this case it’s a physical casino, so it won’t work the same way.
Gamblers won’t really be affected like that.

If it's not for license/regulations or bankruptcy reasons, what should be the reason in your opinion OP? Usually physical casinos shut down their activities because of confirmed accusations of fraud or money laundering involvement which are all under regulations category. I can't understand what do you mean by saying shut down because of violence. If players fight against each other the casino can't operate, unless you refer to illegal locations. Better to avoid going to those locations because you will be exposed to many risks including losing your whole life.

Apart from money laundering and drug abuse, some physical casinos engage in human trafficking. At the same time, some serve as a den for incubating criminals and their arms. Let us be realistic, a lot can literally go on in a physical casino, and most of them pay the governments to cover up their crimes. Once they are exposed, they completely shut down.

I don’t experienced this personally but Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in the Philippines was shutdown due to being use as hub for serious crime such as human trafficking, kidnapping, money laundering and many more which foreigners operates discreetly.

This casino was very popular destination by foreign gambler before and generates huge profit but too much freedom in addition to lousy punishment of the Philippines against serious crime instead of death penalty makes international syndicate choose this business to operate freely.

There are some reasons which is going to lead to casino shutting down and you already mentioned them in your post already. Either the government discovers illegal activities in a physical casino(maybe drugs or other things), then it’s going to be shutdown, and the owner might be punished at the end.  Also some physical casino do end up being bankrupt, and they won’t just have choice than to shutdown. Also if the casino house violative anything, then the government is just going to force them to shutdown the casino house. Seriously there are lots of things that can make a physical casino shutdown.

And this isn’t even a big issue because we can always find another casino that will entertain us. When one casino closes, a new one opens. These people will never stop. They might not use their old names anymore to avoid getting tagged, but they can always find other people to operate for them because they know how profitable the gambling business is. They’re not just going to let that go. That’s their creative mindset.   Smiley

If they lose their license for liquor it could cause them to shut down as that can be an essential part of sales and profits taken.  Obviously if they have no license for gambling to continue then its game over, you cant fight that or carry on as it would be a big fine in most cases and not worth the risk.
I've seen places lose their alcohol license quite easily from fights breaking out too often etc. so they tend to throw out drunks early because of that fear of losing trade, it looks bad and also there is the possibility of liability or being accused of taking advantage of someone drunk which is a court case detail I've read more then once when a gambler tries to reclaim losses.

No, it has not happened here in our country, but our government will not shut it down because of illegal activities or violence; they will just clean up the mess and continue its operation. Why would they shut it down when it's their cash cow?
Physical casinos are better in government hands because they can closely monitor them and prevent illegal activities that could erode gamblers' trust in physical casinos.
The government will do everything it can to keep the casino industry as clean as possible, as it's part of the country's tourism industry.

Not from an actual physical and legal casino. But if you have known of those street gambling and illegal ones, I've experienced that when I was younger. When there's a riot where it all started from those card games and some were cheating that they keep on betting and not standing from their seats even if they have no more money left. The banker got mad and can't take it anymore as if they're gambling with credits. Since it's an illegal street gambling place, they have to forced it into shutting down and stop all of the operations on that neighbor street where I've grown. As for the physical casinos, they're very secure in my country and no one would like to mess there and cancel their operations if they want to cause troubles.

Well, an illegal casino can immediately run away and can't file bankruptcy to compensate customers. Unlike physical and legal casinos, they can file bankruptcy and pay customers in a legal process, which is a remedy to the damage caused by hacking stolen funds.
That's why it's hard to gamble at an unlicensed casino because you don't have protection in case of what happens to the casino.

That's why it's hard to gamble at an unlicensed casino because you don't have protection in case of what happens to the casino.

It’s possible to get compensated, but it won’t happen right away. Most gamblers just move on and forget about it because the payout takes time. You know how gamblers are, they’re not investors, they want quick results and they’re used to accepting losses fast, even in situations like this so-called bankruptcy thing.

But like OP said, this isn’t even bankruptcy. It’s a government violation case where they were ordered to close.

I don’t experienced this personally but Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in the Philippines was shutdown due to being use as hub for serious crime such as human trafficking, kidnapping, money laundering and many more which foreigners operates discreetly.
Yes. This one takes the cake for me, too. POGO has been raking in billions of pesos annually, and the government earned billions in tax revenues, yet they still banned them outright.  Cheesy
I guess that's what happens when the syndicate was even able to infiltrate the government by placing their own as an elected Mayor. LMAO
Well, good thing they aren't discreet enough that they were caught with whatever illegal activities they were doing in those massive offices.

If anybody is interested in knowing more about this, you can read a short history about it here: https://www.sunstar.com.ph/manila/pogo-a-brief-history-leading-to-ban-in-philippines

Am not referring to shutting down a casino because or license/regulations.
Neither am I referring to a shutdown as a result of bankruptcy or hack.

No, I haven't heard any of this things. IF you have been on a physical casino you should know that there are a lot of security personnel inside and outside. So I doubt that anyone is more willing to attack someone inside as it automatically bans them from entering the casino again.

So I doubt that we wight hear one, or if there is one then for sure the consequences is not on the casino itself as it will be on the person involved. If I remember correctly there could have been a couple, that involves those gangsters (not Mafia), that might have crossed path inside the casino and have the altercation. But again, with so many security and police personnel around, that fight could be prevented and those involved getting arrested on the spot.

What I mean is this @Kavelj22

There are situations like fight in a casino and this may be a brutal one leading to a shutdown even before the government intervention, also, in some cases, the shutdown may com from government, but not because of their non compliance to their regulations like that of license, but government taking decisions to lock down a physical casino because of violence taken place in the casino, there could be cases of rape, theft, fight and so many others, just as we know can happen in a physical casino and the operators or government decided to shutdown activities there.
If a casino shutdown it's activities due to violence it should be on a temporary basis, so far they didn't commit any crimes that warrants government to shut it down permanently. Another understandable reason why a physical casino will permanently shutdown is due to regular attacks by robbers or recurring cases of violence in their location. But I know that the major reason why a casino will shutdown will be due to bankruptcy or the government shutdown due to their misconduct or regulation breach. Casinos cannot just shutdown due to problems, they will try and resolve it it and continue with their business.

Though the OP was talking about issues similar to this to a physical casino, but this was the first thing that comes to my mind. The POGO and all the sh*t they've been doing illegally. Can't imagine how huge of a syndicate it was as the mayor who got linked to this was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Anyway, I too have never heard of a physical shutdown due to violence or illegal activities. I can only think this would happen if a physical casino is tied to party bar, because, set -up like that is prone to violence.
