Manual Review Request: Locked/Hacked Account @Becassine

I just have had one question on my mind, to those who may be aware, or knows the answer to! How long on average does it take to recover an account? Normally.... And does the recovery team intentionally delays this process? I mean like just to make sure! It's been nearly a week since OP posted this and some of you are speculating it may be done before Christmas.

Usually around two weeks or so based on the past cases I have seen. I think the time just varies because of the back and forth communication between the recovery team and the person who wants to recover the account.
How quickly the person seeking to recover the account will respond to the emails and fulfill the requirements also matters. I think the "delay" is there, so the team can fully investigate before putting the account on the path to recovery.

One day I couldn't log in. And then I procrastinated... For some reason I don't know, I had a little problem with Electrum, but thanks to a wonderful personalized hotline, I got the moral and technical support I needed to recover my account.

I now understand how Electrum works. It's actually quite simple, and I don't know why I thought it was complicated. Thankfully, Paid2 encouraged me to sign my first message.

Thanks also to the forum team for blocking my account, protecting it, and giving it back to me. If it took a while, it was only because of my procrastination.

I'm quite happy with Electrum for years. Just works quite fine and supports my favored hardware wallet (and no, that's not the Ledger crap).

Becassine sent me a PM with a signed message and I could verify it properly this evening, so at least I know the user who controls account "Becassine" controls still the private key of public address bc1qvlq0hdy3gkq2nqy92rvppxwjh6tv9nzvtuqffq she staked in the past. It's very likely her, the real owner of that account. Proof enough for me.

Glad, she's back and my preventive negative trust tag has also been removed from her account, of course, as announced.

My only advise to Becassine would be:

• enable 2FA for your account NOW, if you haven't done so already!

I sometimes lack confidence, even though Electrum is actually quite simple. Fortunately, I am lucky to have wonderful moral support on the forum; I think I have a pretty good grasp of Electrum now.

I have set a password on Electrum and 2FA on this account.

At one point I actually thought they were not going to help you given the long wait, but right now hope has been restored for any possible future victims who may have lost access to their accounts

It was entirely my fault that time passed. The team was very responsive, but I wasn't...

Actually I have another advise, not specifically to Becassine though:

• don't use your hot software wallets with keys on your daily computers with which you do all sorts of internet stuff (or shit)
  I would recommend to use a dedicated computer only for crypto wallets, no email, (a)social media shit and whatnotelse on this device; usually a cheap, second-hand laptop with Linux on it is very recommended for this; stay away from Windows OS which is a main target for hackers due to its market dominance.
• if you have more than a few hundred $$$/EUR worth of coins, do yourself a favour and finally get and learn to use a good hardware wallet properly; it's much safer when used correctly than a hot software wallet
