Here in Nigeria many of old people are not interested in Bitcoin investment, from the age of 50 upward finds it very difficult to trust and invest in Bitcoin and if you trying to convince them to invest in Bitcoin they will never accept.
The major reason why it is so is because of ponzi scheme experience they had before, there are a lot of ponzi scheme that has scammed a lot of Nigerian people and this age I mentioned upward were  really affected in this Ponzi schemes scam and that has made them see any investment that involves online transactions as fake, according to some of them they usually say any investment or business they can't see physically is a scam Cheesy.
I really don't blame them because some of them really lost so much to ponzi scheme.

Because dem nor believe sey that kind things dey, since e nor happen for their time and them so much believe sey nar wetin you use your hand do na him you go achieve that is physical investment and because dem feel sey dem don old anything can happen with dem,so any money wey dem get, them dey chop am, make e nor go be sey dem money go loss or enter scammers hand.

As I believe that bitcoin investment is not do by force, but you can educate people how it works, my advice here, I think people in that age ,trust means a lot to them, there eyes are open for many things, many of them have been scammed before, from this ponzi scheme, and it will be very difficult to them to accept or trust online investment again, the more you try your best to convince them the more they will still saying no to your explanation, so it will good for you to respect their decisions, for bitcoin it's not everybody will understand bitcoin and not everyone will accept bitcoin, and that's good, bitcoin self doesn't need everybody to agree with it to work, because some will understand as time goes and some may never that's life.

Most older persons were not victims of Ponzi schemes but they held the stories of others that were scammed and withdrew themselves from partaking on any online activity. The phobia of being scammed can  take a long period of time to heal,so I don’t blame anyone for not investing on bitcoin due to past experiences from Ponzi schemes. These older generations aren’t digitally inclined so before convincing those older people to invest in bitcoin you’ll have to do a whole lot of work in enlightening them digitally before teaching them the security measures of holding their coins safely. In my own perspective, don’t convince an old person to invest in bitcoin because they’re easily exposed to online scams.

It is risky for those who are older to invest particularly if they invest without gaining sufficient knowledge about Bitcoin. Moreover, it is true that there are many who have invested without gaining knowledge and lost their assets. Compared to the risk involved in investing in other coins in cryptocurrency, the risk of investing in Bitcoin for the long term will definitely be greatly reduced. In reality, some people have been scammed, and some people have been frightened by their situation, which is why many have not been able to gain confidence in investing. But with time, people have become much more aware. Everyone is now aware of Bitcoin. As a result, people are now trying their best to increase their investment.

Nigerians are very skeptical about anything most especially old people, some of these old people have fallen asleep victims for some crypto scams in the past so they think every other thing is also a scam. it is hard to convince old people to invest in bitcoin in Nigeria because most of them are pensioneirs, they prefer to use earn from whatever source thay they know and they see bitcoin aa stress or something that is going to be a waste of money. most old people like I said are pensioners so they find it hard to use what they get carelessly

Don't blame them, most of the older people are not used to technology and no matter how you tried to explain it to them they are never interested, they don't understand how it works they are just so accustomed to the traditional way of doing things. Even if you manage to convince them to invest in bitcoin, the issue of them keeping their investments private becomes an issue. How can you convince a 60 years old woman or man not to show anyone his private keys? They will either tell their partner or their children, and at that time you as the person that convinced them won't be at peace because if anything happens the first thing they will think of is that you introduced them to something that stole their money. For your own sanity avoid convincing older people into investing in bitcoin for this our country.

I don't blame the oldies for being skeptical about Bitcoin due to the things happening now and also Bitcoin wasn't created in their time, as it is right now anything that has to do with the internet seems like fraud to them and I learnt that some of them don't even use their bank accounts anymore because of the bad experiences they had. But their are some rich old people that can actually invest in Bitcoin because they have been more exposed to the things of this generation and they understand investment very well and they can see on the internet that Bitcoin is one of the most talked about future investment and if you approach this set of people I'm sure they won't be hard to convince.

That is true, old people are more difficult than the younger people especially when it involved Internet related matters, they always see it as a scam or something that isn't trustworthy. Old dudes are very much sensitive when it comes to do with money, they hardly trust someone not to talk of online doings, more over they are old and outdated so they need more time or explanation in getting things right.

I can't remember when I try convincing my dad if he can join me in my Bitcoin accumulation journey, but the response he gave to me was so funny that I think is a fool to throw away his hard earned money on all those online scam that is not interested and i tried as much as I could to make him see reasons with me but all to null and void. However I didn't blame him because that is always the nature of older folks.

The problem wey i dey get with some Nigerians be say dem dey like make a seemingly general problem feel like a Nigerian problem. All over the world, the older people get, the less likely they are to invest too much in volatile assets. So there you have it, that is the reason why many older people do not fancy bitcoin in Nigeria or anywhere in the world.

That said, ponzi scheme is also not a Nigerian thing, it happens everywhere. There are still older people getting involved in bitcoin, but some of them may not invest as much as a younger person with the same interest. Another thing that determines if an older person would adopt bitcoin is their level of education and exposure.

Even some senior men for forum here wey i know say dem dey above 50 years but dem don dey into bitcoin tey tey and their portfolio don big well well wey be say na retirement dey their mind no be to invest again. If you go dat wall observer thread you go see say many people wey dey there dey talk about how dem want make the price of bitcoin dey increase so that dem fit take some profits from their investment, na only few of dem still dey buy. You dey talk say old people dey see bitcoin as scam but no be only old people and wetin cause dis fear in people na due to dat ponzi scheme wey been crash dat time so na dat thing na make many Nigerians dey fear to invest in bitcoin. Most of them do not understand the concept of Bitcoin and it is understandable to have no interest to invest in what you have no knowledge about.

They are more used to ancient principles and standards over modern standards, but no entirely all old people but the majority of them.

Even the youths also fear for scam projects as well, because of the rise in it's occurrence and Bitcoin could only be different because of it's consistency over the years.

In contribution i will say age has no limitation to Bitcoin investment but if the elderly people will want to used there past experiences to judge the current status of Bitcoin today meaning they're not ready to progress in life and I most say that is a mentality and not age related, even in physical investment people are also getting scammed and moreover they're still investing, and if you check the current price of Bitcoin as of 10years ago and today there is a very big difference in price people who invest as of then has really make profits from their investment and Bitcoin investment is a long term investment of which I don't think the elderly should be afraid due to their past experience of been scammed and you no one thing for sure if you put your money or your investment into a wrong platform that pays one week 2 weeks and you have already make *two of you money definitely the app will gets crash one day and you get scammed so this is not the problem of age is a wrong planning of investment.

First of all you don't need to convince anybody to invest in Bitcoin, Bitcoin is not by force, it is an act of self willingness. Trying to convince someone to invest makes it look like it's a scam that you want to convince someone into it. And morover people from that age range will not find it easy to invest in Bitcoin because of age factor and they may have adopted the traditional system of storing of asset, it is by luck you will see anyone of that age to accept to invest. If you want to introduce Bitcoin investment to people then it should be your friends within your age range and above, and those who are not that old. And when telling anyone about Bitcoin, don't focus on educating them about the good side alone, tell them the risk involve also so they will not blame you later when there is a surden dip in Bitcoin.

First of all trying to convince someone that's 50 to invest is not really advisable, it is not entirely bad but at such age that's when people are supposed to be reaping the benefits of the seeds they sowed when they were in their 20 to 30 years...It hard to convince most Nigerians because they don't want anything that's slow they want something that they can just make quick and easy money from.

You will find very few adults who are willing to adapt to change every decade. I know of some old people who do value social media, they dont make use of the new micro finance bank, only traditional bank. Bitcoin becomes too complex for such people to accept. Not because they can't understand it, but because they feel it was meant for this current generation.

At 50, they are close to retiring, most old folks would rather invest in tangible asset, not in a muchmore volatile asset like Bitcoin.

Of course, many factors could be involved and be a reason why there is a decline in interest to do any online investment. Some could be early scam experience as you mentioned, some could be fear if loosing there hard earned money, some could be ignorance and lack of exposure, some could also be old age(as they would argue that such is for youngee ones), some no money to get started, and so many other factors.

But If you ask me, am if the opinion that people shouldn't be dragged into what they are not ordinarily interested in doing. No need to convince them if they are not interested in the first place. It's better they come asking or seeking for the knowledge than we meeting them to start or join us, preaching the goodnews of long term Hodl, nope.

Why you go even convince anybody to invest in Bitcoin? Bitcoin na something wey people dey decide to do on their own. All you suppose to na to to tell them about Bitcoin and if them find am interesting, them go ask you questions and you go explain am better to them.
If you convince them to invest, and anything happen to their money, na you them go blame.

I no believe say na becasue of Ponzi scheme them no like Bitcoin, na becasue say e too dey complicated for them to understand, and most Nigerians no like complicated things. If another ponzi scheme like MMM still come, a lot of people go still fall for am.

I think you have already said it all in Nigeria most of the old people are quite ignorant because they feel like bitcoin is a scam, and they most have been associated to investing in one Ponzi scheme or the other that have landed them into trouble, and most people have died from investing in some Ponzi scheme but they mostly wouldn’t know that Bitcoin is quite different when you have a good approach of investing into Bitcoin, I have been investing in Bitcoin for quite a long time, and some old people in Nigeria doesn’t even know what Bitcoin is all about and how Bitcoin have been growing, so it’s a thing of people not knowing what is really happening in the world right now. And old people who aren’t educated wouldn’t know about this situations.
