Hello my fellow Nigerian crypto enthusiasts

Recently, a 21-year-old boy was killed in Ukraine for crypto assets. This boy was the son of a deputy mayor of Ukraine. While studying in Vienna, this boy may have accidentally mentioned to his classmates or suspects about the various crypto assets that his father's or his family had, or he shared the details without his knowledge. After knowing this information, the suspects started pressuring him in various ways for his crypto wallet password, even keeping him in a car and torturing him for hours and taking away the passwords of two crypto wallets from him.

As a result, the suspects took away about $200,000 worth of crypto assets or more from this boy. Therefore, we Nigerians should learn from these issues and be very careful because we should not reveal our family assets or the amount of our Bitcoin or crypto assets to untrustworthy people. I think these are the indications and repeated warnings that we must hide the wallet password or the amount of our crypto portfolio from everyone.

It's so said he had to lose his life after reviewing his crypto assets to third parties, of which probably, he could have thought were his friends. And as such, this should teach us a big lesson from this story not to trust anyone, not even your family members in some scenarios, because people are wicked and couldn't wouldn't mind do anything just for the sake of the money.  Because for him to be been a target, then it is obvious he could have either bragged he own such huge amount of crypto in his wallets, which might have made these boys plot his kidnap and eliminated him. Hence, staying anonymous is the best way to staying safe with your Bitcoin investment. Because Satoshi Nakamoto was wise and knew the danger owning such wealth will result in the society.

These is why I stopped telling people about my activities, because you don't know who is against you and there are people who claimed to be your friend but just to get information from you, and immediately you open up to them they would start planning evil against you. It's really a touching story this is why we need to be much carful about our crypto assets, in fact everything we are doing because there are people who don't want your progress and you wouldn't know until they finally have access to your life.

It's really instructive why we shouldn't tell everyone and even friends about our crypto holdings maybe when that 21-year-old boy from Ukraine was discussing his father's estate and crypto, his classmates were jealous that he had immense wealth, in my view this was his most serious crime because he was freely revealing the amount of his money/wealth. There are many ways in which our portfolio or crypto assets can be lost in cryptocurrency, including through hacking, phishing, and theft.

This is another serious issues with people out there because they don't know whom is who when it comes cryptocurrency investment, and they thinks that everyone who smiles at them is actually happy with their investment or even with their acquisitions without knowing that they could be planning evil at your back. A good investor and traders are not meant to flaunt their assets and acquisitions on the social media just get people's attention towards or wanting to make them believe that cryptocurrency trading and investment is real, all this can only leads to side attraction where it would degenerates evil to oneself, that is why one need to avoid displaying their investment and holding to friends and relatives because they can't be trusted for any reason.

People assume that exposing your crypto wallets and flaunting your wallets online is another means of people tending to feel among and not outcast by their peers, but unfortunately, it’s just a way of exposing your privacy and making everything publicly known to all which poses a very big risk and danger to not just your asset but also to your own life too.

Crypto assets are actually seen as a very luxurious asset that when you’re known to have some, you’ll be given some level of respect by the people and will see you as a wealthy person. In order to avoid suspicious activity around your crypto assets, it is better you don’t let people know you’re into crypto, maintain a very low profile in the social media space, because so many blunders being exposed there will actually cost what’s needed to be avoided from the public’s feed.

In the world we live in today, it’s always everyone for what you’ve got and when you tend to have so much and don’t keep your mouth shut about it while still being accessible to everyone, then you should be open to expecting the worst as well.

This issue goals beyond crypto, it is about personal security, in reality many crimes do not just happen randomly, they happen because information leaked somewhere, once people realize or even suspect that you have valuable asset, you automatically become targete, that's why people should always be careful the way them do things sometimes, keeping your financial life very private is a form of self protection, and also keeping your crypto security is also important, but silence and discretion are just as important too, not everybody need to know your progress for security purposes.

This is a heart touching story how can someone murder a student just to collect his investments in crypto currency, I just pray that the police finds the suspect and just be carried out and the punishment due to the murderers be meted out to them . But this should be a great lesson to we crypto enthusiastic especially in a country like Nigeria were some lazy people are looking for opportunities pray on others. My definition of crypto is a decentralized currency that you are supposed to be the only one to know about without disclosing to a third party. People are so careless these days and i don't know if they just want to prove a point that they are boys to them peer groups which is the reason why some of them show to others how much cryptocurrency they own. It’s actually really sad, his assets that should have been of advantage to him is what later took his life, this is a story we all should learn from, it portrays the fact that not everyone might be happy with once progress, hence we have to be careful with who we tell certain of our life progress to because not everyone really care, not everything too should be flaunted of social media too.

This is indeed a very sad one, who knows the amount of pain and sorrow his family's are going through right now I pray God strengthen them throughout this tough period of their life. Yes, it is true that the definition of crypto is that it is a decentralized currency but most people in this crypto space cannot ensure 100% security of their invested assets perhaps many people repeatedly fall into the trap of fraudsters due to ignorance, carelessness, and simplicity. The young man I mentioned did the same thing, very naively sharing information about his family and cryptocurrency assets with his classmates. To my knowledge, Bitcoin creator Satoshi may have already foreseen that fraudsters could be extremely dangerous for cryptocurrency, which is why he remains anonymous. Therefore, we Nigerians who regularly trade and invest in the crypto space should be vigilant so that no one can find the funds earned from that crypto and no fraudster can identify it.

There's no fame in exposing ones self, some people are very poor at maintaining privacy, they will always talk about everything concerning them to the public, taking it to the social media or informing their nearby friends, forgetting that not everyone will be genuinely happy about us concerning anything that we tell them, not even when we are into success and they are not close to what we are achieving, this should be a lesson to us in cryptocurrency, that we should not flaunt all we have or do to the public, we don't know who might attack by that.

Some people are so power drunk with show off and fame, they don't understand how privacy is when it comes to property and wealth. I think it's one thing to know how to gather money but it's another to know how to keep things lowkey. Most often when you make money and your friends are left out, they will say some sweet words like congratulations, I'm happy for you but the truth is many people are not happy for you, they feel jealous but will pretend.

Learn to keep quiet, the act of not showing off is one way to even keep money without bringing any attention to you. When people see that you have money, they will want to be friend with you because of what they can benefit from you and not because they want to be real friend. People don't care about the way you live your life if they are not getting anything from you.

The issue of flaunting your crypto holdings and the implications that comes with it has been discussed many times in this forum and we've seen people fall victim of being kidnapped or some other reasons because they were showcasing their crypto wealth online, now likewise to exposing yourself to classmates or course mate your crypto holdings, not everyone that loughs with you that really love you, some when they get to know you have such wealth they become jealous and may lead them into doing just anything to you, just to bring you down, some of them might be all this kidnappers agents.

We often get such news, if we do not really make ourselves aware, then we will often have to accept such a situation. There are many who trust their friend or any of their relatives and many share anything, but later those people become a cause of danger for them. Nowadays, greed among people has reached such a level that they do not hesitate to snatch the wealth of others. That is why one should not share one's secret information, especially crypto-related information, with anyone, but only keep it to oneself. As a matter of inheritance, one should not share one's wealth with anyone except the most trusted person for inheritance. I think whoever shares it will be responsible for any situation.
