The strangest logic imaginable. Everything in life has consequences. When it comes to gambling, there must be limits and discipline. There’s no single right answer here, because everyone is different. I don’t really understand what “high risk” means. If I play with $10–20 a week, is that high risk or not? For me, it’s not high risk at all, so I still call it entertainment.

I think we can call this a form of entertainment, but for that you need to treat it as a "cost of fun" and not as a form of income. The concept you researched is not wrong, what is usually wrong is the expectation you create around it.

When you go to a movie theater, a football game, a bar, etc... you pay for it and expect to receive what? Cinema... Two hours sitting in a chair in a dark room? football stadium... You are not completely correct but you are also not completely wrong. There are some things that you do to entertain yourself but at the end, you end up regretting it. Example is when someone that like to sleep with different girls and get infection like AIDs from it, or other bad infections that is not curable.

Sometimes even those games that give you amusement and joy in the first place like computer games or arcade games can turn into sorrow if you are a bad loser and cannot easily accept losing. The same can be said about gambling as it can make you nervous or make you do things that in your normal behavior they are not part of you. Gambling is not an entertaining things for those peoples who are actually things it is a easy path to become rich or it is a money generating source and I personally believe that those people who are affected by gambling like you already mentioned depression,trauma , huge loss etc those people are actually not the responsible gambling. In my opinion gambling is for entertainment as long as you are playing within your budget or bankroll management. This is where you're wrong. Entertainment doesn't necessarily have to end with laughter. People go to watch ballet dancers do their thing and are entertained by the performance. While the performance is enjoyed, there is barely any laughter involved. There are lots of activities that could be really entertaining without having any laughs.
Gambling can very well be categorized as an entertainment as a lot of people partake in the activity and are also amused with it. I think you would be surprised at the sheer number of different activities people indulge in and are also entertained with. I don’t think your comment on this topic is fair because not all gambling usually ends  with regrets and sorrow like you have just described.

If you take a look at those gamblers who stick to the “always gamble what you can afford to lose” rule you’ll see that they usually don’t have regrets even if they lose the money they deposited into their account because from the beginning they knew that there a possibility of them losing and thus the reason they went with something they can use and not feel too much emotion about it when they lose it.

The case you described are those chronic irresponsible gamblers, they are ones that would gamble and at the end of the day start to wonder why did they even bother to gamble at all? They would have just kept the money for something different but for a responsible gambler? He’s definitely going to have fun and if lucky make money from gambling at the same time.

According to that definition everyone gets sorry when they lose money and we know that’s now true at all. People lose money on many things intentionally and they still have a laugh about it. Humans do many irrational things every day or they seem to be irrational and random at the first glance but in the big picture those actions are not as arbitrary as they appear.

This benchmark for earning money is certainly not wrong but don't forget the word "luck" in it which means it's a matter of chance not everyone can profit from it. Furthermore even though we're currently in a situation where we gamble to win that doesn't mean we should put aside the fun of gambling as it can also be a way to enjoy the activity we engage in.
