Why gambling can not be seen as entertainment

That's the common reaction if you keep losing you'll be force to stop if you do still have such control, knowing that it's no longer enjoyable if you keep frustrating yourself trying to win but nothing good happened and you keep failing yourself to experienced some wins.

Obviously that's just it, have you ever wonder why most fun gamblers always panic after gambling for a long period and then decide to quit? That is because they are tired of the fun which they are expecting something different but since it's not working for them so they consider quiting as the best option, while those that doesn't have such control might loss it as they will be trying to test something different. So in all I would say that wining is expected even though we are gambling for fun because it is the wining that motivates us and also make the game to be more interesting.

When we gamble with what we can afford to loss and doesn't do it consistently it can be considered as gambling for fun doing it regularly isn't fun any more but addiction. The most fun part of gambling is when we are winning or winning most times or at least ones in a while, i a neighbor who is addicted in gambling but some times he will tell me he is just doing for fun something you are doing for fun and you are just losing and still call it fun instead to stop, we can have fun with friends at bars, party club or watching football games with friends without staking anything.

Gambling for entertainment or for profit doesn't make a gambler not to be prone to gambling addiction. Infact whatever the purpose of gambling maybe we shouldn't over do it. In  essence, entertainment always ends with laughter and enjoyment, then gambling that at times when we lose ends with regret, sorrow, lost of money and assets, cardiac arrest, bitterness and pains, anxiety, depression, trauma, at times even death, etc. Should we then say gambling is entertainment?

Is it wise to view gambling as a means of earning money? Suppose you have invested some capital in gambling, and if you lose some of it, will you be able to accept it easily? Is it wise to take up a job that depends on luck as a profession? When you are serious about gambling and have a desire to make money, it is natural for you to chase losses, so your chances of losing are high. Gambling for fun means giving up the money you are losing as the price of a match ticket.

I aggree with you, some people believe and think that once they are gambling for fun and entertainment that they won't be cut up with addiction, gambling is more than that and it is what we decide and our mindset, that will determine if we will get addicted or not and I also agree with you that  discipline is very important in gambling and it can help a gambler not to play or gamble more than they are meant to gamble. The reason why some people gamble anyhow is because of loss, whenever someone made loss they will always want to recover what is been lost and if this can be controlled then the chance of becoming an addict will be very small.

The problem is not even making a source of income that is the problem, some gamblers can be lucky to win a good amount of money but along their gambling time they become greedy and they change their wagering patterns because they want to win huge amount of money. They want to big quick that is why I think that making it a source of income is not the major problem of most gamblers. However to make gamble a source of income is totally wrong but some people are really winning based on their luck but greedy is what is making them to lose.

Greed does play a huge role in the financial ruin of many many gamblers out there. But people taking up gambling as a job, a means to earn some money is not healthy and would become a problem(financially and mentally) down the line. We all can give different interpretations to what gambling is or not, but we have to all aligned ourselves tot he common ones others view about gambling,  everyone of us must know that to gamble is a choice, and we have our various reasons why we are doing it, if we are making money from it, we can still call it an entertainment, if we are not, it does not still changes the same approach we are expected to give, because to some, losing is also part of the fun.

Yes, and with those alternative activities we don't need to do it regularly, but in terms of gambling if you keep doing it even you are saying that you are doing it to have some fun, if being done regularly and you are already losing amount which is no longer that supposed allocated budget for your gambling, means that you are already addicted and it will lead you to a deeper problem and will let you in regretting that involvement in the long run.

Whether a gambler do it regularly or not what matters is discipline, because there's a friend of mine that gamble regularly that is  every weekend. he has been doing this for some years now yet i don't see any sign of irresponsible gambler in him or being addicted, That is because he's well disciplined. so not all regular gamblers that is addicted, although in most cases those that gamble regularly is likely to be addicted to gamble because excessive doing of everything is not good which most people may not be disciplined enough to control themselves when they have cross their boundaries.

An extreme athlete wouldn't agree with you either🏂… For an extreme athlete, fun is gambling with the risk of physical injury or even death. However, that doesn't stop them.

I think the whole point is that fun means different things to different people. Everyone has their own definition of "pleasure." Pleasure for an intellectual, a sadistic masochist, an extreme athlete, and an ordinary person are completely different types of pleasure.

Gambling allows a person to engage in a struggle with Chaos and Fate. This also brings its own pleasure. Of course, no one usually gambles to lose. People gamble to win. However, in the process, they experience pleasure. Not necessarily joy and laughter, but always pleasure. If this weren't the case, then, in my opinion, people wouldn't gamble.
