Why gambling can not be seen as entertainment

From every day experience and things happening around us, I have made threads and I've read other people's threads concerning gambling, where people that replied to the post often referred to gambling as a game of entertainment, despite the high risk involved people still termed it as fun.

From the Oxford English dictionary, gambling can be defined as "the activity of playing games of chance for money" and entertainment is defined as "the action of providing or being provided with amusement or enjoyment". In  essence, entertainment always ends with laughter and enjoyment, then gambling that at times when we lose ends with regret, sorrow, lost of money and assets, cardiac arrest, bitterness and pains, anxiety, depression, trauma, at times even death, etc. Should we then say gambling is entertainment?

Which ever way you want to describe it,  people take it as a fun and a leisure time game for  fun.while at it.  Maybe i should say it is an individual thing because in in general what some people  take as having fun others may see it in a different light entirely.  You might engage in gambling activities just when you are in need of funds or when you want to try your luck on pick money. But I can on the other hand i can  go out with friends and decide to add gambling as one of the fun activities to do in the outing just for the fun of it. So will you gall that gambling for fun or gambling for funds?

It is this one-time potential advantage of a possible win compared to their regular income that pushes people to gamble. Why its not an entertainment? The pure reason on why gambling was created in the first place is just that for fun and entertainment. The main problem on here is that people switch up from entertainment to making it as a source of income and this is the main problem on why gamblers ending up on messing up their lives just because of this approach. Why it cant be seen as an entertainment? knowing that playing games could give out that pleasure and fun. Just like been said that too much fun isnt bad but be sure that you are that using up the funds on which you can afford to lose, because if you wont be having that control then you are just that basically putting up your financial situation into such big mess.

Gambling on what you can afford to lose and never ever tend to think up that gambling could make your life that better or making you rich. Its just that good for fun and the money that would be spent up is something that you do pay for the fun that you do experience.

Whenever people see gambling as a means of profit rather than an entertainment, the original purpose of gambling is defeated and the mindset automatically shifts completely. The money to put into gambling is no longer seen as paying for fun, but rather a kind of investment to save them from income limitations and financial pressure. At this point it becomes pretty easy to develop and nurture the mindset of one single win is capable of making all the difference, and with this mindset, gamblers begins to use all their available resources to chase that win, even when it involves taking loans and selling off some of their assets and properties.

One big part of the problem are high expectations of the players, that expect to win and are being persistant in gambling even when they lose everything. I understand that perserverence is good quality in men but that doesnt count in every activity.

For rich people gambling is a entertainment. But for poor it's pure greed. Poor people want to earn quick money or want to become rich  with small money. When someone gets hungry for money it's not an enjoyment its greed. Although I'm new in gambling still I know it because Some friends of mine do gambling like this. Btw I know when to stop and gamble for pure enjoyment. When you're short on money you shouldn't gamble instead look for a job. Gambling can ruin your life if you can't stop on time.

Basically everyone will have a different point of view, it's up to you and it doesn't matter, the most important point is to treat gambling minimally by only betting small amounts, as long as you don't experience any adverse effects from gambling then continue regardless of your point of view on this activity.

I also do not consider gambling as a place in which I can expect earnings, of course they can be, but only random and based on luck, because I do not have a winning strategy and complete strict emotional control. I'm not going to become a professional who makes a living from gambling, because I don't have the right personality type, I won't be able to maintain that pace or compete with such avid and professional players. Entertainment is entirely different, an actual entertainment requires you to pay money for fun, relaxation and excitement e.t.c...In other words..a good entertainment gives you the experience you came for before it ends..(you walk satisfied)..Examples are: Going to the Cinema, playing a sport, video games....(The reward is in the experience itself )

You know everyone have their own way of viewing things, we know for a fact that gambling is mainly for fun and entertainment but it is very hard for all gamblers to stick to the fun without looking at the profit aspect. But it is normal for a gambler to look into the profit aspect because we can't be throwing our money to gamble almost everytime and still feel okay with it when we already know that winning is also involved, so definitely they would want to try something different after enjoying the fun for a while.

So gambling basically when it is done just for fun, with obvious clear limits and no pressure at all, then it is a leisure activity but when you gamble because you need money, the mindset changes and it becomes stressful and risky. So the difference is the reason behind playing. gambling for fun only works when losing does not affect your life, so once money problems are involved, it will stop being entertainment.
