Would you appreciate if someone bought you bitcoin
This is Bitcointalk. I'm pretty sure anybody's answer to this would be Yes.  Wink

or do you think others would come to appreciate something that would be useable long term?
Perhaps only if they know what it is, its future value, and if they stay up long enough to listen to me explain it to them.
You wouldn't want to give it to someone with zero knowledge about BTC; it might end up in a dump somewhere 'cause they will think it's just another "internet money".

Anyone received any bitcoin for this Christmas this year? Might be a good time to gift out bitcoins because we can buy it for a cheaper price. Would you appreciate if someone bought you bitcoin or do you think others would come to appreciate something that would be useable long term?

I was planning to give Bitcoin to my niece but I changed my mind since it’s more convenient for them to received cash than Bitcoin since they will appreciate things that they can use immediately.

I once send gift to my friend before the first time I earn Bitcoin but it became a hassle for them to install and setup wallet for Bitcoin. In the end, they just ask me on how they will convert it to cash which they should have huge money now if they didn’t sell.

Physical gifts is more convenient to give to someone that is not educated on Bitcoin.

I tried offering a relative a choice between fiat and BTC while explaning that BTC would appreciate in the future unlike fiat. They chose the former 😂

It is very rare to see gifts in Bitcoin in this season. But one thing we need to learn as Bitcoiners, and also in signatures where Bitcoin is earned, we need to learn the habit of gifting ourselves Bitcoin, especially on special occasions like this—a special Bitcoin as a gift that can be set aside or accumulated with the Bitcoin you already have.

Most people don't know how to gift themselves. If you learn how to gift yourself, your loved ones will come to understand you don't joke with gifts, and they will always do the same for you on special occasions that mean so much to you.

Years ago it will be very easy for anyone to consider sharing Bitcoin as Christmas present but today its not so easy, its just like comparing faucet with this idea, no faucet are able to run today because of the value of Bitcoin, the sender has to be extremely rich to send Bitcoin as  Christmas present today, this is why it will be hard to believe anyone claiming that they sent Bitcoin to someone as Christmas gift.

For me NO" the question is who is even going to gift me Bitcoin? Because all my friends are only interested in holding Fiat even when I tried as much as I can just to get them to invest into Bitcoin yet they seem to give me tough time so I decided to let them go. So in that case, I literally have zero hope of receiving Bitcoin as Xmas gift, and since they don't care to listen to my advice then, I don't intend gifting them with Bitcoin. I could gift them with Fiat since it is the one they are capable of holding.

I personally would really appreciate someone buying me Bitcoin or even giving it to me as a Christmas present. But I think that rarely happens because people consider Bitcoin to be too valuable to give as a gift. Even if someone wanted to give me Bitcoin they would probably consider the amount. In addition I think giving Bitcoin as a gift is also important because it proves that Bitcoin can be used for any purpose. It is not limited to ordinary transactions but can also be used as a transaction of love. I personally also think that the current price of Bitcoin is a Christmas gift for this year, where we can consider it as such. And perhaps we can consider the current price of Bitcoin as a Christmas discount or even a New Year's discount. So anyone who buys Bitcoin at the current price has the potential to make a big profit next year or even in the following years. Wink

Gifting someone Bitcoin means you are not just giving them Bitcoin, but also giving them a box of information that could be enough to harm you. I have never received Bitcoin as a gift and I never plan to give it to anyone. It is not that I do not know who among my friends receives Bitcoin, but they will not be willing to exchange their address with me, because I will know the extent of their wealth. I do not want that either. So receiving Bitcoin from someone as a gift should be limited to dreams.

One can only be happy receiving bitcoin as a gift if its given to a person who has good background about bitcoin or crypto, otherwise it will be a waste of money because the receiver won't appreciate the value as he has no idea about bitcoin at all. Except if you are gifting a family member, you can always teach him after if you want so that he will also be aware how valuable bitcoin is, and how the bright the future if one decides to hold bitcoin for long term.

I am not expecting to receive a Bitcoin gift because I don't know anyone who is into Bitcoin personally. To me, it doesn't matter if it's bitcoin or not as long as I am happy with what I receive from someone then I'd be happy since they still remember me and haven't forgotten or they still give their little bit of time just to give me present. It's all about the thought of them giving me present. As others have said that it might be better for some people who can use it immediately.

I received different gifts during the Christmas, but what I received most from people is food items, nobody requested for my wallet address to send me bitcoin. I have friends that have crypto knowledge, but non of them send me bitcoin as my Christmas gift. I just feel people are not really thinking about gifting people bitcoin during festive period or just a random gift. Most people are holding their bitcoin for profit sake, and most people are not just ready to spend their bitcoin now.

I have been in bitcoin for some time also, but I never thought of gifting anyone bitcoin before. If you decide to gift some people bitcoin, maybe they won’t really appreciate it, and if you gift some people bitcoin, maybe after receiving the bitcoin, they going to sell the bitcoin immediately which it’s better to get a gift for the person.

Receiving Bitcoin as a gift this Christmas is one of the few things that I think can't be given to me. Friends and families I know would like to give the physical things that they know you can touch and remember them for, that they once gave you something for a Christmas gift. As for Bitcoin as a Christmas gift, I don't think many people have it in mind as what to give someone they know for Christmas. Such a thought hasn't crossed my mind in any way
They are wrong if they think only physical things can be remembered. For sure anyone can remember if they receive a digital cash that is high enough from their capacity. We are on a digital era right now and when I open my social media accounts, almost all in my friends list are sharing their QR codes from the digital wallets that they use, hoping that someone will scan it and gave them a Christmas gift.

If we want something physical but still involves Bitcoin, then we can put the coins inside a hardware wallet before gifting it. There is also physical Bitcoins that came with private keys to top up the BTC that are embedded on them.
