Do you think people with hard luck quit gambling?

I've personally experienced unlucky situations, but I continued gambling because I still wanted to win. So, I think whether or not to stop depends on each individual's awareness.

So many gamblers have this positive mindset toward gambling, which leads them to think that by keeping on playing, they have a chance of winning. Understanding is very important in gambling, and when you don't have the right understanding, you might think everything you are doing is the right thing. Mindset is the main factor in gambling, and if you have the wrong mindset, it can lead you to outcomes you never even planned for.

It's okay to think positively even when gambling but this mindset can become a little biased when those who lose always say they will succeed and reverse their previous losses which ultimately causes their mindset to cloud their rationality when gambling.

Many gamblers seem to think that this is a positive mindset but they don't realize that their situation is already dire and their mistake is fatal causing their expectations from gambling to go awry because their so called “positive” mindset slowly changes so that winning always becomes the goal in their gambling.

Yet we know that gambling is not just about winning in fact losing is what always dominates. However some of us do not think too much about this simply because we try to think positively about gambling which we always do.

Have you ever seen yourself in a situation where you made a conclusion that gambling is not for you or do you have any around you?

No matter how some individuals are exposed to gambling they don't still have the technical knowledge on how to maximize their winnings, they incurred losses more than profit. This categories of people have no gambling philosophy. Am aware of the fact that gambling is a game of luck but this specific people seem to be out of luck or under going hard luck each time they indulge in gambling.
do you suggest with me that such people should completely quit from gambling to prevent future losses that will suddenly turned them into addiction or you prefer them keep trying after all failure isn't fatal.

Oh yeah, I learned that gambling wasnt for me at a very young age. After having worked my way up from $10 to $180 at only 16 years of age and losing it all on one bet was a tough pill to swallow and on a cruise ship at that with no supervision I could have been living it up and it was in the early 2000s man oh man did I hate that outcome haha. Luckily my dad never noticed the 10 spot I picked from his wallet went missing and I was off the hook. No net gain and no net loss, just severe regret. I promised myself that I would never get into gambling without much caution after that.

People that are gambling at a young age can make mistakes from their bets and it will not be helpful to them when they gamble without any supervision. People are making losses from gambling due to wrong choices made to earn money when the person does not have the full consciousness to select games that will make them earn from gambling. Self supervision is not enough to make money from betting and that's the mistakes young gamblers are making to make money from gambling. Betting should have a limit and should not be everyday event.

I couldn't agree more. I was 16 when I first gambled wandering on a cruise ship while my parents were out to a dinner date. I was tall enough and old enough looking to pass for 18 at the time but my gambling experience back then was nearly 20 years ago. Things have changed so much. No kids can just hop on a browser and go over to the next crypto casino if they are savvy enough. Albeit most kids today probably aren't but with these younger generations that are more tech savvy you will find a select few that 1. know how to get their hands on some bitcoin or even on their parents bitcoin ( I took 10 from my dads wallet at the time). Kids thehse days gotta crack into the hardware wallet or even worse their parents cell phone and even when that happens they may have other layers to pass through. I was in a unique position when I learned my lesson at a young age, most kids probably wouldn't have the sauce I had!!! They might have another kind though...

If you have now understood the hand writing written on the wall and for it to be obvious to you that gambling is no longer fair to you or it is not favouring you then you need nobody to beg you before doing the needful, all you need is just make the big move by walking away and save yourself the stress and the exposure to more lost.

However sometimes we are the once causing problems for ourselves because I see no sense in trying to force something that isn't working, as a matter of fact gambling is not a do or die affairs perhaps every player is 100% free to work away at the moment if it's feeling toxic or bored  and offcourse nobody we question you for doing so.

But they are not mentally ready at that time. This situation becomes even more difficult for a person. In gambling, one should manage the funds and bet in such a way that gambling can be done for a long time. So, gambling can be continued for entertainment for a long time without any financial loss.

Yeah, I’ve been there, honestly. I had a phase where I kept telling myself “next time I’ll figure it out”, but every session just ended with regret and that tight feeling in the chest. being honest with on this that people with hard luck will never quit gambling because of the hope of winning might come at anytime and also staying a day, week or months without staking a bet, it will look like they are missing out allot of opportunities to that he/she could win, so a gambler is always aware of a hard time in the process of gambling and risky that is involved too, so I'm not seeing any people quitting just because those people have not been wining for a while but to continue betting for a better a day is coming.

a person who becomes addicted to gambling cannot quit easily even after losing. because there is always a hope in their mind that luck can change at any time. losing today does not mean they will lose tomorrow and they do not want to believe that. if they do not play for a few days weeks or months they feel like they are missing many big opportunities. they think that if they had played during that time they might have won. a gambler knows that gambling involves risk suffering and that most of the time the result is loss. even then the hope of one big win keeps pulling them back again and again. people quitting gambling just because of losses is very rare. most people continue with the hope of better days believing that one day their luck will surely change.

It is true that everyone want to win in gambling and not lost some can bear it when they don't win at the initial time and hope they will win some day just as others they know have won while their are those that can not bear it when they happens to lose on several occasions without winning, there can hard time for some people where others happens to win easily, winning encourages a larger percentage of people to keep gambling but I agree with that quiting after a one attempt should not be considered as being unlucky even while we know that one can be lucky than the others in this game of gambling.

However, there are some people who, despite betting repeatedly, face losses most of the time due to their lack of mental preparation, financial preparation, control and knowledge. In this case, the main problem is the lack of their own limits and self-control. If someone keeps losing in gambling repeatedly, it is safe and reasonable to quit completely rather than betting again to recover their losses. Therefore, if someone does not stop despite being at risk repeatedly, then not stopping is a big risk for him.

There is, but that is not me. Basically, in one religion that is the majority here, gambling is prohibited. They consider gambling a sin that must be avoided. I do not completely reject that view, but I studied it more deeply and came to the conclusion that gambling becomes a sin when people are exposed to gambling addiction and lose self-control. Simply put, anything done excessively is not good, especially gambling. The strong reason why I feel gambling is still part of my life is because this is where money circulation is very large and fast. If I do not enter the casino, then I feel like someone who does not want to broaden their knowledge just because of religion.

I concur with what has been mentioned here. When the time comes and you realize that you are no longer winning the gambling game, it is always wiser to walk away. Gambling is not a life or death game and no one is supposed to coerce oneself in the event it is a stressing or economic disadvantage. Difficulty is in the fact that recreational gambling becomes a habit or addiction after a long period of time- many are not psychologically prepared to give up even when they need to. Gambling is entertainment and this is achieved through proper management of bankrolls and clearly defined limits. A simple case of hard luck does not do any good to make people give up, it is the awareness, discipline and self control that makes the difference between someone giving up or going on.
