Anthony Joshua injured in Nigeria car crash, with two others dead

Imagine a few days ago, he was on the headlines and enjoying his winnings and praises from many boxing fans, and now here he is, he almost died from the accident. This is the highs and lows of life; we really don't know what will happen tomorrow.

It's good to know he is safe, but this is so traumatic for anyone. I know Joshua is such a strong guy with a strong character, but he, too, needs a consultation to ease the pain of what happened to him, and of witnessing the people who accompanied him, died from the accident.

He defeated Jake Paul, and I believe a lot lost their bets as some placed their bets on Paul. Of course, Joshua is a pro boxer so yes, he should definitely beat Paul and the match really showed such.
Luckily, he just sustained injuries as two of the passengers died in that tragic incident. For sure, it will be a traumatic day for him. Coming from a winning match and this...

I would say - he's very lucky to be alive if this was really his car. He needs to be more careful now in hiring drivers. Ego will always be there when it comes to driving, however, you need to think of your safety first and not the ego per se.

According to the recent release on what happened, they said the cause of the accident was as a result of the car which he was in trying to overtake another vehicle at a high speed. May the souls of those who lost their lives rest in peace. Drivers should learn how to control their speed limit even if they are escorting a VIP.

I feel so bad for Joshua gets this incident just after he won big bag of money. I saw his mimick from the picture after the crash and he seems feel so hurt especially on his legs, though it's minor injury. RIP for two guys who deceased in this incident, and it seems those are his english friends.

What a very sad news, but we thank God that he is safe but he just lost two of his friends. This may traumatized him because it's unforeseen circumstances, he is coming back home to be happy with this people and unfortunately the incident occur definitely he will be traumatized. Excessive speed was probably the cause of the accident.

It's very possible. According to what I read, his vehicle collided with a stationary truck parked along the road. Nigeria's roads are bad with many potholes. It might be that the car was on top speed and when it entered a pothole, the driver missed control, and ram into the truck.

From what I see, he survived because he was sitting in the back seat. If he had been sitting in the front seat with the driver, he would have had the misfortune of dying.

It's just God's mercy. Actually, AJ's SUV had four occupants and the part of the car that impacted on the trunk was the right side. The two persons seated on the right side (both front and back) didn't make it, but him and the driver came out alive.

I just checked and saw it was true, this happened today and he was very lucky to have escaped this incident that claimed others lives, am just happy that he was not so unfortunate to be the second celebrity to be deceased after the Christmas celebration, it was indeed a narrow escape for him, the roads are bad and am just thankful this does not end the way others experienced theirs and depart.

I didn't no that Anthony Joshua was in the country this holiday, when I heard people who doesn't no his name talking about an accident that happen to a famous Nigerian boxer I didn't no it was him they were saying until I saw the news, thank God for his life because you can tell it wasn't a minor accident as it resulted some persons losing there lives. Has he been in the country before now?, or he was just on his way going to his hometown for the holiday?. He will definitely come back to Nigeria ones in a while because there is no country you will not see a road accident.

Joshua has been in a lot of pain in his boxing career, but looking at this footage, he has never been in this pain before. It looks unbearable for him, but it's good to know that he is safe. He will need a long rehabilitation.

The problem with most celebrities is always overspeeding, i don't know who is chasing after them that they are always in a hurry to move. In Nigeria it is a very common thing with celebrities overspeeding with their escorts and sometimes they even cause damage to others why they remain unharmed. Just look at how that careless attempt to overtake another vehicle has led to the unfortunate death of others while he just sustained a minor injury. The accident of Diogo Jota should have sent a message to most influential personalities about the consequences of overspeeding and overtaking different vehicles why at high speed.

It is good to be fit and conscious at all times mostly during long distance travels by land because it will save anyone as compared to die by shock during such an accident.

He's okay; at least he's standing upright, but the pain and shock of the accident will affect him.

Now going back to that video, what are the people turning into? They prefer to be taking record of a celebrity instead of offering help, all those phone cameras just to be the first to post the incident instead of giving that young man space to breathe in some fresh air.

The problem with most celebrities is always overspeeding, i don't know who is chasing after them that they are always in a hurry to move. In Nigeria it is a very common thing with celebrities overspeeding with their escorts and sometimes they even cause damage to others why they remain unharmed.

But most of those celebrities don't drive themselves; it's the work of the one with a licence, which is the hired driver, to take caution of how they are driving, and those escorts, which are supposed to protect the lives of people, should always know what to do. Being in a hurry can also send the person to an early grave.

Based on the FRSC report, the fault was actually from the driver that was driving the Lexus Jeep...It was reported that the driver ignored the speed limit and was engaging in reckless overtaking and speeding which led to the collision. So I think the warning should just be to only truck driver, all road users really have to take a very good private lesson before they are giving vehicles to operate on the road....Am really anticipating his fight against Tyson Fury, so I wish him a speedy recovery.

I heard about the car crash, but I'm seeing a picture of the car now. It was a terrible car crash. Antony Jashuo is very lucky to have survived. If he had been in the front of the car or the driver, he wouldn't have had a chance of survival. The cause of the accident is still being investigated, and there are already many theories, but I think it's likely due to the driver. It's too early to say for sure though.

This is a very sad news, he could have lost his life in the accident after recently celebrating his win over Jake Paul, I'm glad that he survived, I hope that he didn't sustain any major injuries that could put his career on hold. The incident took place on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State. There, his SUV hit a stationary truck. Investigations are currently underway to determine what caused the accident. He had just gone there for a ride after beating Jake Paul, and the accident, the timing is really strange

It is a relief to see that he is not in any major danger but it is really sad for the two people who died

They crashed into a stationary lorry, that sight of spoilt lorry parking along the road is common in Nigeria, the truck carrying tomatoes probably had some fault and was parked along the road,  the SUV they were traveling with crashed into the stationary lorry while overspeeding as was confirmed by the road safety authority. The crash was caused both by the parked faulty lorry and their overspeeding by the car carrying Joshua and his friends. It's very sad event though. RIP to his dead friends and speedy recovery to him.

They forgot that most places in the country lack good road so driving above the speed limit will cause damage. I also think they may be on some substance, because Anthony Joshua should be a professional one.
