identifying some gambling addicts can be easy because when you look at how they live and eventually find out that they are gamblers you don't need rocket science to know that they are addicted...This doesn't really apply to everyone though, there are others that keep it together when in public but secretly they get involved in things that they are not proud about..for most addicted players you can identify them through their lifestyle, being in debts, drinking, smoking and drug use

I know that you are still new heere but if you had been using the search bar on the forum, you will see many discussions that is based on how to identify someone that is addicted to gamble.
To identify addicted gambler is easy, with the way the gamble is spending a lot of money on bet you will know, some of them don't get comfortable any day they did not bet. Some still don't have time for their families anymore because of gamble addiction. The only thing to do if you have ever come across those type of gamblers is give advice because that is what they really need.

When you made your mind that you are going to quit gambling because of financial loss or simply you feel it is adding more pressure in your life and staying away from casino and one day you just ended up playing all of a sudden that is what the addiction will look like, even if you want it to stop it will be very hard that moment says the person is seriously fucked uip and need help from the outside.

What I have said is how the addiction when it reaches the peak stage, but in the early stages you will be like gambling more time, spending more money and can't accept the loss, chasing the loss and so on. It is something that build over the time not just instantly.

If you haven't gambled yet, my advice is better not to. Just find enjoyment elsewhere. You already know the risks of gambling addiction, and if you still want to gamble, then prepare yourself to avoid becoming addicted. This might include managing your finances and knowing the amount you can risk. This can be daily, weekly, or monthly. Create your own rules. 

If you see someone spending all their earnings on gambling, you can see them as a gambling addict. This is because the person cannot manage their finances, as well as their self-control.

My way of identifying someone who is addicted to gambling,

1. Gambling with money that they can't afford to lose.

2. You spend more time on a gambling platform to the point that you neglect your family and your work.

3. Treating gambling as a source of income when in fact it's not possible, to the point that you are chasing your losses.

I have a lot of addicted gamblers in my environment and one thing they all have in common is borrowing money, no matter what they earn from work or any other source they always end up broke within a short period of time then they start looking for where to borrow money from. when I see someone consistently borrowing money from different places my mind starts suspecting that they are addicts

If you were able to identify for one, what else can you do for such person, or are you only going to be obsessed by knowing what they are up to without helping with the whole situation.

Not everyone can be able to identify for a gambler who is addicted except you're more closer to them and being able to know the actual situation with them as they gamble, so knowing an addicted gambler is not everyone's ability to identify for one and if we do, we need to be able to help out in the situation in our own way.

It depends on what type of gambler you intend to identify, from my point of view there are two types of gambler one is a responsible gambler dependent on the game anyway but he does not self-destruct social and economic life, he maintains a certain balance.
The second case is the toxic gambler, who self-destructs by squandering everything he owns and also destroying his own social life.
You easily recognize them, the first case is a very normal person living his balanced life, the second is very neglected and in an evident state of mental confusion.

That includes the momentary symptoms when you gamble, it includes the signs if it is done as often as possible when gambling, I need to add that when our feelings want to continue gambling when it has reached the maximum limit that we have set, it is usually one of the very big symptoms but we are not aware of it, wanting more after what we have done, this is common in other addiction symptoms, so if it is continued it will increase the addiction to be more severe.

If someone is behaving quite differently than usual, that should already be a red flag. Imagine someone you know acting weird and feeling like he is hiding something, then there could be something. This is like the brute way.

A person who gambles repetitive without managing their bankroll is called gambling addiction. If you find any person who can't spent a single day without playing or having the thoughts of  gambling you can surely call them a pure gambling addicted. They become desperate to just play, place a bet. I have some friend's who almost lost everything from gambling but they still place bets to play more.

Even if you warn them for their good they won't listen to you, no matter what you do or say them . They ain't gonna convince unless they are left empty handed. Restricting them makes ur friendship in trouble.

Moderate your gambling activities and if you're seeing that person or even you that have been so active with gambling. That even before and after you sleep, you're already thinking of it. Well, that's clear indication that you're already addicted in gambling. And when you're also overstretching your gambling budget, you are already there and about to get addicted in it. When you're so obsessive about it, another sign that you are looking for is that. You just can't resist a day won't pass without you gambling.

Identify if they are contradicting individuals. That is, if they act in a way which goes directly against what they claim to be or to do.

Addicted people are highly contradicting. Their acts don't sustain their words, what means they aren't to be trusted, otherwise you may get into trouble because of them.

Addicted can be helped, but you always have to make sure to maintain your position and distance in most cases in order to protect yourself.
