This is the reason I brought this topic, this happened in the past but some people can still be vulnerable, reading this might help them to know about this kind of impersonation.

I can easily know that someone is an impersonator and I avoid him but for you that do not know easily, you can:

1. Set anti-phishing code
2. Contact the exchange customer care to confirm
3. Avoid any email that you do not request for

I always want to deal with actions and activities directly from the app and not through emails and this has helped me escape lots of issues, emails should be used as notifications medium only, real actions should be done from the genuine apps and not through email action buttons.

This is a very nice catch by ZachXBT, he surely deserves his flowers for being so clinical in tracking his activities to a physical identity.

Gambling is no respecter of anybody. Everyone who engaged in it can either lose or win. The guy set himself up with too much display was so careless in his spendings and I hope he's been picked up by the Canadian government to answer for his crimes.

In the casino itself, illegal transactions are not usually allowed, because these funds have been mixed, it is likely that the casino will not detect the deposits he made illegally, it could also be that if he makes a withdrawal, his funds will be frozen --- you have a point, it is also possible that the fraudster will lose a lot in gambling, he thinks it might be free money so he can gamble as much as he wants without thinking about anything.

Easy comes easy goes, I am sure that the scammer already aware with the risks associated with gambling and also means to exploit it windows, he may be gambling with the money just to conceal his stolen funds through gambling, so for that reason we can't say anything about gambling in this regards rather try to establish the illegal reasons behind the scammers gambling with the money.

Email serves a lot of purposes. Some links are sent to your email to direct you to the main official website. For example, if you want to recover your account, you receive an email containing a directory link that will open a webpage to set up your account.

You can deny the function of email, but you only have to be more careful, just as the OP has said. Anyone who dont know how to differentiate a fake link from a real one should go and learn.

People can go far with gambling addiction. And that guy has blown people's money so that he can gamble. It's the kind of addiction that many struggles with. They're often led to do bad things like this guy did, to scam people and to spend their money to gamble.

It is a good thing that you can never be a victim of these scammers but I have to say that you should go easy on your downplaying on how others act when it comes to these scammers, not everyone is like you and it can never be like that anyway.

When a person doesn't legit work for money then expecting him to be wise about how to spend it is a mistake on your part, most people don't value things they didn't work for and this is especially true for a scammer but blowing away most of the fund on gambling makes me wonder if he was desperately trying to get more money out of the casinos or if he just like wasting it of if he was addicted to gambling, personally him being addicted to gambling is probably the one that makes sense as twisted as the idea might be.
People really should avoid situations like this one and not fall victim to scammers, most of not all exchanges have their legit contacts and usually warn against doing anything outside of these.

There is nothing rare about it, this is just how life is. As some people are wise, some people are stupid. As some scammers will be wise, some will be stupid. As you see some scammers that are womanizing, some will spend on something that will make them become broke, thinking they will make extra money, butwhat if the money does not come again as it was coming before. Well I am impressed people still fell for such obvious phishing/scamming ideas which are pretty old nowadays. The scammers always have a weak point also and in this case was gambling which led somewhat to undercovering this ongoing scam. I also wonder why such scammers keep posting in social media as here where I live not long ago the son of a cleaning lady was showing himself with Audi A8 and luxury cars and his mom the cleaning lady was stealing from politicians. From phone interceptions she was telling her son I did not steal that much just 50.000 EUR, so scamming was here, is here and will be here. People should be more aware about it.

There are couple of things to learn from this topic, as OP gave some tips to avoid being scammed we should take his advice to avoid being scammed by impersonators. Another thing to note is that scammers always give themselves up by their extravagant lifestyles, when they want to spend money they spend big and attract attentions to themselves. They spend on gambling like money launderers and it will tip authorities off to carry out checks on them to know the source of their wild spendings. We need to be at alert all the time especially when we are online to avoid being scammed.

Showing off is now one of the signs that your money isn't clean, if you work very hard for your money you won't go into a casino and start risking millions on games knowing fully well that you will lose the amount, but since the money was never from your sweat you won't be bothered.

ZachXBT is everywhere and I keep hoping that scammers keep making stupid mistakes like this one, even if smart trackers are not in your group online people are watching your every move, imagine how many of them have gotten exposed this year alone because they failed to keep their mouth shut.

Most thieves who steal large sums of money spend it on gambling, women, or drugs. I'm glad he lost his money gambling; this is a punishment he deserves because those who steal people's money deserve even worse.

Activating the anti-phishing code is a security priority, and more importantly, don't respond to any chat on Twitter or Telegram unless you initiated it. Support on all platforms always emphasizes that they don't contact users unless they contact them first.

But as the money comes from scamming, he will not think the best he can do but only wasting the money. The scammers will loss their money in gambling.
