Twitter is actually good for many things, news updates gets to me faster than other sources and also crypto related news, they are always accurate, the only part that I find to bee truth is the altcoins investments, many influencers who talks only about altcoins investments have been wrong throughout 2025 and yet they are still faking it till today that altcoin season will happen, many people have been fooled, they don't want to accept that this time is truly different.

People should learn to do their own research, in the case of altcoins if you already heard the name from influencers it's already too late because they already positioned successfully and they are only waiting for people who will buy their bags.

You will have to face with Twitter addiction as same as all other social medias. With their modern algorithms and AI works, nowadays you will not only read tweets from people you followed but from many random accounts, that might consume your time, cause addiction, and harm your life quality.

In cryptocurrency, if you only invest, don't trade in this market, and especially if you only invest money in Bitcoin, reading news daily is not necessarily for your investment practice. It even might make you more uncertain, become more emotional, then act wrongly as well.

I believe that the less time you use Twitter, the better for your life quality and your Bitcoin investment.

It is true that Altcoin Season so much promised by people in 2025 did not happen in same way it did in past, in large part due to habit of influencers to be paid money to push coins on idea that early investors can sell their part to unaware masses. Research shows that although twitter is quickest news site, it is also full of fake likes by robots and wrong info which is supposed to trick you into making bad trades. I share same view of fact that when you are being told of coin by influencer, then chances are that you are helping him/her sell their own coins to make some gain. I would suggest to use on chain data tools to watch where actual Whales of money are in real time and this is much safer to follow in 2026 than hashtags.

You just need to be aware of the information. Twitter is a great platform for cryptocurrency, but I guess it wasn't for something like legitimate articles for crypto since most of the information on X or twitter are just made by people not really someone or a website that is credible when it comes to news, anyone could just made and post anything on social media on twitter and says that it is a legitimate one, anyone could post a scam link and a lot of people actually fall on it.

A lot of crypto projects out there are starting on twitter page so you could see most of the projects have a good amount of following on X since that is probably where they started and where they do the daily updates for the projects, and I guess it is already a thing since the beginning and even today we see new projects starting on twitters. But still you need to double check everything since new projects doesn't mean its legitimate since anyone could just create and say it is a new project.

You need to check everything what they do, what they already do, what the there experience, do they have a good following etc. Bottomline is it is still going to be a gamble most of the time since you need to relay on your own research about the information, If you just doesn't know how the information on twitter works, I suggest to stick on some legitimate website first for you research, since a lot of scam projects are already on X.

Social media account can be created by anybody. These accounts can be used to spread fake information without any consequences. The highest punishment would be a ban. And the individual could still register with a different personal information.

Established crypto news platforms would be careful of the information they give out because they are business entities that can be sued. Sometimes when they give out information, they apologise and withdraw such news.

The information in this forum is enough to keep me educated and information. However, I still do more researches from more than one sources to ensure that the report is accurate.

Social media is mainly for entertainment, I don't take information there seriously except it is coming from a verified account or I have confirmed from other sources.

Frankly speaking social media is not the best place to learn about Bitcoin nor crypto, and not only twitter. And as far as am concerned social media is full of misinformation. wrong and incorrect information  are being shared on social, and most people who are sharing wrong informations on social media are doing it to deceive others, because of what they intend to gain. It is better you do your own research than take what you saw on social media. But that's doesn't mean all the information that are being shared on social media are wrong or incorrect, most of them may be correct but always verify the information to be true before sharing it to others.

Are you sure that informations on twitter are always accurate? I don’t really think so because any information which I see on twitter, I always make sure i confirm the legitimacy of the information from other sources before am going to believe the information. Twitter is just full with people giving false information, some people are ready to do anything possible to get engagement, so they are ready to post anything just to get people’s attention. Any information you see about bitcoin or crypto related informations should be confirmed from other sources before you believe it, don’t be deceived by what someone that’s looking for engagement is posting.

Personally, I already find much useful information here on the forum and I believe everything I need is here, so looking for another alternative isn’t an option to me yet. Finally the advice you gave in the last paragraph is correct. Most of the information about coin that is spread on social media is not correct. It is better to do your own research and take advice from experts before investing. Before joining the forum, I have had the experience that many experienced investors will not give you the right advice. You have to take their advice but while investing, you should invest based on your financial capacity and your own research.

Things grew from bad to worse since Elon Musk took over and verified badges became just $8 monthly. Personally, I just go to twitter to catch cruise and drag some institutions in my country who got on my nerves. I don't take any information I got on twitter any seriously until I have verified it handsomely through other reliable means like this forum.

Useless projects get shilled on Twitter now and I was taken aback when I even saw OF users getting verified badges on twitter and posting up to 15minutes porn videos there to hunt clients, too bad.

It has been in people's mentality for a long time that the information they find on X is correct, no need for them to make further findings on that. You can imagine what would have led many individuals to have full confidence in X for the information they are to get, to be correct, without learning to carry out research, if what they read or are told is feasible.

These days, I don't know whether it is laziness will it be called for many people not going beyond the information they learn from X. What they do know is that X is a hub house where different information is passed to millions of people. Whatever information they get from there is legit. Because social media like Twitter  (X) has become the main social media for more public information and depends on who is followed as you say, although it's not just Twitter (X) at the moment.

Following CZ binance or some influential people in crypto will be a good suggestion to know how information develops around crypto,
because everything will also be related to Fundamentals, which correlate with Technical analysis.

And that self-research is not only limited to social media, but to all aspects that allow crypto to thrive and have access to information and all knowledge.

This all depends on the personalities you're following on twitter. Before you follow any user on X you must have to do your own due diligence. There are personalities you would never regret following them on X, especially those seasoned bitcoin maxis. Perhaps you can always start with Bitcoin Archive and Bitcoin Magazine. There are host of other good suggestions I believe preceding replies would share too.

Even with all these good and reputable bitcoin maxi we have active on Twitter, which is now known as X we should not follow them blindly for any type of information that they post online, we still need to be careful and run our own research and, if possible, cross-check and with how easily we see accounts also being hacked on X even a top company CEO account can be hacked and used to share wrong information.
