It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

That seems true, but this is now the longest chain, isn't it?

Academic interest in bitcoin only. Not owner, not trader, very skeptical of its longterm success.

If I have over half the post-rate with my ASICbot, can I mess with the chains?

Do you refer to "mess with" as breaking it?

Or maybe just have fun by manipulating it and seeing people panic, like the Joker?

Can't you just stop "watching" this thread, or delete your posts here if you regret it so much? Tongue

Is there anyone strong-minded enough to dare unwatch this thread before reading its last post?

Considering the size of this thread and your total post count, perhaps by using the forum's search function or google/startpage/wtv?

PS: also, from what I've read, it seems that deleting your posts doesn't always work; sorry, but you might actually be stuck with this thread. Wink

Or is the unit  newton-tesla-hashes per volt ampere^2 seconds, which requires a scale-multimeter-ASIC-miner device?
I know who were Newton and Tesla and Volta and Ampère, but who was that Hash guy?

What will be the last post of this thread?

Do you think there ever will be "the last" post on this thread?

Why didn't you answer the question?

Indeed, sorry, but how could I possibly remember whether that rule has been upheld throughout the following 200+ pages, and has not been implicitly weakened by precedents, namely blatant deviations that were tolerated by the community?
