There has been a wide Bitcoin adoption but it seems many people has are not aware of places where Bitcoin can be spent. There is an active thread since the beginning of 2025 where Bitcoin can be spent and I made a compilation of real places Bitcoin can be spent, the locations where Bitcoin are accepted across the world.

posterplaces where you can spend bitcoin Background Story

Emeraldo The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts
Quote

The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts is recognised as the first international hotel group in the world to accept cryptocurrency for hotel bookings. The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts partnered with leading London-based global crypto-payment gateway Coindirect to make this possible. Since July 2021, customers can now pay with 42 virtual currencies upon booking a stay at any of their properties.

El Salvador, under President Nayib Bukele, became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender in September 2021, aiming to boost financial inclusion, cut remittance costs, and attract investment, despite concerns from the IMF and World Bank. The move, legislated in June 2021, mandated businesses to accept Bitcoin alongside the US dollar, supported by the government-backed Chivo wallet, which offered a $30 Bitcoin bonus to encourage adoption, though usage has been mixed.
Churchillvv Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
Quote
Luxembourg being one of the place where saw the vision of bitcoin (having one of the oldest bitcoin exchange Bitstamp is bitcoin friendly for travel. You can book flights from platforms that accept bitcoin directly even though some major airlines don't accept but few do accept bitcoin.

You can also book hotels, shop in boutiques using bitcoin, I think it's also one of the places that bitcoin gain ground on since 2011 that Bitstamp was founded there but is not really in concentration.
Rashlyowl Bali, Indonesia
Quote
Bali used to be a haven for spending BTC, but with current government regulations, there is no longer any room for BTC as a means of payment. However, we have many trusted CEXs, you can exchange your BTC first for Rupiah, then use that shit FIAT.

List of the most trusted CEX in Indonesia:
(1) Indodax
(2) Tokocrypto
(3) Pintu

If you decide or have plans to go there, I have some places that you should not miss to visit, they
Abdulzuruku01 Canada Sandman Hotel Group
Quote
Sandman Hotel Group is among the first hotels to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment according to my research. They have been doing so since July 2014, and they have partnered with Coinbase to process Bitcoin transactions. This is because the company's vice president of marketing realized that more and more customers are interested in paying with cryptocurrency, and he emphasized that the company should start accepting Bitcoin payments because they have more than 60 hotels across Canada.
Kagaru Ljubljana, Slovenia
Quote
one of the places where I can add is Ljubljana, Slovenia.
It is a small capital city, but it is very modern and crypto friendly. There are such cafes as Bitcoin Cafe where you can obviously pay using BTC, there were also a couple of hotels and hostels that allowed paying with it, such as BitCenter Hotel.

 is Actually Pretty Bitcoin-Friendly country
If you're into crypto, Singapore is one of those places that really stands out. The government, through the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), has set up a clear framework for how crypto businesses can operate legally. That kind of regulatory clarity is rare in this space, and it gives exchanges and startups the confidence to build without constant fear of getting shut down. There’s no capital gains tax either, which is a nice bonus for crypto traders. Overall, Singapore strikes a good balance — they support innovation, but they also take compliance seriously. That’s why a lot of big names in the crypto world have set up shop there.
d5000 Dresden, Germany
Quote

Known as the "Florence of the Elbe", Dresden in the south of Eastern Germany is known for several stunning historic buildings, like the Frauenkirche, one of Germany's finest baroque churches. There are also some very interesting art museums in the city. If you're more of an outdoor freak, you can visit the nearby Elbsandsteingebirge, a hilly forested region with interesting rock formations, ideal for trekking and spa tourism.

It was surprising for me to see that Dresden has a really good number of Bitcoin-accepting businesses for a city of that size (500,000 inhabitants), more than nearby Leipzig which has a higher hipster population. There are several accomodation options as well as food, places to drink beer and even a bakery Smiley See BTCmap.

Another interesting fact is that in Germany you have gift cards from several supermarket chains you can re-fill directly with Bitcoin.

I have checked Bali at BTCmap and there is at least one accomodation and several food businesses listed. So the entry of Bali here is OK. Maybe they circunvent the "payment prohibition" by simply declaring the transfer a barter. Normally everybody is free to exchange any (non-illegal) good for another good, and if one of these goods happens to be Bitcoin ...

El Salvador, on the other side, is really a low hanging fruit Tongue , but okay it's of course welcome here too. I'd like to know more about specific destinations there Wink
Riceandbean Hong Kong
Quote
While a lot of places around the world are getting stricter with crypto, Hong Kong still feels surprisingly open when it comes to Bitcoin. The local regulators have taken steps to build a proper licensing framework, so legit exchanges can actually operate without looking over their shoulder all the time. It’s not a free-for-all, but at least there are clear rules. OTC trading is still alive and well, and plenty of crypto firms keep offices there because of the city’s strong financial system, low taxes, and connection to the mainland. Things aren’t as wild as they used to be.

Switzerland being an old European city is filled with so many beautiful places and monumental architectural beautiful and ofcourse beautiful and wonderful hotels and cold mountain for hiking and nature exploration

Switzerland is one of the place to visit and experience the freedom of actually using your Bitcoin and also enjoying yourself to the fullest.

I think if there is any place consider to be a safe heaven for Bitcoin then it would probably be Switzerland, I mean Bitcoin is virtually accepted in almost all city and there are countless shops and business that accept Bitcoin for payment.

They have been stories and evidence of even the town major and leaders of a city in Switzerland making in which shows the level of freedom of your use of Bitcoin over there in Switzerland Bitcoin acceptance in lugano
Jaycoinz ESTONIA
Quote
I think Estonia is one of the friendly countries that accept Bitcoin and Bitcoin users don't have to hesitate when it comes to it usage although just like every other countries one or two regulations are here and there but nothing taunting to affect the use of Bitcoin.

Infact it's well known and even recognize that one of the biggest financial firms in the country offers client to trade and explore in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general which is sound statement to how Bitcoin is acceptable in the nation
Royal Cap Czech Republic- Prague
Quote
Prague is a gold mine to Bitcoin tourists. The city is historic with its beautiful castles and pavement road, yet there is more of a shock as to the number of businesses that receive BTC. BTCmap states the existence of more than 150 businesses (hotels, hostels, restaurants, etc.). There are such opportunities to have a good Czech dinner (such as Restaurace U Ceske Lipe) or stay in a hostel friendly to BTC (such as Czech Inn). It is also easy to find some Bitcoin ATMs around the place where one can cash out on them in case of necessity. It has long been a tech-savvy city, and it is also highly walkable, and you can stroll around such iconic sights as the Charles Bridge and spend your BTC
d5000 Buenos Aires, Argentina
Quote
A vibrant metropolis with an immense cultural scene, and home to several Bitcoiners too. The long history of inflation and unstability has made Argentina one of the countries with most Bitcoin ownership in the Americas, and thus it's not surprising there are some hotels and restaurants you can pay with BTC. One can almost speak about a "Bitcoin district" in the city center, where you can find a Bitcoin-accepting shop in almost every block, and in total there are around 100 Bitcoin-accepting businesses. You can find restaurants, bars, Bitcoin ATMs, some few places for acommodation and shops at BTCMap here. The image shows Floralis Generica, a moving sculpture located in a big park, the perhaps most unique attraction of the city..
d5000 San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina
Quote
The city of Tucumán has about a million inhabitants and lies on the foot of jungle-covered mountains called the Yungas. It's a great place to explore Northwestern Argentina and has a lot of historic buildings, close to Salta, the Rio Hondo spas and the Quilmes pre-columbian city. This is actually the only interesting place in Argentina outside of the capital Buenos Aires where I have found both accomodation and food with payment in Bitcoin. The BTCmap location is here. Tucumán has about 20 businesses accepting Bitcoin, which is quite good for a city off the beaten track!

In Argentina you can also buy some gift cards with Bitcoin at Bitrefill, for example for the Carrefour and Dia supermarkets (at least Carrefour is present in both cities and many others too) and also some restaurants. See Bitrefill Argentina.

Berlin in Germany is the unofficial Bitcoin  capital of Europe because many businesses accepts bitcoin payments.
Cafes and restaurants in Kreuzberg accepts bitcoin payments. Boutique and hotels in Berlin accepts bitcoin. Germany is a crypto friendly country and support cryptocurrency..
Ruttoshi PARIS, FRANCE
Quote
Paris is n France, ans there are a lot of businesses that accepts bitcoin but not directly because they use a service called Bitpay and cryptorefill to receive payments in bitcoin.
Examples of businesses that accepts bitcoin are as follows.
Hotels, Cafe, boutiques and restaurants in Paris accepts bitcoin payments.
FrankolalaLisbon, Portugal
Quote
Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and the city accepts bitcoin as payment. Also some tech savvy areas accepts bitcoin as payment too. You can use bitcoin to pay for your electric bills to electric supplier company like Lisbao who accepts bitcoin. Some restaurants and Cafes accepts bitcoin. Online retailers accept bitcoin. The Pavillion Hotel and Resort Groups accepts bitcoin and some other hotels. Lisbon is a cryptofriendly city.

Switzerland is one of the many countries that accepts Bitcoin payment in their businesses. Here are some luxury hotels in Switzerland that accept Bitcoin:
- The Chedi Andermatt: This 5-star hotel in the Swiss Alps accepts Bitcoin and Ethereum payments for stays starting at CHF 200. They partnered with Worldline and Bitcoin Suisse to enable cryptocurrency transactions.
- Dolder Grand: Located in Zurich, this hotel has been accepting Bitcoin since 2019 and partnered with BitLux private jets for a luxury travel venture. Guests can enjoy two-Michelin-starred cuisine and stunning views of Lake Zurich and the Alps.
- FIVE Zurich: This Dubai-based hotel chain accepts Bitcoin and Ethereum payments at its Zurich location, catering to its young clientele who prefer digital currency payments.
- The Kameha Grand Zurich: This modern luxury hotel accepts Bitcoin as a payment method for accommodation and other services, targeting tech-forward travelers
nutildah  Las Vegas, Nevada
Quote
One of my favorite places in the world is Las Vegas, Nevada. Tons of places accept BTC there, including hotels. Plus they have a wide selection of Bitcoin ATMs all over.

If you go inside the Heart Attack Grill on Fremont Street, you'll find one of my favorite Bitcoin ATMs of all-time. It has very low fees, accepts a number of different coins, and you can cash out quite a bit before any kind of KYC is required. Was quite convenient. As for the food in there, I'm ashamed to say I've never tried it... They make you wear a patient gown when you go inside -- that was a dealbreaker for me..
Doan9269 Dubai and Maldives
Quote
With this two lovely countries for your vacation, you will be more surprising on the natural beauty of the environment in both Dubai and Maldives, because they were both known for the natural ambience for relaxation, pleasure and the greatest of the fun it's creates along side a coastal region where water makes the compliment to the beauty of their nature.

You also don't have to worry about spending bitcoin in these regions, because they are crypto friendly and have more options that permits for bitcoin payments, we have visitors from across the world coming to these locations to have their holidays and vacations.

Marykeller Malta
Quote
Malta in the Mediterranean Sea, known as Blockchain Island, is another good place to be in 2025. Every year, the city hosts a crypto conference, and there is a web3 startup community over there. You can join if liked. With a global hotel card, someone can book a crypto-friendly hotel over there and pay for a personal trainer with Bitcoin.
Die_empty Bangkok, Thailand
Quote
The South Asian country recently introduced a tax free law for crypto users for four years. There are different hotels that accepts crypto which include Silavadee Resort
Darker45 Costa Rica
Quote
I haven't been to Costa Rica, but I have encountered countless of times posts, pictures, videos, stories, articles, and whatnot about people's Bitcoin experiences in that beautiful country.

I've read about the Bitcoin Beach Project in El Zonte in El Salvador, the Bitcoin City, the Bitcoin Island in my tiny nation, but there's also a Bitcoin Jungle Project in Costa Rica. The effort has the same goal: to try to create a circular Bitcoin economy. It's mainly focused in the Golden Triangle area of Puntarenas Province, particularly in the areas of Uvita, Dominical, Tinamaste, Ojochal, and Platanillo.

Anyway, just in case nobody would post about this place here. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of all kinds of businesses in that country that accept Bitcoin payments. Are we unfortunate enough here on the forum to have never been graced.
Muba20 Rosewood Hong Kong
Quote
Rosewood Hong Kong, many may already know about this hotel, but I am telling you about this hotel here that it is one of the best hotels in Asia and if we compare it in the world, it can be placed in 2nd position. It is located near to Victoria Harbor. A big feature of this hotel is that both the sea and the skyline of the city can be seen from here. The hotel is usually visited by big celebrities and those who own a lot of wealth. Here, everything from Chinese to Western cuisine is available. I hope those who are thirsty for travel will enjoy their time very much if they stay at this hotel.
d5000 Venice, Italy
Quote

It doesn't need much introduction. Its unique location in a lagoon with several islands and canals makes it one of the preferred destinations for weddings (like seen last week by Bezos/Sánchez) and romantic couple holidays in the whole world. Bitcoin is accepted in at least three lodging options and three restaurants according to BTCmap. The location can be found here.

(It's the first place from my contributions to this thread I never went personally, but it's so well known -- just not for being a "Bitcoin destination" -- that it definitely should be mentioned here! And some of my family members and friends went there.)
d5000 Krakow, Poland
Quote
One of Central Eastern Europe's most beautiful and historic cities, Krakow has also some places to spend your Bitcoin: at least one place to lodge and some shops and eateries. The central area with a biq square and the famous underground bars are a must see. Another interesting place is the historic Kazimierz neighborhood, where some of the Bitcoin-accepting restaurants are located. In addition the Tatra mountainous range is quite close, and if you want to see the horrors humans are capable of and learn from it, you can visit Oswiecim, also known as Auschwitz. The BTCmap location is here. If you need fiat, there seem to be several Bitcoin ATMs in the city too.

I was almost about to include Warsaw also in this post, but the city has no accomodation I could find which accepts Bitcoin
Rgram Hancarri Nigeria ?
Quote
Location: Hancarri
Plot 7, Imperial Mall, Cartege Cinema House Okpanam Road, Asaba 320242, Asabaof Nigeria

Aside from being amongst the first innovators, this is also one way to put your business on the map and Hancarri.ng has got this in the bag. Spending Bitcoins directly would be a normal thing in the future but for now, people are more focused on accumulating and accepting Bitcoin directly in purchases is another means for the merchant to not just do business but accumulate as well.
D5000 Cusco, Peru
Quote
Also known as Cuzco, the city is both well known for its stunning baroque architecture and for its closeness to the Macchu Picchu ruins, the most famous pre-Columbian city in the Andes. Cuzco was both the capital of the Inca Empire and an important urban center in Colonial peru, so you'll find a lot of history in the city and its surroundings. Despite of having only about 400,000 inhabitants, Cuzco is very touristy, so it's not too surprising that Bitcoin is accepted in some places. I have found two accomodation options on BTCmap and a couple of eateries, fortunately most of them close together in the city center
Bitcoin_people Amsterdam Netherlands,
Quote
Currently, in almost some countries of the world, it is possible to pay for food or hotel bookings, including shopping, by paying through Bitcoin. However, I have seen that in Amsterdam, Netherlands, bitcoin embassy amsterdam, café kobalt can be paid through Bitcoin. Cafe Kobalt also has a Bitcoin ATM machine, so if you want, you can travel from here. With the beautiful environment here and everything, I think it is a great city and it is also very beautiful in terms of environment.

Johnlomape El Zonte, El Salvador
Quote
El Salvador was the country in the world to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender allowing citizens to make transactions in Bitcoin without taxation attached to it.
El Zonte has been one of my favored locations in El Salvador due to how beautiful it is including the wonderful beaches around making tourism to be cool and comfortable.

Quote
The government of Bhutan, a South Asian country surrounded by natural beauty, has launched a national crypto tourism payments platform in partnership with Binance Pay and DK Bank for tourists. So, there is an opportunity to pay in crypto when traveling to this country. I think this initiative by Bhutan will provide a lot more benefits to tourists from that country and will attract a lot of new interest in traveling there. This is a huge opportunity for crypto users.
HypnotizerBUCHAREST, ROMANIA
Quote
Bucharest, the capital city of Romania is another place in Europe that accepts bitcoin. I made a bit findings and find out that there are  a lot of bitcoin ATMs in the city of Bucharest and other Romanian cities. And they are as well some business in the city that accept Bitcoin payments.
Bucharest is a very vibrant city, it is also called the `Little Paris’ because of its architectures that looks like the French architectures. Bucharest can be a very perfect place for tourists who want to see beautiful French architectures without going to Paris and still spend bitcoin while they are on the trip.

This is a bar located in Tokyo, Japan. That place accepts payments in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It is a technology-themed bar where programming and hacking are taught and food is served through Bitcoin and crypto. Drinks and food are paid for at the event!
d5000 Essen & the Rhine / Ruhr area, Germany
Quote
Essen is the biggest city in Germany's only metropolitan area with over 10 million inhabitants, the once heavily industrialized Rhine-Ruhr area, but often is looked down upon as a "grey mouse". But it has one of the most interesting business venues in Germany: the Unperfekthaus with the Blockchain Hotel (website), mostly catering to Bitcoin and blockchain related events but also open for travellers. There is also at least one restaurant in the city accepting Bitcoin according to BTCmap.

Why should you travel there? Well, it's a bit of a "different" destination. The main attractions are historic industrial buildings. The Zeche Zollverein (UNESCO World Heritage Site), an enormous old coal mine with processing plant is now not only a museum but also a venue for high profile artistic events. And there are several smaller sites in the area where art is combined with the industrial heritage. But the region is also full of castles and has also a quite interesting nightlife. In the surroundings you find the city of Cologne with its world famous Cathedral and the Rhine Valley. There are several other accomodation and gastronomy options in the area accepting Bitcoin and you can get everywhere easily by public transport..

Now I'm seeing this I need to find places that accepts Bitcoin in my country due to the new tax law.
Do well to share when you discover any of such places. This new task law that starts taking effect today is going to be something else for us.

The only few places where I have used crypto to make payment are gadget shops, which offer such service. If we can have more of such places, it will be easy for us to limit the amount of fiat we fund our local account with.
