Another interesting fact is that in Germany you have gift cards from several supermarket chains you can re-fill directly with Bitcoin.
I have checked Bali at BTCmap and there is at least one accomodation and several food businesses listed. So the entry of Bali here is OK. Maybe they circunvent the "payment prohibition" by simply declaring the transfer a barter. Normally everybody is free to exchange any (non-illegal) good for another good, and if one of these goods happens to be Bitcoin ...

The effort has the same goal: to try to create a circular Bitcoin economy. It's mainly focused in the Golden Triangle area of Puntarenas Province, particularly in the areas of Uvita, Dominical, Tinamaste, Ojochal, and Platanillo.
Anyway, just in case nobody would post about this place here. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of all kinds of businesses in that country that accept Bitcoin payments. Are we unfortunate enough here on the forum to have never been graced. |
