This may sound like a stupid question, but is it possible children will buy stuff using crypto in the future? I mean, today's generation is "digitally-native". Long gone are the days where kids used to pay for stuff with cash. In this era, digital payments are the norm. Since non-custodial crypto doesn't require KYC checks of any kind, any kid can set up a wallet, receive crypto, and start spending wherever it's accepted physically or online.

Future yes there is every possibility for that to happen, gaming industry is transforming and alot of pay to play game's accepting Fiat will definitely start accepting crypto in the future and that time, kids who's parents are knowledge about cryptocurrency and thought them can offer to use coins to play those computer games instead Fiat.

Most children nowadays are highly exposed to modern technology. Even if they don’t fully understand how everything works yet, they adopt these habits early because they constantly see the adults around them using these devices.

It’s not surprising for a child to experience this regardless of time or place because we are living in the internet generation. Children today explore differently; they are incredibly fast learners once they take an interest in something.

The amazing thing globally is that kids of this era are vastly surrounded by technologies, so they just pick up some wonderful digital habits with ease, and as things are evolving in crypto they will likely see it as a means to make their life less stressful becuase so many things are being done to make Cypto as simple as possible and kids love comfort so they will sure adapt to something that will make life sweet for them. The only downside will be at the end of things, for instance, a lot of digital businesses have strict rules against children under 18 and how well will the parents have that time to monitor what they spend their crypto funds on. But there is every possibility that the next coming generation will see crypto as a very normal payment gateway like we see with several currency wallets today.

Thats not a stupid question at all.  The digital world is becoming a part of daily life for kids as they already use many forms of digital currency such as Robux and V-Bucks, so it is logical to think that the transition to using cryptocurrency will be sooner rather than later.  Children might also receive a “digital allowance” from their parents to a non-custodial wallet, which is available to anyone regardless of age, and may earn crypto as small amounts online and be able to make purchases with those funds without the need of a bank account.  While it is unlikely kids will be making purchases with Bitcoin for at least the next couple of years, it is certain that they will have significantly more access to using digital tokens (or perhaps digital dollars) for purchasing products online and from gaming sites than we did.

Many kids are already good with tech and are capable of using crypto. The main problem for them is acquiring it. The people in their family who give them money might be older and not understand it very well. Another problem is security. Kids might not have the experience to understand when something they are downloading online might contain malware.

Eventually we will get to a point where parents who have lived with crypto most of their lives will be teaching their kids all about how to use it and custody it safely. I saw recently that Binance launched investment accounts for kids. That might be a good starting point for kids too young to manage their own keys, as long as it is not teaching them to buy memecoins.

Children may be more tech savvy than many adults. But it can be confusing to know how to properly manage funds or the importance of assets. Children are not ready to make the right decisions because they are immature. They may not know the true value of money, but they should be given a boundary to learn. They should be made aware of and informed about online downloads to increase their caution when using crypto.

You need to be careful about setting age-based boundaries when giving children access to local exchanges because if they are over 12 years old, it may be a safe age for them to access and if they are 15-18 years old, it is time to give them access and responsibility for maintaining funds.

Unfortunately kids in my place still lack of knowledge about crypto even not knowing that Bitcoin exist. I won't force them to learn about crypto or blockchain because I believe someday they will know what is crypto and the tech behind it, no need to hurry for them to know because crypto always adapt to the world. Another fact is that in the future, kids now will be more mature and they will understand crypto more and what is its use cases. If they aged enough, they will also know how to earn their own money and not rely on their parents anymore.

You even said that today's generation is more on digital now, so there is a good chance that some games now supports cryptos too. Kids are notoriously known to use their parents' accounts, so a non-custodial crypto wallet doesn't really matter. And with their young age, I don't think they will know how to navigate it. But for the genius one, that is a good promotion for them. So we can only hope many companies are going to do the same thing of supporting crypto as one of their payment methods.

This is a reality that will become a reality in the near future. I don't think we are far from it, to see the children of nowadays buy the things they want with crypto.

This has been thought about and believed in, to come to fulfillment as the world is advancing in the digital era, and the children we have are not left out in learning and adopting the digital era into their normal way of life as they grow and explore new ideas.

The world has become so advanced that nothing is out of the reach of these children these days and it only makes sense for them to actually explore in these fields one way or the other. The world is getting and moving to a stage where no one will be limited to any current or new information as everything will be digitalized and even the children will be having access and making use of these advancement. So buying things with crypto is one of them.

kids who are born in the year 2009 until today will eventually use bitcoin or crypto, because lets admit it young people want's to explore lots of things, and with it comes to crypto its easy, they don't need to bring money just simple scan, and they will be able to pay fast, at the same time, kids of today is tech savvy and they will know about crypto, in-fact they are more techy than the old ones, they have the technology and its for them to use to what ever they want, hoping that they will be able also to learn the technology not just use it.

It's still dangerous for children to use crypto as payment, as for me, there are many bad people or adults who can take advantage of them once they know that there is an asset hidden in crypto. If the adults are already being fooled, how much more for the younger ones, they are even easier to fool because they are not yet very knowledgeable about crypto and how to make it more secure. Unless their parents put in a small amount just so they can learn about it and how to use it more wisely, but for me, this is still not advisable. Even online payments for children seem difficult to trust, especially since we're using real money here.

Why not? It could be integrated into banks or separate, but we can already say that most crypto wallet applications will issue cards in the future. This way, people can give their children this card and let them shop with it, or the child can shop with the budget allocated to them. It seems like we still have a few years to go, but the number of cards that allow cryptocurrency payments is increasing. In about 3-4 years, we will see them more widely available everywhere.

If the entire world switches to cryptocurrencies, as is likely to happen in the future, central banks will certainly not reserve cash "for children's use only". This means that children will also be forced to use cryptocurrencies (I assume these will be CBDC). Children's wallets will likely be verified from the start (KYC), meaning central banks will know who is using a particular wallet, meaning children's wallets will have purchase restrictions (for example, on cigarettes, alcohol, and the like).

Your vision of a "future world" where children create their own crypto wallets (for example, with bitcoin), top them up, and use them however they choose seems unlikely.

Kids should not be forced to learn about Bitcoin because it is something they will get to learn later if they are not interested right away to know more about cryptocurrency. Since the world is shifting from the fiat era to cryptocurrency, it will not take much time for this to work and circulate throughout the world even if their are people that will choose not to accept Bitcoin, they will finally accept when they will have no choice about what they have to do to secure a better life. There are countries that are currently helping their citizens to learn about Bitcoin and blockchain and this is the beginning of the era change.

I don't see this as a great advantage for kids in the under-age. The cryptocurrency will be beneficial for kids who are curious to behave like adults but we shouldn't forget that this will open the door to children accessing different kind of online stores who accept crypto payments. Some illegal stuff is already available for crypto, not just gaming items.
Also the most important point about security. Kids can use cryptocurrencies to buy stuff doesn't mean they are able to secure their holdings in the right way.

I think kids shouldn't be allowed to use cryptocurrencies without monitoring whatever the stuff they aim to buy. This is dangerous as much as leaving them alone in a harsh market.

We cannot be sad about them because the time will come also for them when they'll be piqued by their interest through crypto. Right now, they go along with their youth and that's very normal to see them don't have interest at all. But if some of their parents are giving them the hints and they're investing into it, they might also get their interest through that as a hobby taught by their parents.

Where are kids going to get crypto from? They don't work, so how could they earn? Unless their parents give them money, I don't see another way, or are we heading into a time where people will be able to make an income by playing videogames without having to be top players on determined games?

They will naturally use crypto once they realize that crypto is cheaper compared to debit cards or any alternative out there and the fact that there is so many thing they can do on the blockchain.

I mean, I've seen a lot of gen z trading memes these days, that's a good indicator that younger generation are actually interested in crypto, though I hope they don't waste their money on meme coins .

Why will kids realize crypto is cheaper than debit cards? Aren't they supposed to be 18 to be able to use a card? I'm talking about kids that are younger than 18. Like those in Elementary School or Middle School. They can use crypto to pay for things the same way they do with cash. I mean, this generation is digitally-native. So kids these days shouldn't have a problem setting up a non-custodial wallet to send/receive crypto along the way.

As to how kids will acquire crypto, that's the "million-dollar" question. My guess is that they will acquire crypto through P2E (Play to Earn) games or buy it through a non-KYC P2P trading platform. F2F (Face to Face) trading would be also an option. To be able to use centralized exchanges, however, they need to be at least 18 years of age (AFAIK). With wallets focusing on user-friendliness, kids won't need to be tech-savvy to get started with crypto. I'm sure they will make an integral part of the industry in the future. Just you wait and see.
