If you watched the video, you would realize that it still consumes energy because it is not magic. It may have some minor practical applications, but I do not expect for anyone's car to run on it any time soon. Perhaps we should focus on something better like reversible computation instead of taking engines that work and replacing them with engines that do not work very well.

Of course it uses energy. Why do we not use steam power? - actually, gasoline and diesel engines are steam engines. Because burning wood in a car is not easy. Gasoline is much easier. So, let's make this new engine practical, because it is far more efficient than gasoline. And electric cars are dangerous because of the electricity waves that propagate from them.
