It's possible to see this from several perspectives. For some people, online gaming has simply become another way to escape stress because of its ease and the ability to do it alone. For others, the social aspect still weighs more heavily and hasn't been replaced. I think it depends a lot on the moment, the person, and how they deal with daily pressure.  

So, it's better to say that there's an equilibrium in this argument, most people are gambling online now on their own, they are no more asking or seeking for social drinking, while there are also so many people that still likes to go out with their colleagues and friends for social drinking. The numbers could even be higher for those that wants social drinking than people that stays indoors to gamble and have fun on their own.

Gambling and drinking are even very different from each other. I gamble but I also like to go out during weekends and have fun with some friends and we are definitely going to drink and enjoy the moment. Drinking and gambling are not even competitors, anyone that likes both will get involved in both.

Yes, I myself sometimes do the same thing as you, going out on the weekends to have fun, whether it's while drinking or not, but what is clear is that I like to do it especially with the environment like nature.

I remember back then, me and my office mates will have this Friday night out after a week of working and we all know that there are stress in our work specially if you work on corporate world. It's high paced, there's no time to take a break and jobs keeps piling up. And so after a tiring week me and my mates will go have fun and drink until the wee hours of the morning.

But with the advent of online gambling, I don't think that we can get back to socialized with your friends and meet others in the bar because I'm seeing that online gambling is now the modern way to cope with pressure at work and in life in general? You just go and play and isolate yourself in your bedroom until you lose your money?

Since this got you thinking, have you considered going to bars around your street or city to see if they are empty? Because bars never run dried over here, do you also know that many drinkers are not into gambling? Many of them are hardworking people who cares only about their paycheck and also social drinking.

Some of these people sees gamblers are lost souls who will never find their way back, they hate gambling with passion, I know many older men who thinks this way, the believe that gambling will keep you trap in mismanagement of money and your life, they don't want anything to do with it.

I agree with what you said about this cause it's a situation of different strokes for different folks but what will trigger everyone's stress outlet is if the person is introverted or extroverted.
People who like to stay indoors will find online gambling as a stress outlet while the person that likes outdoor activities can easily see drinking with friends, playing games, gambling, or participate in all the activities as a stress outlet.
What I believe is important is to put a moderation in whatever it's we see as a means to let go of stress cause excess of things always lead to malfunction or irresponsibility.

Online gambling has nothing to do with it. People still hang out in social places. The fact that you and your mate don't do it anymore doesn't mean others don't.
Different things could be the reason people don't hang out anymore. It could be because they fell out, or it got boring. It could only be because the tradition died a natural death, or one person moved away. It could be a whole lot of reasons before you even think about online gambling because I hardly hear people say "I don't want to hang out because I want to gamble on my phone".

I know people use gambling as a way to blow off steam, but it's not the same as hanging out. It's a different thing if the person is originally an introvert and doesn't like hanging out, but someone who likes it will definitely still hang out with friends despite being an online gambler.

I don't see it that way, except for those who have totally carried away by gambling addiction, that they need to be gambling all the time to satisfy their deep urge for gambling. But usually those who have fallen into gambling addiction are mostly heavy drinkers as well, so maybe they will still balance both not to miss chances from any of them.

Neither have I replace it too, I don't even agree that many people have replaced it because so many people likes drinking and going out with friends to do that. I'm not even considering my friends gathering than to isolate and start gambling meanwhile the fun achieved while drinking with friends is not even the same with that of gambling. Both fun moments are different and feels different ways.

Gambling is more of a game with illusions than real communication or an attempt to solve one's problems. After all, gambling only promises the gambler that they will earn a lot of money and can fulfill all their desires, such as never working again, meeting with friends for socializing, and even giving all their friends apartments and cars and living a happy life with close social contacts. But in reality, only one in a million gamblers achieves this.
Gambling, on the other hand, is more of a way to lose money and waste personal time, and of course, it's not as fun as spending time with friends.

The only barrier of me not socializing with my friends like we normally do in the years back is because everyone is now engaged in one job or another just to make ends meet. Don't gamble if our purpose is to relieve our stress, because it only adds more. You'd rather be drinking and surely enjoy the moment with friends.

For me I don’t think it has, because where I live in most of the sport viewing centers and sport gambling centers, they equally gambling, drink and argue regularly.
Even those who just go there to gambling and watch match’s only, sometimes end up drinking as well. I just feel everybody has a way of reducing stress from themself though..

If you are just using your extra money and you have no financial problem, I believe you can still make gambling a fun and an entertaining one. But if you happen to have very limited money and you still gamble despite of your financial difficulties, I don't think you can have fun in gambling.

Actually I don't think that drinking or gambling is the only way to relieve stress because we have many other sources of entertainment that release our happy hormone dopamine and keep us stress free. This can be hanging out with family or watching a movie or series or going for a walk etc.
Nowadays, the modern era says that we should always be locked inside our mobile or computer and play the role of our entertainment sources, but this is not the case because the more we are home-centered, the more diseases will want to settle in our body.

Online gambling haven't replaced going out to have a couple of drinks with friends and in fact I think it has even increased it because I gamble only online and I go out with friends to watch the game while sharing drinks with them because my friends and I like sports betting the most so it's more of a good way for us to meet up at the bar and watch the game, as a matter of fact I don't think online gambling is now the modern way to cope with pressure from work because for some people it increases the pressure after work and for some it is a therapy to calm yourself from stress after work but for me i still go out with friends to relax.

It’s definitely better to enjoy a drink in a natural setting. In my opinion, drinking while gambling in physical casinos is a bad habit to develop. There's a high chance of over-drinking, especially when you're on a losing streak.

It is not the casino platform's fault that you are stressed when you lose money, but it is your own fault that you do not gamble within your means to lose it. There is always something good to learn from it, but most gamblers are those who are trying to make money from it.
