I am a bit confused and surprised at the same time because I can't remember when gambling is highly talked off in any society.

In my locality, due to how gambling has made some people wretched and broke , added with addiction of some  guys, you will never see any reputable person in the society speaks highly of gambling, so that's why i am surprised that op is asking a weird question like why are people not talking good about gambling.
The only sets of people that will always talks good about gambling are gamblers, apart from them, I don't see anyone speaking good of it

It is definitely because of the people who come with the wrong intentions and goals such as coming to make money or making gambling a place to solve financial problems and it is certain that most of the time the results will be negative, meaning that they will instead lose a lot of money instead of making money as expected,.

So the bad stigma that comes out of the mouths of gamblers is usually because those who cannot accept the reality of losing or those who are irresponsible, for me gambling also does help me to relieve boredom in my free time and so far I have never had any negative assumptions, meaning that the negative stigma is only owned by gamblers who treat gambling in the wrong way.

Nothing has changed. Gambling is gambling and will always be, but people change. Some people expected too much, or maybe something impossible, and now they are disappointed.... Some of them probably emotionally & financially ruined. When you expect too much, it's no longer a game... It's just pressure, and things break under pressure.

As I wrote many times, it's all fun & games as long as you play with money you can afford to lose. As long as you play because you love to play, not because you expect to win... "Keep it play — or it will play you."

gambling get negative argument from people because of the possibility bring people to the bad financial conditions when they are unable to control. People talking about the bad habit about gamble because they are only seeing from negative way. Same as people seeing a game as a bad habit for a kid, but they don't say anything when a gamers can get a lot of money from playing game. While in gambling, people know mostly gambler get bankrupt or ended with loss a lot of money. so this can makes a gambling activity looks really bad.

In my country, celebrities are advertising them and that's why it varies per culture and countries. But it should be like yours although I understand that there's a big contribution of gambling in the society or mainly to the government for the tax that they're paying. And at the same time, they're allocating it to the charities and so, if there's a main source of it then that's gambling. Yet, it's never talked about with that because most people only see the help and not the source of it. These days? People have been talking crap about gambling for centuries, this is nothing new and I wonder what you've been reading your whole life. Gambling has a bad rep quite simply because people think that they are smarter than the casinos and don't like it when they end up being fools that lose their money. It is the same story since the beginning of humanity. That's how people are typically, when they are winning they don't say anything bad about gambling but the moment losses starts coming on they automatically change what they say about gambling. We are always going to experience the good and bad days when it comes to gambling but it is important to always focus more on gambling responsibly and enjoying the game than thinking of making profit from it

Thanks to advertising, people mistakenly think that gambling can solve their financial problems. Therefore, when they lose their money, they believe that they have been deceived and transfer all the negativity from the game to others, without realizing that they are to blame for this.

In part, I think the game hasn't stopped being fun. What really changed was the expectation of many people, who started seeing it as a way to make money. When that doesn't happen, frustration and a negative view arise. In the end, the real problem isn't the game itself, but how it's perceived.

I do not think Gambling has ever been 'the best way' of cooling off your head like you say.  In fact, for a LOT of people I believe it was the exact opposite of that.  It is only fun as long as you are in control.  But because a lot of people lose control extremely fast, instead of relaxing and having fun you get to swear in rage at the screen, at the dice or what ever it is that you are Gambling.

It is still fun.  There has been a lot of focus on anti Gambling campaigns recently however and while I do hear a lot more often that Gambling is bad, it never looked to me like there are less people doing it, that the industry is slowing down at all or that less people are throwing their own life savings in the stakes.  To me, things feel the same way.
