If you have a near miss large loss either because you got other smaller win to add up to a total lost that would have been very disastrous, it doesn't mean that you are winning at the end of the day. By the time you accumulate the losses and the lucky winnings, you will see that averagely you will still be in loss.

The only difference is that at the point you saved yourself from a big loss, you will be happy with that. However, if I keep having such experience, I will take some break and also reduce my losses.

Although i set a budget for my gambling and try to stick to it, there are certain days that I am consistently loosing and when I win to a little extent, even if it I am still at a net loss for the day, I'm grateful that I didn't end the day in a total loss. it is normal because loosing thoroughly can make you a bit sad even though you are not running into a financial problem.

Gambling is not bad, Playing for fun depends on the amount you are loosing. If you are loosing great amounts that harms your finances, then you cannot be said to be having fun gambling. If you have a budget, them it is possible you would play for fun for longer, but I must be frank,  the real fun always comes when you are winning.

That's what you need to be clear about from the outset. Of course you're not going to win overall. The best way to think about it is as if you were going to the theatre or the cinema. There was a point in my life that I was gambling non-stop to the point that it affected my monthly savings as a student. I would even explore ways of earning income just to gamble. After some realization, I have come to reflect that gambling with profit in mind is just not that effective in the long-run. Even if let's say you win $200 this week, who knows if you could sustain that amount after the next week of gambling.

This is why I never put high amounts in all my bets, because I am afraid the fun will be gone once I lose it. It will change with frustration and stress, which will make us either quit gambling or be too eager to chase the losses.

A small amount is easy to deal with and move on when it loses. If it wins, there's still that bit of happiness that you somehow made a good prediction of the game. I think it's safe to say that gambling is bad as many peoples lives have been destroyed by gambling. Personally I'm at loss too and I think most of us is, but my main goal actually is not to win my back my losses but rather have some fun placing bets while watching the live matches especially in esports where I mostly bet nowadays. Sometimes we just have to gamble and keep playing even if we are not winning because it's what men do. At times this is what keeps me in the game when I get to that point were I begin to question myself what's the essence of all this gambling when we know that the casino will always be on the winning side on the long run. Well, personally, learnt to believe that there are two types of winning in gambling, first winning being the most important but not so popular, and also not regarded by majority of people who gamble, and this winning is "Having fun", if you are gambling and really enjoying the game not minding the loses you encounter, then you are winning though not in money.

And the second winning which is the money winning, it's popular, it's basically what every gambler out there wants but unfortunately, this is the hardest type of gambling winning and even though it's not the most important, we attach so much importance to it to the extent it's what drives most gamblers.

When I make a sports bet on impulse, without analyzing the risks or planning it properly, and I lose because I was stupid.

Or when I bet more than I should, even after planning a lot, but due to a stroke of bad luck I end up losing and have to leave the game earlier than planned because I've wiped out my bankroll, that is also very frustrating.

Apart from that, I am happy with the game and I do not mind losing... I always bet thinking about the worst case scenario, I play to have fun. Gambling isn't inherently bad, as long as we consider it for fun, and it is different for gamblers who view gambling solely for profit. Personally, I think we need to cultivate the mindset that gambling is simply entertainment, and consider winnings as additional entertainment. With this mindset, we can stay on the right track while gambling, without the risk of addiction, or falling into a deep hole (loss). Furthermore, there is a perception that gambling is simply a ticket to entertainment, meaning the tickets we buy are meant to be used for entertainment, and the owners of the entertainment venues will profit regardless. By the way, I am not entirely sure how casinos make their money; as far as I know, they only take a percentage of each user bet, right?

Because of this, I don't even have time to think about things like "I've been here too long", I usually win or lose quickly, within minutes... but the casino always has the advantage, after all, it's a business and needs to make a profit.
