Na why I always dey talk say the basic knowledge na the important thing.. Security nor be one separate course wey person go later learn, e dey inside the basics.. Once you understand the fundamentals, you go know how to protect yourself from common mistakes. Person nor need become security expert before investing, but skipping the basics completely na where the real problem dey start.
You don't even need what you call basic knowledge what you need to your discretionary income and how to buy bitcoin. The moment, you have started your bitcoin investment, you can learn what you think is basic and any other topic of your interest about bitcoin but the most important thing is get started provided your discretionary income is available. Since, it's a long-term investment journey, you have all the time and flexibility to learn and improve your knowledge and confidence in bitcoin. Common sense can help you figure out your discretionary income and how much will be convenient for you to buy bitcoin with. Bitcoin security is not important before getting started and I don't see it as a most before getting started because it can be complicated for a brand new investor and that will delay him from starting as he waste his precious time on what wouldn't help him grow his bitcoin portfolio. I started my bitcoin investment without any wallet because I was keeping my funds in Binance but as time goes on, I read more about wallets and differences between self custody which made me chose a good noncustodial wallet of my choice. I introduced my friend to bitcoin and he has zero knowledge about bitcoin talk more of security but now he has a good stash of bitcoin and has gotten a good wallet for himself too. Wasting time in delaying your bitcoin investment to kick start will deprive you from accumulating a good size of bitcoin in future. Bitcoin investment is practical likewise, the security too. If you don't have any bitcoin how will you learn about wallet security in the best way.

Your friend became very greedy after withdrawing his profits several times and that is why he repeatedly observes the market to withdraw his profits. He basically started trading like that which is why he was losing time and again due to his little experience. Your friend did not have much experience which is why he always made wrong decisions and despite your repeated warnings, he misunderstood you. However, he may have realized it after making losses. However, such losses are necessary in life because without such losses, experience cannot be gained.
There are some beginners who don't have sufficient knowledge and experience about Bitcoin investment yet they did the right thing by not monitoring the market and selling prematurely. So it means that it is not necessary to aquire deep knowledge or wait till you have sufficient experience before starting Bitcoin investment, the basic things that you need is discretionary funds and where to buy from. Bitcoin knowledge is very vast and after you start you can begin to explore more knowledge about the network and market. Some folks would wait to learn from their own experiences before understanding that Bitcoin investment is different from trading while the smarter newbies would learn from experienced investors or research to avoid making mistakes.

Investment becomes gambling when you stop making decisions based on research and long-term value, and instead rely mainly on luck, speculation, or trying to make quick profits. Inshort: Investment: Informed decisions, lower risk, long-term growth. Gambling: Uncertain outcomes, higher risk, driven mostly by chance or speculation. A simple way to remember it is: When you're relying more on luck than analysis, investing starts to become gambling.during investing invest big and earn a huge amount
Almost everything in your writing seems correct but in the last line of the paragraph you are probably confused because you mentioned large sums of money when investing. As soon as you become active in investing large sums of money, you will tend to invest most of your funds, giving less importance to real financial matters. If this situation continues regularly, which will gradually lead to aggressive investment, you will eventually get caught up and may actually become poor and may have to withdraw your investment midway. Then you may be forced to sell at a loss. Long term investment plans can be hampered due to ill-considered planning and this is also a kind of gambling.

Your emphasis on these points makes me think that you probably feel that for the fact that a person is a newbie that his brain is in the state of "Tabula rasa" because that's the only time these things you mentioned becomes a priority to buying bitcoin. For a beginner who has been using the internet, he must have been hearing about bitcoin and must have known that it is digital currency, knowing that bitcoin is a digital currency also implies that such a person must have known that a wallet is involved. So why waste all his times studying them one after the other? What exactly does he want to learn about "what is bitcoin" or does he has to be spoon-fed until eternity?
As a newbie who wants to go into bitcoin, the most important is making up your mind to go for a long-term investment because that's the easier path to bitcoin investment. Then the next thing is to figure out his Discretionary income and choose a wallet and he is good to go, no more time to waste order than invest. The mistake that beginners make is in trying to understand volatility and that is the major aspect that folks have to tell themselves the truth. Many people procrastinates unendingly believing they're getting to know bitcoin better whereas in the real sense, they're trying to understand volatility which is not completely possible.
When you said understanding the risk involved, I think it points more in the direction of a beginner wanting to venture into bitcoin trading which has a high level risk. Long-term investment is a better way or starting because the risk is very minimal even though nothing is promised but in the long term, there's a proven high chances of making profit instead of playing around trying to gamble with bitcoin.
I like to think that certain habit and behavior can be very well learnt and then corrected while folks are in the process of their investments.. So one must not have to kickstart their investments journey with complete perfection.. Like in the case of a long time mindset, folks can better understand while in the process of their investments that it is very wrong to approach Bitcoin with a short term mindset... And as they go, they can make the necessary corrections to their investment habits..

Wether with much experience or not, a trader will always lose money repeatedly because that's how trading works. Very risky and full of losses. He might have been happy when he made some sales and got some profits accordingly to you, but the main point still remains that a trader will always lose money no matter your level of experience in trading or how long you have been involved in it. That's why the point here has always been that guys get away from trading and focus on Bitcoin accumulation and/or investment since it have proven a store of value for years of existence. Investments have been better than trading. There is no comparison

Investments have been better than trading. There is no comparison I agree with you. Many people think that if you have many years of experience you will never lose in trading. But the reality is that when the market shows its ruthlessness even the world's biggest and most experienced traders get liquidated. You may win 9 times in trading but just 1 wrong decision can wipe out all your previous 9 profits and your original capital. This is the rule of this game. Saying goodbye to trading and holding Bitcoin is the best decision. Trading means staring at the screen for 24 hours heartbeat fluctuations and extreme mental stress. On the other hand if you invest in Bitcoin you can sleep peacefully. Because you know that no matter what happens in the short-term, Bitcoin is the best store of value in the long term. People waste valuable time of their lives while trading. However, if that time can be spent on expanding your main career or income source and regular Bitcoin DCA can be done with that additional income, the portfolio will be much stronger in the long-term. It is much easier and safer to get rich by storing Bitcoin than to lose it by trading it.

However no matter how good anyone is at managing trading risk, it's still not compared to investing in Bitcoin, Bitcoin investment is more reliable if someone can be patient and focused on accumulation than bothering about that current performance of the market, long term holders have never been disappointed for holding longer.

No no no! It's a no for trading. It's best you do Bitcoin investment rather than trade. Bitcoin investment is the best, especially long term plan, let's say 4-10years or above. If you are able to discover your Discretionary income (money left or remaining after you have settled your basic needs), then you can begin your Bitcoin accumulation journey. As a newbie, it's best you accumulate Bitcoin using the DCA strategy. This strategy allows you to buy Bitcoin in little fractions as you can afford. This is so important so that you don't put pressure on yourself in trying to buy in big amounts or meet up with others who have been in the market for long. Also note that you can as well increase your buying amount anytime it seems more comfortable for you to do so after building confidence and understanding how best to allocate your income. Though Bitcoin investment is also risky and does not have a guarantee time of making more profits for the investor, but if we can HODL for a long term, there is possibility of increase or appreciation of value since it gets to an all time high value sometimes. This is different with trading, because it's all risky all day and although. Going for short time gains in trading is really bad because you could also lose everything within a second. So, it's best you invest in Bitcoin and HODL for long term

It's advisable that you stay away from trading and focus on Bitcoin investment, yea! Investing with a target of long term plan, not just short time and going about looking for immediate profit which is also trading and/or gambling with your investments.. If you can know what your discretionary income is, then you can buy Bitcoin in small fragments, and gradually, you can build up your investment while aiming the long term goals. Am sure that wille you are already investing, you will learn how to manage your income properly and also give the right portion to your portfolio to avoid too low/high investment funding. Since Bitcoin is always fluctuating, it is good that you buy Bitcoin and HODL it with a long term investment plan, instead of going for short time gains which really profits nothing if not for continual loses almost every time. Bitcoin investment is far better than trading, and it's advisable you invest and don't trade.

Trading requires market speculations so profiting from it is tough cause of how volatile the market is, although an experienced trader would know how to manage risk and avoid too much loses compared to someone that lacks experience to an extent for instance you can't compare a trader that's good at reading charts and know how to set stop loss and take profits to someone that can't properly do that.
However no matter how good anyone is at managing trading risk, it's still not compared to investing in Bitcoin, Bitcoin investment is more reliable if someone can be patient and focused on accumulation than bothering about that current performance of the market, long term holders have never been disappointed for holding longer.
There is nothing no such thing as "experienced trader" who can consistently stay ahead of the market. I see you’re already misleading some newbies when I scrolled down. There’s nothing good about trading that’s why i don’t like mentioning it; the focus should only be on only long term Bitcoin investment To new investors reading that may need little guidance; long term accumulation is different because it doesn't rely upon guessing the market at all. Patience and consistent accumulation has rewarded many discipline investors far more than those trying to outsmart the market through frequent trading. Instead spending years trying to become a better trader, why not spend those years accumulating Bitcoin steady? It’s easier for even average earner to stick with over time

We discuss long-term investment in this topic and this is our local board, all the people in our country who are with this forum are very active and new people in this place. In this topic, we all discuss long-term investment and so it is better not to put someone in the middle of risk by asking them to trade or pushing them towards trading. In trading, the possibility of a person losing money is much higher but if we talk about long-term investment then we will see that the risk is much less than short-term investment. It takes a lot of time to learn trading and a person and a person does not need much to invest and if he has a source of discretion and if he has common sense then he can start investing.

There is no comparison The fact that someone is experienced in trading doesn't mean that they won't lose money. Even those that claimed to be experienced or skilled traders still end up losing money. So trading is very risky and being experienced in trading doesn't mean that the person doesn't stand the chance of losing money. There is no one, no matter how experience the person maybe can be able to predict the price of bitcoin correctly at all times. You are right, no matter how experience a trader is they will always lose money.

Risk management is indeed a very crucial aspect when it comes to investment. This does not mean that there is no difference between various kinds of risks. The worst thing that an investor could do is borrow money and put it at risk. In my opinion, the best strategy would be to invest only what you are comfortable with losing and keep calm.

Trading has always been a very risky game, and as such, i wouldn't advice anyone to get involve in trading. even though there are people who are profiting from it but that doesn't mean if we get ourselves involved in trading that we would surely profit like those early traders, it doesn't work that way. It is just like when We see people making profit from gambling, at first you will think wining from gambling is just as simple as that not until you get involve in it, then you will see how difficult it was to make profit from it. at the same time, you will find out how risky gambling can be. that's exactly what is happening to some people in this crypto space, so it's high time we know the danger that is associated with trading and focus on Long term investment. there, you will have peace of mind.
