it won't be a bad idea to be using $5 to accumulate bitcoin on weekly basis using DCA strategy. The most important thing is being consistent using DCA strategy and then we can be able to build up a good portfolio bitcoin. However, if the platform we are using not accumulate the bitcoin is charging fees, it will be best to save the money for some weeks like 2-3 weeks or more before buying to avoid being charged each time we buy bitcoin.

I don't think this is a nice idea. Don't you think that waiting and saving up the money for 2-3-4 or even 5 weeks you suggested above would be a waste of time and delay. Who knows what will be the price of Bitcoin within these weeks of waiting, of course you know that Bitcoin is always fluctuating. The charges are not something that should be a problem. It's investment and your focus should be on accumulating and building, it sure will cost you some little things.

We can't predict and/ or determine live situations or emergencies, and so, you may not know when some situations might show up and you may use the money that you are saving and end up not having anyone to invest completely. Pausing your weekly DCA buys for few weeks because you want to avoid or escape charges, and then buy later isn't a good one for me, after all, when you still want to buy after your savings, wouldn't you still pay the charges?  It's best that if we have our discretionary, we just buy and keep it safe immediately rather than wait for some weeks.

if you invest with a discretionary income even though you lose it will not affect you and that is why we are advising people to invest with the word they can afford to lose so that if then lose it will not affect them not to continue whatever thing they want to do or what they are doing, but some people likely invest what they can't afford to lose and immediately the investment goes against them they will began to feel regret of investing in Bitcoin, most of the investors does not know that the Investment have a target and you must be invest at the key target before you can make a profit that you are anticipating to have
It's not just about investing with your discretionary income but investing with a part of your discretionary income that you can afford to lose because the truth is that just because it's our discretionary income doesn't mean we can afford to lose all of it and that's why even when people want to be aggressive in buying bitcoin they should make sure to not buy with more than they can afford, even if you already have your backup funds set up you will still have to pay for your discretionary consumptions and you won't be able to pay for those if you end up investing in bitcoin with all of your discretionary income.
Always know that your discretionary income pays for more than your bitcoin investment so make sure to invest with what you can tolerate.

You are right that every investor should invest within their financial capacity. Set aside a large portion of their entire discretionary income for Bitcoin. If you want to be in Bitcoin for the long term, you need to focus on building an emergency fund.

Many investors want to be aggressive in buying Bitcoin or some take out loans to hold Bitcoin. Especially during periods of price decline. Never make wrong decisions on impulse and do not allocate money beyond your means to investments. If you want to buy Bitcoin aggressively, do it with additional cash funds.

Even if your discretionary income is low, believe in yourself and try to create multiple sources of income and buy Bitcoin regularly to your capacity.

Or simply convert from one asset to the other, you can cut down on how much you need to pay for charges if you don't buy bitcoin directly, instead you could buy USDT and then convert that to bitcoin, there is little to no change attached to buying that depending on where you are buying from and converting to bitcoin can cost little to nothing depending on what platform you are also converting from, moving between wallets might be where the charge problem will come up again but then you can just employ the holding for 2 or 3 or more buys before moving your bitcoin to a wallet of choice, this way you don't have to delay buying bitcoin for any reason that isn't worth it.

You're mixing knowledge needed to start with the knowledge people gain over time

The first basic knowledge a newbie needs is understanding their own financial situation to know whether they have discretionary income to invest with. Without that, they shouldn't be investing at all. Once they figured that out, they can start accumulating BTC. Those things you mentioned are important, but they're part of the learning process. Understanding Bitcoin is a broad journey…even experienced Bitcoin investors are still learning

Therefore, it is always surprising to hear about those guys who have been familiar with the topic of bitcoin for a very long time, but at the same time they are still trying to get the maximum result by trading bitcoin in attempts to guess the bottom and guess where the ATH will be. But at the same time, they make mistakes and regret, they blame themselves for not looking at something on the chart, although they could just use DCA investing and not spend a lot of effort to predict the future course of the bitcoin price. But they just could, with a little time, buy bitcoin in shares and the result would impress them. That is why we will hear a lot of news more than once that newcomers who have realized the meaning of DCA will overtake in their accumulation those who have long sought to accumulate Bitcoin but do so through trading.

You are right that every investor should invest within their financial capacity. Set aside a large portion of their entire discretionary income for Bitcoin. If you want to be in Bitcoin for the long term, you need to focus on building an emergency fund.

The percentage of discretionary income that an investor decides to set aside for investing in bitcoin depends on their financial situation. So setting aside a large portion of discretionary income for buying bitcoin may not go well with all investors. Aside buying of bitcoin, an investor needs to set up an emergency funds because investing a big percentage of discretionary income maybe consider  quite a bit aggressive. The  main focus should be on consistent buying even with a smaller amount and not being over aggressive, at the long run our bitcoin holdings would have been in good shape.

[edited out]
I agree with your point on this, I love seeing some guys using thier common senses towards Bitcoin investment ideas, by keep some part of thier earning aside before investing, there's no cause for alarm when starting with small amounts no matter how little it is. That's shows that the newbies knows what his doing, he has think beyond today and trying lay a good background on something that may benefit him later in the future, it's obvious for some people to even have this simple habit.

However, if some newbies decide to use several weeks to gather enough funds before begin or buying bitcoin, it's perfectly okay, but the most relevant thing is to developing the disciplines and the habit of consistent purchases regularly without affecting his daily needs or putting himself into pressures, that's why it's good to keep emergency money separately. Building your bitcoin position from whatever you have as discretionary income you can afford to lose is much better than rushing to purchase bitcoin just because everybody is buying. A drops of a water makes an ocean.

Let's use a Naira example, and maybe we can talk about a guy who is struggling with his income and also having some inconsistencies with his income and his expenses.

Let's say that he had figure out from where he was going to buy his bitcoin, yet he still feels that he needs to get his bitcoin purchases up to a certain amount before it makes sense to buy bitcoin.

So maybe he would like to buy 50k naira's worth of bitcoin every two weeks, but he is pretty sure that he cannot reach that amount.

So he starts a side fund of cash, so that whenever that fund gets up to 60k naira, he will buy 35k in bitcoin, put 15k into another cash savings account (back up funds) and then he will resume building up the money until the next time he reaches 60k naira in that account.

Now these do not need to be complicated categories, and it can be money that is kept in various places, yet he is keeping track of his extra funds so that he ends up building up his bitcoin and his naira at the same time.  I know that some guys might also want to keep some money in dollars too since dollars might hold value better than the Naira.. and there is nothing wrong with that as long as he is treating his naira and dollars as forms of cash, and his bitcoin as a form of investment for the long term.  And practice will help guys to figure out some kind of a balance that work for them.  Maybe every once in a while the guy will get up to 60k naira quickly and then other times it might take him a whole month to get up to that amount.  He probably wants to try to figure out ways to increase his discretionary funds by increasing his income and/or by decreasing his expenses, yet at the same time, he is ongoingly working within his own means and perhaps every month able to measure progress, even if some months are smaller levels of progress than other months.
it is easy for someone to achieve something with what you said, but the thing is that if you are not determined to invest the person cannot be able to serve out money for the investment, the most important thing is for the person to be determined, if the person is not mind it will cut down his expenses so that he can have a savings for investment, but once he does not cut down the expenses how he spend daily or weekly there's nothing we make the person to be able to invest or to be able to have a discretionary income to invest, only that make somebody to achieve his plan is to apply a wisdom with strategies, so it is easy to achieve but it requires a discipline and determination
A person cannot expect to make a profit without long-term investment. If he wants to invest, he must make a long-term investment. It may take a long time to build a sustainable investment, but once he is able to move forward according to his long-term plan, then that investment can be a profitable opportunity for him. If someone wants to reduce his expenses and invest more, this will be a good plan for him. Because he will not follow this process with the hope of making a quick profit, but rather to accumulate more BTC quickly. There are many investors who are not disciplined in their investments. They only invest some amount occasionally when they want. They are not regular in their investments. In such a situation, will they be able to collect more BTC than a regular investor. Maybe they cannot, so first of all we have to be a regular investor and maintain investment discipline
Regularity, discipline and patience are important in long-term investment. The purpose of long-term investment is to gradually build a strong investment position by ignoring short-term fluctuations. It is not guaranteed that a regular investor will always collect more BTC than an irregular investor. If someone invests a large amount of money irregularly, he can accumulate more BTC than a regular investor. But in the case of irregular investment, many people wait for the right time in the market.
As a result, they may not invest for a long time or may make wrong decisions due to emotions. The habit of regular investment turns investment into a continuous process. And reduces the tendency to overthink market fluctuations. Discipline does not mean buying as much BTC as possible beyond your means. It can be a good decision to reduce expenses and invest more. If those expenses are really unnecessary and do not affect financial security. An investor also has to take into account the issue of emergency funds, necessary expenses, and future reserve funds. The goal of a successful long-term investor is not just to accumulate more BTC quickly, but to create a regular, disciplined, and long-term investment system within their means. It is better to invest in relatively small amounts that can be continued consistently for many years.

Exactly, when you stop making research, your funds become uncontrollable, and you can’t predict anything good, because you’re not making any good decisions, and you will lose everything. Gamblers are deciding before staking a bet, but when you don’t make research on your investment, I mean what you’re trying to invest, it will surely become unverified, and that is high risk on investment. Making good research about your investment will make you face challenges, and know what can probably comes next and achieve your goal on your investment journey.

I once thought you needed to do extensive research before starting to invest in Bitcoin, but I was corrected by JayJuanGee. So, what level of research do you think is actually necessary before getting started? In my opinion, you should first understand the basics of Bitcoin, make sure you are investing only with discretionary income, and have a clear strategy such as DCA.You can continue learning while you are in the market and gradually gain a better understanding of Bitcoin, including its volatility and risks. Saying that you must do extensive research before starting can sometimes make investing seem more complicated than it needs to be.
In essence, I'm saying that you don't need to know everything about Bitcoin before taking your first step. What matters is understanding the basics, using money you can afford to set aside, having a sustainable strategy, and continuing to educate yourself as you go. DCA can provide consistency, but it doesn't eliminate the risks associated with Bitcoin, so learning should remain part of the journey.

This is why it's good that you explore other options to consolidate your coins for a while before moving it to self-custody wallets for safe keeping. If the investor is so concerned about fees or the fees are high(which is rarely the case now), the investor might start consolidating on a reputable exchange, let's say he/she consolidates up to $500 with if BTC before sending to his non-custodial wallet at once to save on fees. I don't like the idea of pausing your DCA buys while you've discretionary income available. It works against your Bitcoin investment goals.

Investing long term is just one part of it, every bitcoin investor should make sure they are investing with their discretionary income because even though your plan if lon term and you are investing with more than you discretionary income you will be be able to keep investing for long enough so while making sure your target is long term you should make sure it all comes from your discretionary income and that you also have your backup funds in place as well, if you don't have them set up already then you can do so from your discretionary income as well along side your bitcoin accumulation.

Investment long term should be the goal of every investor someone should buy for quick profits and say he/she is an investor whereas the persom didn't potray the major characteristics of an investor which is buying and holding longer, Bitcoin is a long term asset so buying it for quick profits is not a very good option, holding is better.

As for security, it is another thing investors have to take as serious as holding for long term cause that where the safety of the investment lays, an investment in an unsecured wallet is as risky as a trading cause it's exposed to different things that would attract lose than gains especially exposed to hackers.

're you talking about bitcoin investment or you are talking about gambling? Because it is as if you are mixing them up. Predicting bitcoin huh? what do you need prediction for, when you can just focus on ongoingly investing using your discretionary. Okay can you explain what are the things person needs to research about so that it will not be unverified, I am really eager to hear them amd learn from it if it worth it.

Till you tell me what research person needs, maybe you should also know that it is totally pointless in wasting time before person started bitcoin investing. Bitcoin isn't shitcoin, yes I could have agreed with you if your point was directed at shitcoins, but you see bitcoin there is nothing to investigate there. Hell yeah, anything can happen in the nearest future, but as of now bitcoin have shown that it ain't a random shitcoin that needs to to start verifying if it is authentic.

Don't make dumb excuses to be delaying endlessly. There is more to learning in Bitcoin even after you started to invest. So just get the hell started.

Predicting bitcoin is one mistake a lot people make this very reason is why most of them is still yet to kick start their bitcoin journey. DCA have really make everything so Much easy for us, with DCA you don’t need to start waiting for the DIP before thinking to invest, you buy just need a discretionary income and you can start your bitcoin journey.

Of course some people still Have doubt about bitcoin, we know it volatile and with that nothing is guaranteed but over the years it has proven to be dependable. So don’t see compare bitcoin. Investment to gambling but instead see it as something to hold on to in the future.

What are you talking about? So is the main purpose of Bitcoin investing to accurately predict future prices?
Or is it to create a system where you can continue to save without having to guess?

It is quite clear that even if you spend hundreds of hours of research, you will not be able to reliably predict the price of the next month. You may understand your risk well, you may know about custody well, or you may be well versed in technical matters. But none of these things tell us the future price of Bitcoin. Rather, when someone thinks that "research will tell you the next price and events", this idea can lead to market timing for beginners.

In fact, I think the power of Bitcoin accumulation is the opposite. That is, if you have discretionary income after meeting your needs, you can buy at an amount that does not harm your cashflow. Whether the market price goes up or down next month does not have to be a condition of your plan.

Investing becomes gambling when you stop using research and instead rely purely on luck quick short term profits or intense emotions no research buying a random asset just because the price is moving fast high risk chasing fast lottery style wins example investing buying shares of a strong company and holding them for years to earn profit truth at long time investment

So if I'm investing in bitcoin I need to constantly be making research on bitcoin investment else I might risk losing everything? I'm not even sure where you are getting this idea from but it's completely false, you are not even arguing for research before investing which is still not necessary but is way more plausible than what you are saying, an investor can decide to not have to research on bitcoin and just keep buying with their discretionary income and holding after already taking the necessary measures they don't end up losing their bitcoin, continuous research is not at all necessary.
