It is reasonable to view research as a basis for your own decisions, not as a tool for prediction. Even analyzing various market fundamentals, it is not possible to say with certainty where the price will go in the future. The main purpose of research should be to consider how the asset you are investing in works, what its risks are, and how strong the logic behind your decision is. It is not appropriate to directly equate Bitcoin with gambling. Bitcoin is an asset . and gambling is essentially a method of betting on uncertain outcomes. However  if someone blindly invests money in Bitcoin based on short-term price fluctuations , their behavior can become like gambling.  The comparison is more reasonable to make not between Bitcoin and gambling, but rather between a person's behavior and risk-taking approach.

How do we view research as a basis of our own decision? You are sounding a bit confused I mean is it not through research and analysis one can be able to predict where the price of Bitcoin will be heading to? Regardless of the fact that gambling is very risky, one needs to research and also analyze the chart thoroughly before executing any plan. Anyone who invest in Bitcoin for short is already a trader and not an investor so  there's nothing like they will be acting like a gambler.
Even if you are making researches and analysing the market you can't still know what the price of bitcoin will next be and making these researches won't help you instead it will still delay your bitcoin investment.

If you want to buy bitcoin and hold for long you don't need analysing the market and making researches, just start buying bitcoin if you have your discretionary income, dcaing regularly by buying bitcoin regardless of the price, which will also enable you not be monitoring the market to know where the price is before you can buy.

if someone feels that they need to research or analyse the market in other to be able to predict the correct entry price , this is wrong because know amount of research or analysis can make us to know or predict correctly the price of bitcoin in the future. I believe an investor that is ongoing or continuously accumulating bitcoin can decide to research more or learn more about bitcoin. The motive maybe to expand their knowledge as they continue with their bitcoin accumulation and not because they want to predict the future price of bitcoin.

You are right that it is good to gain knowledge about Bitcoin for the expansion of knowledge. It is logical to research its past, present and future value because it is accumulating an asset whose value is unstable but has a strong potential for future price increase. Many of the logical reasons for this is personal and institutional acceptance and limited supply and gaining investor confidence.

For an investor not to become a gambler, he needs to hold unto his coin and keep accumulating for a long term of 4-10 years and above, because Bitcoin is designed for long term and not a short term.

Accumulation of Bitcoin is done basically for investment and for gambling when you start selling at any point on time that you need funds in other to meet up your expenses makes you a gambler which is not good for any investor or bitcoin community at large.
The advice you have given to hold and accumulate Bitcoin for 4-10 years or more is really great as a long-term perspective.
But I cannot agree with your last point at all. The idea that someone becomes a gambler by selling Bitcoin for family needs does not seem reasonable to me in any way. Suppose an ordinary employee or a person with a limited income started buying Bitcoin with a 4-10 year mindset. He also had his own emergency fund or backup fund. But no one can predict in advance what situations will arise in a person's life. Suddenly he or his family faces a major crisis or medical emergency where even after all the money in his emergency fund is gone a huge amount of money is still needed. Now he has two options open to him.

take a loan at high interest or borrow from someone whose installments will be an extreme mental and financial burden on his limited salary for years to come.Or to get out of this crisis by breaking his own Bitcoin. Now tell me if this man breaks his Bitcoin portfolio or sells his accumulated coins to escape from the crisis by breaking his life destroying high interest debt did he become a gambler?
Not at all. Rather Bitcoin acted as a financial life saver or shield for him and his family. We invest in Bitcoin so that in times of danger we do not have to touch anyone or take loans at high interest rates.

Gamblers are those who bet on trading charts without any risk management in the hope of 10x or 100x profit. But using your hard-earned wealth to protect your family in times of danger is not gambling this is the real value of wealth accumulation

Guys should not be investing into bitcoin with amounts of money they need for expenses, and sometimes it can be difficult to determine if a guy might have had been investing too much into bitcoin, since he does not have enough money to cover the various basic needs.

Sure, none of us, pro-bitcoin folks, want to discourage buying bitcoin, yet sometimes guys might not have enough income to be able to put money into bitcoin, and they have to figure out how to increase their income and/or decrease their expenses.

And, yeah, if it appears that guys are using money that they need for their basic expenses, then it can seem like trading and/or gambling... even though sometimes the future shortages of income and/or increases in expenses may well been unforeseeable.
Exactly, nobody likes to discourage anyone no to invest into bitcoin, but that is an very important point, no one should ignore the financial, because bitcoin can be a very good long term investment, but just because you want to invest into bitcoin shouldn’t stop someone from being unable to take care of basic needs, Even the investment won’t move as you expect. I think the best approach is not to more but to improve your finances by increasing your income, and try building some backup funds very necessary.

Some folks can be struggling after investing, I think we shouldn’t judge them so quick, because things can change unexpectedly, maybe they are facing high expenses or losing of income, but the focus should be, we should buy bitcoin in such a way that will improve our financial position not us to struggling to survive.
The most important thing before anyone can start accumulating bitcoin is discretionary income. Those that are not able to figure out there discretionary income are not supposed to invest in bitcoin because they don't have what it takes to invest in bitcoin. We should attend to our needs first and whatever we have left after that is what should be invested in bitcoin.
There are people that make the mistake of using all their discretionary income to buy bitcoin when they have no backup funds, this approach is wrong because when an emergency occurs or unexpected needs arises, they will either fall back to there bitcoin investment or will be struggling financially. So aside investing with discretionary income there is need to always have a backup funds that will protect our investment and also for us not to put ourselves into financial pressures.
From excess money  to use for investment is a safe method. But it does not mean that someone who does not have discretionary income can never invest in Bitcoin, but rather his first task should be to increase income, control expenses and create an investable surplus. It is important to have a backup or emergency fund in addition to investing. The purpose is to avoid the need to sell Bitcoin in a situation where selling can be detrimental to you. Not every person needs to accumulate a huge amount of emergency fund before starting investing. Someone's income may be stable, expenses are low and other safe sources of money may have different needs. The investment amount should be consistent with the person's financial capacity. How much of the discretionary income will go to Bitcoin and how much will remain as cash or backup should be determined based on the person's risk, future expenses and financial security. First ensure necessary expenses, then create discretionary income, have a suitable backup/emergency fund and then invest in Bitcoin according to your ability. So that in any unexpected situation, that investment does not become the cause of your financial problems.

There is no such thing as the right entry price, but every moment is the right time to enter and the right price. So you have to start without thinking about the price. And especially for a long-term investor, they should not worry about the market at all, but they should only focus on consistency. It is not a big deal at what price you buy, but the main thing is how much you buy and how long you hold it. A person often waits while looking for the perfect entry. He thinks he will buy at a lower price, then waits for a lower price and so on. If the market does not go down as he expected, he may never start, and the market then goes up and then he thinks it is too late and there is no point in investing anymore. But this kind of mentality should be abandoned first of all, and instead of worrying about the fluctuations, you should buy consistently when buying.

This happens at time because folks didn't do the needful before kickstarting their accumulation journey... I like to believe that 'Investor A' cannot have the same financial strength and/or capacity as 'Investor B' And this is the more reason why folks have to understand their own financial capacity... They shouldn't just go ahead to invest an amount just because that is what others are doing... My point here is that investment should be based on what you can afford, so as to prevent folks from burning out while folks are in the process of their investment journey.. Though, I wouldn't neglect the fact that things could change in the long run, for example folks could lose their job, get added financial responsibility, they could as well get demoted, or get a salary deduction... This are beyond the control of that individual and if that were to happen, ones would have to change their frequency of accumulation by either reducing the amount they use to buy altogether or by buying in line with the availability of their discretionary income(buying only when there is Discretionary income available)...

Investing becomes gambling when you stop using research and instead rely purely on luck quick short term profits or intense emotions no research buying a random asset just because the price is moving fast high risk chasing fast lottery style wins example investing buying shares of a strong company and holding them for years to earn profit truth at long time investment

Exactly, when you stop making research, your funds become uncontrollable, and you can’t predict anything good, because you’re not making any good decisions, and you will lose everything. Gamblers are deciding before staking a bet, but when you don’t make research on your investment, I mean what you’re trying to invest, it will surely become unverified, and that is high risk on investment. Making good research about your investment will make you face challenges, and know what can probably comes next and achieve your goal on your investment journey.
This research you’re talking about, I really want to understand if it’s before investment or during investment?
Before investment, yes research is good to have little knowledge about the investment you’re about to go into but saying if one doesn’t make researches during investment, will lose everything and funds become uncontrollable, is what I can’t agree to.

Prediction made between gambling and investment are totally different because predicting in gambling is very uncertain unlike bitcoin investment, so gambling and investment are not alike or same in any way. As an investor that’s wants to accumulate and hold for long term, there is nothing like constantly making researches or monitoring your investment always, that will only keep your mind unease and not stable. Buy your bitcoin and start your journey using the right strategy and hold, just take your mind of it and be consistent, so you won’t get too bothered about it volatility, trust the process and it will be worth the wait in the future.

It is good to have some basic knowledge about Bitcoin by doing some research before investing but you should be careful not to delay your investment by acquiring basic knowledge. It is not necessary to always do research or monitor the market after starting an investment. Rather, thinking too much about each price movement can put pressure on your investment plan and long term mindset.

In my opinion consistency is more important than a perfect strategy when it comes to Bitcoin investment. The main thing is to create a plan according to your financial capability and be consistent with it in the long term and stay invested even during the ups and downs of the market.

And it is not right to equate investment with gambling just because of prediction. The purpose of investment should not be to make a quick profit by predicting short term price movements, but to create a long term position by accumulating Bitcoin. Therefore, instead of chasing short term gains you should focus on patience and long term growth.

So after buying Bitcoin, it seems more practical to me to be consistent with your strategy without worrying about the price or market every day. Market fluctuation is beyond our control but our saving habit spending control and investment discipline are within our own control.

If you’ve actually been following and learning from the discussions in this thread, you wouldn’t create unnecessary obstacle making folks think they need to gain some special level of knowledge before they can start accumulating Bitcoin. If you think you need basic knowledge to invest, you may end up thinking the next step is to become an expert, and that would delay you from ever starting.

All a person needs to start is figure out discretionary income and use amount he can comfortably afford to put into Bitcoin. You can start with that amount and keep learning while you’re accumulating. Learning should be a continuous process.
The important thing is to have a realistic plan, and not invest money you need short term.

Sure, doing research before investing im Bitcoin is good, but trying to get everything perfect is another problem. The important thing is doing research to understand enough what you are doing and what exactly you are investing your hard earned money into. You should know that Bitcoin invest can be done with the money you can afford to lose after taking care of your own expenses, not with the money you may need for employment tomorrow.

Sometimes consistency is more important than having a perfect strategy, especially when investing for long term. Investing according based on your financial situation, someone that is consistent will have better holding than a guy who is busy looking for the perfect time to buy. Because you don’t bother with the ups and downs of the market, like those who scared to buy when price goes down.

If someone searches for the right entry period for determining the price of Bitcoin, it will be a manifestation of their misconception. This kind of mental preparation is seen among new investors. It is good to analyze the market but during the Bitcoin accumulation period. There may be research topics related to where the price of Bitcoin can go in the future and what reasons exist for it.
What exactly do you mean by market analysis?
If your purpose in market analysis is to learn more about Bitcoin's characteristics, limited supply, security, and the risks of your own investment, then that is certainly part of learning. But if your purpose in market analysis is to determine where the future price will go and then buy, then we are back to the same problem that you warned about at the beginning of your post. Because as a long-term investor, if you form your own idea of the future price before each purchase, that idea can gradually influence your buying decision.

You don't need to do any kind of research to gain general knowledge. General knowledge does not say that a person needs to know much or anything special, except to know whether they have discretionary income or not and whether it is properly invested. If a person is able to find a source of discretionary income through financial management, then he can definitely start investing. After starting investing, he can learn all other things.

Starting investing is the most necessary step. Especially when it comes to gaining knowledge about wallets or choosing a wallet, it is never a good idea to wait to start investing. Once a person starts investing, he can gradually gain their knowledge and continue investing in a balanced way with the ongoing process.

people doesn't need to make research as to gain knowledge before they can start investing in bitcoin. The most important thing is that they have been able to figure out there discretionary income. However, aside having general knowledge they really need to research some things about  bitcoin investment. This way they can be able to understand what they are actually going into , the risk involved and the best strategy they are to deploy. If an investor should rely only on general knowledge they may end up making mistakes that should have been avoided in the first place. It is easy to start accumulating bitcoin even without making research, but this doesn't mean that it is not essential to make research about the investment since it is not possible for someone to know everything about bitcoin investment especially when they are newbies.

There is nothing wrong in predicting the future price of bitcoin, people can speculate about the price of bitcoin but doesn't mean they can get it right, you could predict that the price will go high while it even dip more or it could still go high but not the price that was predicted.
To start investing in bitcoin doesn't require going through researches to get started as this will just be a delay tactics the time one should use to invest is what that will be use for research. People should invest if they have money they can let go available and learn more along there BTC accumulation process.

Point of correction dude, speculating the price of Bitcoin is the same thing as trading so what's the business of an investor with doing something like that? If you had said it's not bad for traders then you're right but not everyone cause an investors focus should be accumulating Bitcoin and not guessing what the price would be at certain periods.
Those are the kind of things that distracts an investors focus so they should avoid it and focus on the goal which is to build a good portfolio for the future and they can only do that by accumulating it.

Speculating the price of BTC doesn't necessarily mean actively trading, trading is the buying and selling of bitcoin when you are still at your accumulation process and hasn't gotten to your bitcoin over accumulation phase, people can come out and talk about the price of bitcoin this doesn't mean that as they are discussing about the price that they are trading or traders, as long as they are not selling there bitcoin in a short time but regularly buying and holding for long time they can't be seen as traders.

It is not necessary to always do research or monitor the market after starting an investment. Rather, thinking too much about each price movement can put pressure on your investment plan and long term mindset.

I don't know if you have read my post completely or not. If you have you would have seen at the beginning that I clearly said that you should be careful not to delay your investment to gain basic knowledge. I have never said that you have to be an expert before starting Bitcoin.

A person can start with an amount according to his ability that is comfortably affordable for him and at the same time he can learn to invest. The most important thing is that the money being invested should be discretionary income.

And that is why I talked about a realistic plan. The plan should be according to his financial capability and it should be possible to maintain it in the long term. Investment and learning will go hand in hand, but consistency is the most important thing here.

So there is not much difference between my statement and yours. The main thing is not to delay starting investment on the pretext of learning and to gradually improve your knowledge and strategy while investing.

So you are saying that an investor has no business with wanting to speculate on what the price of bitcoin will be in the near future? So if I say bitcoin is going to hit $100k again before the year runs out I automatically become a trader? I'm not sure how that makes sense to you but it doesn't make sense to me.
Of course obsessing with what the price of bitcoin will be tomorrow won't do an investor any good but that doesn't mean that investors shouldn't hope for the price of bitcoin to go higher unless you are just holding bitcoin to store value and if that's the case then you would still want for it to go higher as opposed to going lower. After all if the price of bitcoin goes down with no hope of going back up then forget about storing value because your asset will be losing value.
Do not with hopes of making quick profit, this is a fundamental thing every bitcoin investor should know. This is very different from speculating on what the price of bitcoin will be tomorrow.

I don’t see anything wrong in speculating about bitcoin, but where it is wrong is when you are speculating before investing. When you do that, it more like a trader stuff. Don’t let speculating of bitcoin delay your investment plans, don’t wait till maybe there is a Dip before you buy. This is the main reason why using the DCA is simply the best when going into bitcoin investment.

A good investor won’t delay it investment for anything, so long there is discretionary income, he is very okay to start. All he need now is to stick to the accumulation, remain consistent and that. Such person won’t even know what really going on in the market.

It is normal for investors to speculate about the market but they should bear in mind that there’s no accuracy or certainty about it because bitcoin is highly volatile. This is why most investors only just want to focus on how they can continue buying bitcoin because what’s the point for them to speculate over what they have no control of as  at the end of the day it’s still not in their power to decide what will be. Bitcoin price usually goes up and down at a fast pace and so there’s no established track record which will ordinarily or automatically steer speculative work into its future direction or value. These days with the use of DCA strategy investors can now buy bitcoin at any market price and hold so at the end of the day weather the market is favorable to them or not they don’t have to feel the impact of the risk of loss associated with the market volatility too much.

There is no such thing as the right entry price, but every moment is the right time to enter and the right price. So you have to start without thinking about the price. And especially for a long-term investor, they should not worry about the market at all, but they should only focus on consistency.

In a more clear specific way, there is no perfect time or perfect price to start your investment, but once you have been able to figure out what your discretionary income is, then you can start accumulating Bitcoin. The availability of your discretionary income makes you ready to start buying right away since it's necessary to buy Bitcoin only from your discretionary income and not from your main income. Therefore, the right time to buy lagerly depends on the availability of your discretionary income. Once that is figured out, the investments can begin immediately without further delay.
