In most region people are not allowed to gamble freely anymore, this is not new besides I came across a thread relating to government regulation and if proper care is not taken the government might stop gambling activity. This depends basically other governments make money from gambling tax in order to take care of other situations according to what’s said meanwhile gamblers no longer gamble freely again, gambling restriction has been for long which I find disturbing probably after now we might get another rule with difficult term. Casinos with no KYC are numerous besides not all country sees gambling activity as a threat or a source of revenue and the KYC option is mostly avoided by most gamblers.

I totally disagree with you regarding what you just said above on a general scale regarding gambling. Because considering how the gambling industry is more lucrative this days, government would rather choose to regulate it, rather than stop gambling entirely, most especially if the casino operates within it's jurisdiction and have been generating quite a huge sum from game plays.

Certainly, with government's increasing interest on the revenue generated from the gambling industry, I have no doubt that it is likely to have a crackdown on Non-KYC casinos, since non KYC casinos are casinos that operate without an official license, exists on its own without been regulated, whereby gamblers can just register, deposit/withdraw and start gambling without needing to undergo KYC. And since government won't be able to tax on it, and as such threaten to either shut it down or accept been regulated. But however, it's watch out how it's going to be.

Personally, I expect that the continued growth of the gambling industry and its increasing "legitimacy" in the eyes of governments is not in the best interest of privacy-conscious gamblers, as it means less privacy, more restrictions, and a limited selection of casinos that don't require KYC or AML.

This is quite similar to centralized exchanges, which initially proliferated without KYC but, once they began obtaining legal licenses from governments, started imposing KYC and other stringent restrictions that violate user privacy.

Here I will mention one thing that if you want to get something, you have to make some sacrifices and in this case if you play games in a non-kyc or KYC mandatory casino then you may not get the best features but you will not get it at all on a gambling site. This is not the case in this bitcointalk forum. There are many casinos that are providing their services without putting much pressure on KYC verification. However, those are not top class casinos or we often consider it risky to stake high amounts on them.

Casinos without KYC haven't completely disappeared, but the risks are quite high, these platforms are usually new or not yet popular, which makes them less reliable. In the end, the choice is ours. If you don't want to sacrifice your privacy, you can gamble at a non KYC casino. However if you prefer to play comfortably while accepting certain regulations, KYC casinos are a better choice. This is not to say in their favor, but reflecting the reality of the current era, any platform related to money and profit is bound to be regulated by the government.

Gambling restriction is not general, I meant a specific thread I came across here concerning Philippine government wanting to ban gambling activity. Gambling activity has been a major issue for most region and not all governments are interested in tax or revenue rather they think banning gambling will help the citizens more basically addicted gamblers who are lost. Wish to through more light on this issue whereby governments claim all kinds of right restricting gambling activity obviously we’ve seen government shutdown casinos including organization and in return a little compensation but, very rare.

Notably, this rise also points to greater levels of activity in the gaming industry, as well as an improvement in the level of compliance and collection. It is also indicated that gaming operators are making progressively bigger contributions to the revenue pool.

I think players should have the option to choose if they want to use casinos without strict KYC verification rules.
Standard casinos with fiat currencies and strict KYC existed for very long time and they will always be here, but crypto casinos should be a different story.
I want to see developers making more options for decentralized casinos, and there is market for that.

So the question is, as the gambling industry continues to grow and become more “legitimate” in the eyes of governments, is this actually good for us as players? Or does it just mean less privacy, more restrictions, and fewer options like no-KYC casinos?
Have regulations ever been done before because they want to favour players or because they want full access and benefit from both players and the industry? Regulators present rules to look like they are doing it to protect our playing rights, but deep down we know what they need is our data and how our money moves so that they can have the right financial data of us. As for privacy, this is nothing new; if it can happen to crypto casinos, it is less.

It’s always both but getting tax to all money generated services such as casino is always the top priority. You can feel the real protection from government like US, EU region and other rich country but on 3rd world country this protection is always questionable.

In general, regulation was imposed to fight against money laundering, protect user from irregularities from casino and get tax for revenue.

It wouldn’t be good for us as gamblers who prioritize privacy. Maybe right now we think that one day we will be required to do KYC just to gamble, but I have always believed that there will still be casinos without KYC that we can find. The problem is that casinos without KYC probably will not last long, because they will inevitably lose competition to regulated casinos. In the end, most people do not really care about privacy and will go through KYC just to be able to bet at their preferred casino.

Growing government revenues from the gaming industry doesn't necessarily translate into increased personal income from gambling. Ordinary citizens will continue to win very rarely, as they always have. And I don't understand the need to tighten player identification requirements. This poses no problem for the government. The only problem for governments could be the laundering of criminal proceeds and terrorism-related cash flows through casinos and bookmakers. As for the end of casinos without KYC, there aren't any now. Casinos without KYC are more a gimmick than a practical solution.

Gambling or casino sites are playing the biggest role in the development of the government revenue sector. If there are non-KYC rich gambling or casino sites, then the government does not get revenue from that sector. Therefore, the government will be forced to be strict with all these casinos and gambling. In this case, the government definitely wants non-KYC casinos to be closed.

Moreover, if the non-KYC casinos are closed, then of course the users will stop using the non-KYC casinos as they are considered risky. If the users close them, then the casino and gambling authorities will be forced to close the non-KYC casinos. Basically, all these casinos are run by evading the government's taxes, if the government closes them, there will be nothing to do.

Non-KYC gambling will never die. The governments can't beat illegal stuff like drug trafficking, carding, refunding and other illegal activities. How do you think the governments would completely wipe out the non-KYC part of the gambling industry? There will always be non-KYC casinos, but they come with their own risks. Gamblers hate the KYC verification more than anything else. I don't think that most gamblers care if a percentage of the money they spend at the casino gets taxed and the government uses those money for healthcare or education.
I'm afraid of my sensitive info getting leaked and shared all over the darkweb. I don't care if the government takes 25 dollars out of every 100 dollars I spend at the casino as gambling taxes.

So the question is, as the gambling industry continues to grow and become more “legitimate” in the eyes of governments, is this actually good for us as players? Or does it just mean less privacy, more restrictions, and fewer options like no-KYC casinos?

Gambling casino is one of the largest contributor with the taxes so for sure still there are some country will support the operation of the casino afaik these are depends on their gross revenue a percentage of it needed to pay just to operate within the country and of course they need to seek a license if ever they will not comply of course possible they get banned or prohibits access by the end user but seems people have the same to access the casino which is the use of the VPN. Just the cons to the player is they cant make a complaint against the casino if ever there's something happen to them because at the first place its already illegal.

And also user's preffered nowadays non-kyc casino which is good if you really sensitive with your information with the possible attacks nowadays we must need to protect our identity.

If ever that coercion for KYC casinos will manifest in years to come, it will create another market for a new industry or revitalise already existing ones. I trust what business owners can do with every new legislation. There are people who will want to create something out of that stringent KYC policy of government when it becomes mandatory. For anything, forcing online casinos to go the KYC way will cause people to patronize offline betting shops more and revenue generation will shift to it. Every loophole will be exploited to create something new. Wasn't that how Bitcoin came to be in the first place, to break up the middleman thing in transactions?

Probably, but it will be underground, illegal. That also happens with sports betting or card games. You can gamble on the underground scene, but it is much more unsafe, you are more likely to be scammed, and even your physical integrity is at risk.

What is clear is that the trend is for cryptocurrency casinos to end up like online fiat casinos, which require KYC to register. Will there always be alternatives to that? Yes, but there will be few, and they will not be very secure.

This no KYC thing is not just a government thing, some game providers also push for this kind of arrangement so that they protect themselves legally should something happen.. say for example a minor blowing the parents savings on a nokyc platform and the sue game provider and casino jointly.

Otherwise personally I have come to terms that in the future to come we shall be having less of these non KYC platforms, and while the fun lasts let's use them without worrying about misuse of personal data.

Correct.

This is the only way to move forward since cryptocurrencies monetary value was already acknowledged and regulated by the government. There’s no way crypto market will be unregulated.

Crypto casino was already developed and far more safer that the old casino era data protection is a big issue. I have high confidence on verifying my account rather than try those illegal operation casino that anytime will be close without any trace.

I'm not sure that online casinos that don't use KYC will disappear in the near future. Yes, governments do strive to control all financial flows of their citizens. However, it's important to understand that every action creates a reaction. 🙋

More and more people around the world are beginning to value their anonymity and privacy. People are beginning to understand that their personal data is a valuable asset that can't be given away for free. Online casinos are commercial organizations. Their primary goal is to make a profit. Casinos make their profits from their customers (players), not from the government. Governments don't subsidize casinos.

Therefore, if the majority of customers demand the abolition of KYC, casinos will have no choice but to comply. Yes, of course, governments can exert aggressive pressure on casino management. However, unlike players, governments cannot ensure online casinos' profits. Governments won't pay casinos. Therefore, in this system, players are the most important actors. I don't rule out a revolutionary transformation of online casinos in the future.  For example, online casinos may begin accepting deposits in anonymous and private cryptocurrencies like Monero. Other tools may also be used to ensure anonymity and privacy of payments. 🤵

Maybe the future is not pure no-KYC, but “clear conditional KYC”. I’m fine if a casino is honest from the start about limits, AML checks and withdrawals. What annoys players is surprise verification after they win. Newer platforms like Chipsy should be very clear about that if they want long-term trust.
